  1. If you have a non-o visa a re-entry permit would only keep the remainder of your current 90 day entry valid.
I think you might be calling an extension of stay based upon retirement issued by immigration a non-o visa. In this case a re-entry permit would only be valid for entry up to the date your extension expires. After that date you would only get a 30 day visa exempt entry unless you got a single entry non-o visa or tourist visa before traveling.

So if a person had a setv not an extension, using a reentry permit wouldn't change or extend the expiration date, just keep it active?

  2. Currently I have a Tourist Visa and am going out of Thailand for a non-O Visa base on retirement as I have multiple Visa Exempts and enough Tourist Visas from Vientiane to warrant a warning stamp.  If I am successful in getting the re-entry permit and then I get the desired non-0 later is it possible to re-enter using the non-0 even though I already have a re-entry permit?

I'm just caculating my options prior to my non-O visa run for possible problems.  Right now if the worst were to happen the re-entry permit will give me at least two more options to get my ducks in a row.

    1. Curriculum Vitae
    2. Official letter from the concerned Embassy/Consulate certifying the monthly income of at least     65,000 Baht
or Official letter from the Bank in Thailand certifying a valid account of at least 800,000 Baht,

and is being held at least 3 months before visa application.
    3. Recent Police clearance or equivalent reference of no criminal conviction
    4. Medical certificate

But is the police clearance from Thai police (  http://www.pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eng/ ) or UK police.  If it's from the UK, he'd have to go back there to get it, which is a bit of a hassle. .]

Ok, I thought Vientiane was asking for a police clearance and medical certificate, not Savannakhet

How would you/her distinguish  "Thai food" from "market food"? Thanks.

I have no idea, but she certainly does.  She frequently cooks up Issan dishes to the delight of her many female friends at the condo complex.

Currently the duck soup sold at the Rompho Market in Jomtien off 2nd Road and Rompho for 50 baht next to Kiss Food & Drink is all the rage here with the Thai community.  They know their tastes, I certainly don't have a clue :-).

Yeah a double burger and fries can run about 200 b at Burger King.  That burger looks pretty darn good I assume hand made patty and looks like homemade bun.  Quite a bit less then Hard Rock or Hooter's I believe.  I will have to check it out.

    That second side is mushrooms?

Actually it was a pasta salad.  Very tasty and well prepared with peanuts and other stuff.  Next time I think I'll try their Aussie Steak.

What's wrong with you? Are you drunk? I said I'd tried them. That's it. I'm glad you like them. I had no problem with the salad and fries they come with, but the ribs were not any good not to mention a small portion.

I've tried ribs all over Pattaya, including the new "Smokin Joes", the established "Rich Man Poor Man", and in between at "Tigglebittes" and off the street from a barrel and out of a supermarket Carre Four and now Big C Extra.

In addition, I was an official judge at the Rib Cook Off at John Asquaries Nuggett in Sparks Nevada and an official taster at Jilly's in Atlanta Georgia and a founding taster at Sonny's Real Pit BBQ. So young man, I know my ribs!

God Bless You and please, don't call me a liar in front of our lord and savior. OO.

Certainly your experiences differ from mine.  Sure RMPM makes great ribs but to discredit other good sources is disheartening.  Perhaps you are the drunk one.

Someone recommended the ribs at Kiss. A complete waste of 179. Baht. Even those on Soi Bouikow at the Issarn style barrel are better. Kiss does a remarkable custom. Serving who I have no clue. But it's always full and making a ton of money for someone or some "group".

Obviously you haven't tried their ribs.  Why don't you try the ribs from Pizza Company?  Or is doing this beneath your elequence and culinary expertise?  Perhaps they are not up to your high lined restaurant bench mark but trust me, they are of great value and they have good flavor.

  8. I've always enjoyed Vientiane, although not quite up to Thailand standards it does have it's positives.

If you enjoy Beerlao, pizza and cheeseburgers you're in luck.  I've found the food to be exceptional and staying at the Best Western, while not quite up to Marriott or Hyatt standards was very comfortable and accomodating without denting your pocketbook too much.  Plenty of temples, goverment buildings and the like to explore if that's your thing.

The Tuk Tuks are okay as long as you communicate before you take a ride, the taxi service was fair, again ask how much before you arrive.

Well, I suppose, but claims of guaranteed returns of 8 percent seems more of a business forum topic.

It's interesting they mention that they already have a production kitchen.

The Bite Me location had a production kitchen. Is that where they mean?

That certainly is good information on all of their brand's options for Sunday roasts!

I removed the photo, if you want back just let me know.  I agree perhaps it was a little bit off topic and even gaudy.  Just trying to stay on topic!
