  1. It is very very safe to say the fascist contributors to any thread involving the Shinawats don't speak Thai at all [past bar-girl vocabulary] while the Shinawats indeed do speak English. Yingluk's American-English accent is not good -- but my Thai accent in rural Thailand is much worse.

I quite understand that your Thai is limited, and that you get your input via your politically biased g/f, but that is no reason to assume that deficiency extends to other posters. None of whom AFAIK claim to have completed a higher education degree in Thai.

The extent of the Shinawatras abuse of the democratic system to further their criminality is more than obvious. What leads you to ignore that?

"I quite understand that your Thai is limited, ..." is not what I wrote. Can't you be right about anything? I said my accent is poor. I live in a country town of about 16,000 where I seem to be the only Westerner. So the chances you speak Thai better than I are nil, no matter how bad my accent.

555 .. correct, just another example of the TV "make up your own facts and then go crazy with them" brigade.

You see, in a moment of irony lost on our dear friend .. your Thai is so good, that you understand how bad your accent is.

This "Thai Visa Expert on all things Thai" is so busy making fun of a PM who DID NOT MAJOR IN ENGLISH:

Yingluck grew up in Chiang Mai and attended Regina Coeli College, a private girls' school, for the lower secondary level, followed by Yupparaj College, a co-educational school, at the upper secondary level. She graduated with a BA degree from the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, at Chiang Mai University in 1988 and received a MPA degree (specialization in Management Information Systems) from Kentucky State University in 1991.

And mocking Thai for struggling with the L & R of English .. that he does not know there are Thai tonal combinations that it is close to impossible to mimic.

Impossible really. My wife is Thai, with a college education. She tries so patiently to get me to say things correctly .. and as you know, much of it sounds like she is saying the same word twice.

To our TV Experts on all things Thai, and frankly, just about everything in this world .. call us when you can talk about chickens and eggs, and it does not sound like you just said the same word five times in a row. (You have no idea what i am talking about, do you? odd, for cultural and language experts)

chicken and egg obvious ..the answer is chicken every one knows that...well some of us i grant you that..

  2. Yingluck herself has said the rice scheme "lifted the quality of life for rice farmers"

Tell that to the families of farmers who went bankrupt and killed themselves months after you failed to deliver payment as promised. Most of them only got paid after you were thrown out of office.

Due to actions by Sutthep and paid thugs which caused dissolution of parliament and nobody having authority to pay them.

so the question is then why did she not pay them when she was in power....surely your bright enough to know the real answer...

  3. It is a little prepubescent to make fun of the Asian difficulty with English at times.

It does not matter if you are Japanese,Mexican or Taiwanese. Someone who rightfully holds a Masters Degree in English should do better.

    Thank you three times.

Let me see if I understand you.

You are saying that walking through a few thousand people, with hundreds of cameras rolling, on her way to trial .. you have a problem with her English?

I have heard native English speakers with far lower vocabularies and general comprehension skills.

If there is a problem sir, I believe it resides within you.

May I ask what specifically is your complaint?

(You know this is an exercise in futility .. yes? .. that woman could run into a burning building and save three babies and a puppy, and you would make fun of the soot on her nose.)

  5. tow them back to where they came from,..its the latest craze like trying to get to europe,,i do feel for them but why does everyone else have to bail these people out,let 1 in you have to let them all in,,

Wherever you are they let you in. You're no better than any of these human beings, probably worse than most. Try being stateless for awhile, see how that works for you. What you're doing now isn't quite right.

what im doing now is saying the truth..but you dont like it sonny......but your very free to say so ..

  6. tow them back to where they came from,..its the latest craze like trying to get to europe,,i do feel for them but why does everyone else have to bail these people out,let 1 in you have to let them all in,,

'Let one in and you have to let then all in'? What are you or more importantly who do you think they are? It's strange to me how photos of boat people are seen through the eyes of prejudice. It's interesting how TV is divided between liberals and fascists. Some see boatloads of people as jihadi sub humans waiting to cut everyone's throats at worst or at the very least thieves and low life trying to steal jobs and muscle in on others lives and possessions.

    .

Others see boatloads of refugees fleeing from certain death at worst or at least persecution and marginalization. Then there are those wanting to have a better lives for their families and children escaping extreme poverty. Everyone on TV wants that too, it's called human rights. But Winstonc calls it the 'latest craze'.People wanting a better life have been around since the beginning of time.

The situation is desperate and serious. There's already been so many drownings whether in this area or in Europe. There has to be screening and integration, education of potential contributors to the economy and society and adjoining countries have to work out a solution between them.Difficult I know and there will be many failures, but what is the other choice? Only the racist xenophobic rants like "tow them out to sea and drown them" etc from so many bitter and jingoistic contributors on here.So much hate speech and fear mongering that is drowning (being the operative word) out contributors who have a little sense of justice and humanity.

