Not on Lazada, keep up, no real need to buy the latest, sometimes no noticeable difference
Must be your ancient phone ...Even on lazada!

Can't go wrong with a Xiaomi Redmi Note, latest is a 14, I've just bought a 13 Pro+ for 8k baht, the 14 version is around 15k
Just choose based on what you want to spend, 5k is OK, I buy on Lazada from one of the Xiaomi stores
Latest is a 15 ... Keep up! Lol

Side-tracking a touch out of curiosity:
I've seen a Canadian Embassy 'proof of income letter' and that doesn't have an expiry date, so how long is it valid for, as far as Thai immigration is concerned ... 3 months?
Also, where is this time documented in the Immigration Act? I don't recall ever coming across it before. -

At least the Norwegian Embassy has given a reasonable transition period unlike the Canadian Embassy.
A Canadian friend had no idea they had stopped the Embassy letter for proof of finances until I informed him the other week!
I hope his IO gives him some leeway when he next does his retirement extension. He has now switched to the 65k p.m. option but will be 3 months short of the required 12 months.

One would guess some have done things differently than the 65k monthly transfers.
Perhaps transferring as required etc.
My friend, although capable of meeting the 65k monthly requirements, has only transferred monies as needed.
How long was it after the UK etc. decided to cease the income letters that immigration announced a leniency guide for those affected? -
A related issue:
I have a Canadian friend who will be affected by this as he uses the embassy affidavit route. His retirement extension is at the beginning of February, but he cannot transfer 65k every month because of commitments in Canada until August so he cannot show 12 months of transfers, after that date, he can easily meet the requirements. What are his options?
He does not want the services of an agent!
What are the financial requirements based on the income method if he leaves Thailand and re-enters to start a fresh non-imm O at the end of the year?
Enter visa - exempt, extend and then 3-month non-imm O (show income proof from Canada)
Obtain a 12-month extension ( show 3 months of 65k transfers to Thai bank)
His Canadian pension letters state he has more than 65k after tax deductions and Canadian bank statements to back it up.
Thanks. -

I recently bought a Xiaomi 14T Pro for just under 20k, it came with 10k of accessories and a 4k robot vacuum cleaner! Lol.
I am very impressed with the speed, hypercharge system (20 mins from 10% to 80%), battery life and the Leica camera system, as I recently took up amateur photography.
The reviews on this phone are extremely positive, most stating it has the features of premium phones, some costing twice as much!
I tend to use this phone much more than my old 5-year-old mid-price range phone as it's so much quicker and works flawlessly with Android Auto on my car, unlike my old phone that sometimes suffered with connection issues.
I can understand some people objecting to paying over 10k for a phone, it comes down to whether you want the speed and features which some people don't (or are incapable of using). Each to their own.-

For the UK:
If you have ever been self-employed or completed a self-assessment tax return, you would have been issued a UTR. (Unique Tax Reference) number. This can be found on the HMRC app or Gov. Gateway website. This is the UK version of a TIN.

Old stuff for 34 B/kg. No thanks.
I've never seen any apples that cheap in Tops. Don't you mean 34 ฿ each?
Being pedantic I know. -
In my neck of the woods, the full range of Carabao beers were available in BigC and Lotus's including the IPA. A few months ago they disappeared from the shelves, never to be seen again!
I forgot About Cj stores, a new branch (small) opened a few months ago, I'll have to check there.

Not really. The UK ends 5 April whereas Thailand filing period ends 31 March, a five day difference.
The UK tax year ends on the 5th of April.
The Thai tax year ends on the 31st of December.
That's over a 4 month difference. Filing period is not part of the tax year.

So what, your point is?
Anyway, I'd been to Gt Yarmouth and Blackpool ....So there! 😁13 minutes ago, theblether said:Over the last fifty-four years I've observed more than my fair share of morons, alcoholics, mentally ill, personality disordered weirdos in the expat community. Err, no not really but it shows the places you frequent and the places I tend to avoid. Most of my friends are decent and responsible guys.

