  1. The law should have been to control remove the vendors not remove the beach chairs. However, it's not just the beach chairs, it's everything the Thai's do. These stupid pricks don't realise that it only takes a couple of videos or bad publicity to ruin tourism. They are certainly doing a great job at that. Another couple of years and all Thai's might as well return home cause there will be nothing left here. If no tourists, then people will close doors, if people close doors then there will be less tourists and the cycle will continue until there is nothing left. Stupid stupid people.

  2. I just checked this site and could not complete my 90 day report because it wants to know the flight number that I arrived on. Why is the departure card not enough information? The last flight I took, when I came home I threw away the tickets because there was no reason to keep them. When I do 90 day reports at immigration they never ask for my flight number. I suspect I am not alone in this boat. Maybe Ubonjoe can bring this up with immigration. They have already recorded my arrival card and flight number when I got here.

if you know the date time airline departure point and arrival point it is not difficult to find the flight number, probably not that critical anyway

Just looked at my departure card (TM6) which is 22 years old and it actually does show my flight number that I entered. I just googled images of current TM6 and it has a spot that says Flight or other Vehicle number.

So what you are saying is that you have never left the country to visit anywhere else in 22 years? Wow.

  3. I wonder if there are any Thais in Swedish jails, and if they have to take a dump with everyone watching.

Don't know how many Thais are in Swedish jails but the cells looks more classy:

    http://freethoughtblogs.com/taslima/2013/12/04/sweden-is-closing-its-prisons-what-about-a-prisonless-world/

looks like an Aussie prison and the the 2 thais extradited to Aust for murder didn't want to go because they claimed Aussie prisons weren't of the high standard offered in Thailand.

Nothing like an Aussie prison. Where's the bed, desk, tv, xbox/playstation (yes I'm serious).

  4. She can't fly if the courts see her as a flight risk, which she is. If they let her travel she would probably go join her brother, and Thailand are still trying to get him back. Maybe they learned from his actions. At least the lawyer is doing his job and fighting for her, I didn't know there was any such thing as a "real lawyer" here in Thailand, at least I'm yet to meet one which will stand up and fight for their client against anyone including police, mafia etc etc.

  5. Employers need to ban smartphones and tablets at work. If I see any of my staff on the phone other than a business call, I make a mental note. if I see them constantly doing it throughout the day, they lose that days pay. I pay staff to work not socialise with friends.

  6. What goes around comes around. I guess he just got in before she did. How many Thai women deceive their partner (s) out of money? Wasn't it only yesterday that I read a report on TV of a man who was to be deported because he had no money and was on overstay because his Thai partner took all his money. Same same… no crime here so let's move on….. next.

  7. The only crime here is the foreigners overstay. It's all good that the Thai woman (most likely deceived him) drained all his money. Now what was that a few weeks ago about the warning to sent out for foreigners doing the same to women here…. can't have that now can we.

  8. Hahaha, well I have been waiting over 1 year for one particular licence, at present we are still operating on a temporary one. The problem is that everything has to be approved from Bangkok instead of each provence being able to make their own approvals. To set up company back home took 1 day, to set up the first company here took 3 months, the second one took 4 months by the time they have finished juggling paperwork, photos, making multiple copies etc etc. Let's hope they can pull it all together.

  9. We can all work this way. From now on lets charge the Thai's 10 times more for entering, using or buying any foreign product or business here in the land of smiles. For any foreign investment they can pay 10 times more return on the investment as well. 10 times more for their airfares, 10 times more for movie tickets (except Thai movies). They want a 2 tier system let's give them one. But it will need the world behind us LOL.

  10. Fairly and consistently pay 10 times more than a Thai? Now that is a contradiction if I ever saw one. How is paying 10 times more fair? Do these people really have a brain or are just plain stupid. I never pay more than my Thai partner, I simply refuse to. Everytime, we go somewhere I show my Thai drivers licence, tell them that I live here and I automatically get the Thai price.

An example of this is when I went to gym the other day. Monthly membership is 2400 for foreigner, 2000 for a local foreigner and 1500 for a Thai. Before I left my Thai partner called to enquire about memberships for her so when I went I knew how much to pay if I was Thai. No arguments or problems, I simply told them that I live here and asked that the local price is 1500 right? Yes sir, that is correct. My friend went one day before and got charged the local foreign price of 2000. Point is, if everyone refused to pay different from Thai they would have no choice but to accept it.

  11. For Thailand to move forward they need to learn to work with Foreigners. The first step in this process is to accept them and treat them as an equal. With kids in government, they certainly need someone to hold their hand and guide them. However, as i mentioned in another post, a blind man can't guide another blind man if they don't listen. The problem is that Thai's never listen cause they always think they are right.

  12. Sounds like someone had a tantrum, please…hand him a tissue. They need to start concentrating on increasing tourism not decreasing it and if kicking off martial law again that will definitely be of the later. You can't lead a blind man if the blind man won't listen and unfortunately Thai's never listen cause they are always right.

  13. This law only seems to apply to the big sellers, 7-11, Tesco and so on. All the small family shops will get an extra income, because they don't care about this restriction - and this makes them really happy, courtesy of the General.

No difference at all the 11-2 and 5-12 law has been in place for years now, maybe 8 years or so.

All bars here were still selling and partying at 3.30am………….. Even 7/11's and Family Marts were selling alcohol at 2am this morning. No wonder bar owners are suffering when the cheap charlies can buy at 7/11 and walk the streets. If they wanted to make some restrictions they could 1) Make it illegal to drink in public i.e. parks, street etc. 2) Introduce the responsible service of alcohol on licence premises. These 2 laws would mean that anyone who wanted to drink would either have to drink at home or would have to drink at a licensed venue bars, clubs, restaurants and would not be able to take the alcohol out onto the street. The licence venue would be able to refuse the sale of alcohol to anyone who they thought was too intoxicated or getting to that point. This would mean more customers for the venues and less crap on the streets.

  14. So if I am reading this correctly, places such as 7/11 stop sales of alcohol at midnight where as bars and clubs which have licences for sale and operation past this time can keep trading. This is a very confusing law and it's not really black and white. If this is the case then that is great news for bar owners cause the cheap charlies will have to go to a bar to get a drink. If everyone has to stop sales at midnight, then the bar and club owners will suffer greatly.