They are PEOPLE in those boats, not lesser lives because they are poorer,of a different color, religion and different from us.There are always going to be people with ill intent. That is the mix. Same as exists on TV.

But EVERYONE on TV would do exactly the same as those people in the boats if in their shoes. So let's count ourselves lucky that we were dealt a better hand..........

where did someone write tow them out to sea and drown them...no-one..enough of your drama and lies .are you a labour supporter or something...the beginning of time what was the worlds population ..???..they thought the world was flat 500 years ago..if your so concerned nip down to phuket hire a jetski.and take out some life saving goodies for them..go on be the good samaritan..why dont ya..

  7. tow them back to where they came from,..its the latest craze like trying to get to europe,,i do feel for them but why does everyone else have to bail these people out,let 1 in you have to let them all in,,

"I do feel for them , but..."

There is no "but"...and you don't feel for them, so don't pretend!

you know nothing of what i feel, your just after some liberal likes,so dont pretend you know mork...

  8. As a great railway enthusiast I only hope I only hope I live long enough to see these projects completed. Long overdue. 2017 and 2019 completion dates will make me 74 and 76 yo! I better get more exercise! Maybe become a cycling enthusiast too!

Cycling Enthusiast in Thailand? Do you want to die?

probably a static bike in his bedroom hahahahaha...

  9. The Thais really don't understand foreign investment via property ownership. They honestly think they are losing land and property to foreigners or that foreigners will somehow take over Thailand.

The amount of money they lose annually is vast and as property changes hands the amount of money being invested in the country grows.

I doubt Thailand will ever allow foreigners to own property as the are ignorant to the real benefits and see it as merely losing something to a foreigner. I know a few Thais in the UK who own property and none are subjected to the 49% rule and why should they be ... their money is as good as anyone else's and it adds funds to the treasury.

yes they do take over look at london you go back to where you come from and your a stranger in your own town, make foreigners rent, they should be happy just to live there/here...you cant take it with you...i never understood the craze of owning your own property..listening to people talking in the pubs saying my house is worth blah..blah blah...yeah mate only on paper and not in your account oh to have a 25 year mortgage coffee1.gif

  10. Thailand just doesn't get it - comments/suggestions/urging are not requests but, rather, a diplomatic

way of demanding changes and, now, as opposed to later or never. The international word is " let them land, feed them,

look for long term solution then and not let them wander the seas and, ultimately die".

its the countries that they left that should have stopped them leaving, but there happy to palm off these people for someone else to feed and house them dont keep blaming thailand,....birth control is a huge answer but muslims wont entertain anything that infringes on there selfish way of life,,,,,,

  11. Yingluck said on her facebook page "i have not done anything wrong at all".

So all the lying, false promises, inflammatory foreign speeches and zero attendance records for rice meetings were completely kosher then. Alright.

She deserves to be locked up. Any normal person would be. 1 law should be applicable to all after all

There is nothing she has done that is criminal in nature She may have not attended meeting but that is not criminal. In inflammatory speeches do not rise to breaking the law.

False promises Well if it was criminal to give false promises you would half to lock up every politician around the world Again not criminal .

I am not a supporter of Yingluck but I really despise people who want to lynch someone because then are breathing.

We had this type of mentality in the deep south in the United States back in the 50s ans 60s and a lot of innocent folks where hanged or found dead because it it

I would suggest its time for you to grow up and smell the coffee .

It is a sad day in a democracy that someone is found guilty before ever going to court for a proper defense. Not a lynch mob mentality

she allowed criminality to continue and as head of the government is she absovled of any responsibilty..and were in thailand not the deep south 50 years ago..

  12. It's just a witch hunt for being on the wrong side. Like Stanley Weiss said in his recent article: "When 190 of 200 legislators in the military-stacked assembly later voted to impeach Yingluck for "dereliction of duty" over the rice subsidy -- which the analyst David Merkel dryly notes is "akin to impeaching a U.S. president over an ethanol subsidy, pork barrel spending, or a dairy program" -- Yingluck rightly declared, "Democracy has died in Thailand today, along with the rule of law."

Thailand is a police state so this kind of thing happens.

and when was it a true democracy brains..and the rule of law when charlem was letting protesters be killed ..i await your next .thrilling post...being a dog brown nosing is right up your frankey valley ..

  13. If all the officials dismissed are "Red Shirts" or sympathizers or appointed by the Pheu Thai government than all this is nothing more than routing out the opposition and nothing to do with corruption.

As someone above said...the whole story would be revealed if we knew the affiliation of these officials.

i would have thought if they are corrupt i would not matter who they support..just thieving scum who deserve prison...surely...

  15. If this had happened in my (U.S) country he would have gotten a looooooooooong prison sentence, not a slap on the wrist. Thank God I am a Christian, and life means something to me.

He is not taking about faith per say he is talking about the value ''a life'' has within his religion. Try studying Buddhism and its perception on human life before you call people pathetic.