Most ex-pats I know have no intention of living in their home country so why try to get their partner citizenship? If sh!t hit the fan then there are many other countries to relocate to with your partner ... If she would go! ✈️

I would recommend FlexAccount Nationwide, they have a 20 pound fixed fee for transfers up to the legal amount, make sure you have someone who can send you a new card reader or ATM card to Thailand, if and when you need one. p.s any card reader from any uk bank will work. I had a card reader that just stopped working (not the battery).
Nationwide send replacement cards to Thailand. I had not realised that mine was expiring and they automatically replaced mine to my Thailand address without me asking. Also, they sent me a new card reader not long ago at my request.
Download the NBS app in the UK.-

Question , if an expat is here on a yearly extension and they are going by the 65,000 baht a month route , that is a yearly income of 780,000 baht.
That is in the tax band of 20% . So if they pay the 20% tax of 156,000 baht this leaves 624,000 baht , which is 52,000 baht a month , doesn't that take them below the 65,000 baht a month required for their extension ?
Thailand uses a sliding scale for tax deductions:
On 780,000 baht the tax due would be 71,000 baht -

The Toyota Fortuner and the Corolla Cross are two very different vehicles.
The Fortuner is built on the Hilux pick-up truck chassis. It's a body-on-frame design which makes it suitable for heavy duty use (off-roading, carrying heavy loads, towing, etc.). This comes at the expenses of fuel efficiency, road handling, comfort and safety. Average mileage per liter of (diesel) fuel is approximately 8 to 9 km/l in urban cycle and 10 to 11 km/l on expressway (13 km/l the estimated fuel consumption by Toyota Australia Specs & Dimensions | Fortuner GX, GXL, Crusade | Toyota Australia).
The Corolla Cross is a unibody vehicle and is more suitable for an urban environment such as the one found in Bangkok.
It is a nimbler, more efficient vehicle with a mileage of approximately 19 km/l in urban cycle and 16 km/l on expressway, for the Hybrid HEV models, the drivetrain of which is optimized for urban use (24 km/l the estimated fuel consumption by Toyota Australia Specs & Dimensions | Corolla Cross GX, GXL & More | Toyota Australia).
The Corolla Cross in Aussie is a different beast than that in Thailand .... 2.0L V 1.8L so it has different fuel consumption. Also, I'm not sure if the Aussie version is a hybrid.
Average fuel economy of 23.3km/l for the 1.8 Hev.
I've got the Corolla Cross GR which benefits from superior suspension and more positive steering.-

Had a look at it, and bought an item, out of curiosity. Prices are much the same as existing platforms for comparable items and they definitely do not offer 90% discounts - the price you see on the description is the price that you pay but on the "Pay" page they show a crossed out heavily inflated "price" to lead buyers to believe that they are getting a big discount.
Agree.
I do like the online website and it's easy to navigate.
The sizing of stuff seems to illuminate the guesswork and giving the models stats is helpful. For me, it's another source of online shopping.

Roi-Et I.O. has been handing out this form haphazardly for at least the past 6 months. A Canadian friend who uses the embassy letter method for his retirement extension was given it in December 2023. I saw them give it to a German national doing his extension (marriage) using the income method last November while I was doing my retirement extension using the 800k in the bank method. I was not asked to fill this form in.
Considering the inferior translation of this form, even by immigration standards, I would guess that it is a 'local' form but let's see if there are any more reports from other I.O.s.-

Thanks for that!
The guy is hard to convince that it is possible to do it quicker and cheaper. I am aware that he used to use intervac some time ago but always had problems.
I've now discovered he's been doing it wrong anyway. Instead of using the 'send' option he's been using the CAD icon and also the pay by debit card instead of a cheaper option available. He's a little technophobic so pictures is the way to go! Lol.
Many thanks to all that have made the effort to help him.
