  1. Just a thought:
My missus has an old Ford Fiesta and at the time and I had an old Suzuki Swift. Both cars were in water (on the drive) up to the door sills but luckily did not flood inside so came out unscathed. Are EV's more likely to suffer flood damage over a comparable ICE vehicle?

  2. Loads of hacks on the internet, it doesn't have to be for a specific model.

This one seems popular:  Read first!

    1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive.
    2. Wait for the "No Disc" message to appear.
    3. Press Pause on the Remote.
    4. Enter 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 on the Remote (the word COdE or FF appears on the display).
    5. Enter 0 on the Remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.).
    6. Press Pause on the Remote.
    7. Power the player off, wait 30 seconds and then power back on.
NB: If the above code fails to work then once the player has displayed the "No disc" message press Stop before entering the above code.

Does that 'sad guy in tow' comment apply to all of us foreigners who are in a long term relationship of 15 years, (or more) and standing in the queue at Lotus or Big C or Makro on a monthly basis with their Thai wife and a trolley full of shopping for the month?

Very narrow-minded viewpoint. No wonder you are single.............

Probably always will be - who'd want to be with someone like you?

My oh my .... Another soul who has lost the ability to read and his sense of humour.

Oh, I said I was single, I never said I was not in a relationship (10 years and still going strong).

Carry on petal and enjoy your shopping, such fun eh?

Not everyone have the same experience as you, or you might only heard it, and no experience yourself at all.

My oh my ..... I see a little sarcasm and dry wit goes way over your head.
I'm single and intend to stay that way for the foreseeable future but I do live in Isaan and often see these sad guys in tow with a couple of laden trollies at the checkout.
As they say: No money no honey ........... Or should it be no trolley no dolly?

I have house built in Suphan Buri District,  my wife has the house registered in her name and has the blue book,    so my question is,  can I have the house registered in my name and

apply for the Yellow House Book ?

I'm expecting the wrath of many about this:
Yes, you can own the property but not the land it's built on. It's a complicated procedure so I'm informed. An acquaintance of mine successfully done this when his wife died who legally owned the house. The land was put in the name of her son and the house in his.

Think you'll find in the future that changing limits will require going to the bank for facial verification.

Once you've had your 'facial recognition' photo done at your branch then you're set to go!

I have my daily transfer limit set to 50k. As an experiment, I've just (successfully) changed it to 2m by using the facial recognition system now in force. Bangkok Bank mobile banking. Immediately returned it to 50k, facial recognition not required when lowering the daily transfer amount. Easy Peasey.

  7. It's a MS account that was opened with a Gmail email address as the contact point. It does not have to have a MS associated email account.

If the notice is read correctly it states that the MS account that has not been used associated with the Gmail address is going to be closed, not the email address.

I got this message from Microsoft account. 'Your account is set to - Microsoft Community

    Personally, I'd just ignore it!

  8. When I read about tragedies like this it just screams out about the lack of basic education and parenting skills.
Many years ago when I was associated with a local school, I made a PPT about road safety with some graphic photos of sustained injuries and deaths.
The attending students just laughed, even though a few weeks previous two of their fellow students were crushed under a 10 wheeler!

People keep saying that the police are at fault for not enforcing the law but how can they if they aren't allowed to be forceful, like confiscation of motorbikes etc. No use increasing fines because the public can't or won't pay, regardless of consequences. The whole culture attitude has to change,  before we will see any improvements in road safety. Don't hold your breath!

If it's soaked into the foam of your seat a steam cleaner would work better

How true I don't know. I came across this:

'Avoid using steam cleaners to clean urine odors from carpet or upholstery. The heat will permanently set the stain and the odor by bonding the protein into any man-made fibers. Avoid cleaning chemicals such as ammonia or vinegar.'

I remember from many moons ago that a carpet cleaning firm I used wouldn't use hot water, only lukewarm. They also cleaned the sofa with a dry foam of some sort.

Just received 2 x 500gm of their Special roast, two days to get here. Very nice taste.

Yes, I ordered the same but received the medium roast by mistake ????

They apologised profusely and offered to send out the special roast next day. As they wanted me to return the order they got wrong, I couldn't be faffed so I'll be keeping it and I'll try it out tomorrow.  Mistakes happen.

Thanks to all who have given me contacts and choices.

  11. My missus has acquired a Philips coffee maker and coffee bean grinder from a friend.

We both love a rich flavour without being too strong and bitter. No doubt it will be a passing fad but for now I'd like to give it a try.

I'm looking for recommendations for reasonably priced fresh coffee beans that can be ordered online as the big stores stock is normally quite old.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. I will stand by what I have experienced, maybe it has been rescinded now with the Covid restrictions gone.

You cannot/could not obtain a non 'O' extension directly from a visa-exempt, it is/was changed by immigration to a tourist visa (last year) using TM87 form from which you can extend if required then apply for a 3 month non imm 'O' using the TM86 form. This can be extended to a 12 month extension for marriage / retirement etc.

  13. I feed my hound in the evening.

A handful of dry dog food then mix in a few spoonsful of cooked OK frozen dog food/left over rice mix which is available in Makro / Big C at ฿46. Also some chopped up cooked chicken breast when I can get it cheap enough.
Dry food is Petzfriend ฿170 x 3kg various flavours. Of course, titbits from meal leftovers and the occasional soft chew stick as a treat.

Ex-Soi dog, now a faithful house hound and lovebug!
