The Chinese will jump on this and use this as a loophole to buy up land and slowly take over.

Very interesting. After reading this I asked my Thai girlfriend to ready this post. As she was reading it, her smile got bigger and bigger until she started laughing. I asked her about these tones and said is it true, that native Thai use the context of the sentence rather than the tones. She said what he said in the post was true. She said the tones are there, but if you don't use them, it doesn't really matter, because the content of the sentence is more important to be able to understand. She said she laughed when the poster said the tones are a party trick Mai, Mai, Mai etc. It's true sometimes.

Yes they applied, However, applied for does not mean approved.

Trying to compare the flu to this virus doesn't work. The flu does kill some every year. Numbers vary, but it's anywhere from 300-600k each year. A bit less than what we're experiencing now with covid!!
We'll live with it when we get vaccines for it. mRNA technology is amazing and they're working on a combined jab for the flu and CV19. Perhaps even a pill.
Comparing COVID-19 Deaths to Flu Deaths Is like Comparing Apples to Oranges
I didn't compare the virus to the flu, I was stating that boosters will be needed the same as the flu vaccine is, each year.

Show me one that has been fully approved. I'll won't wait while you are trying to find it, because I don't have that much time. There are a few that have applied for full approval, but there are non that have been full approved. They are currently an "Emergency Use Only" medication/vaccine.

Totally agree. Just the Flu vaccination..... imagine that. Yet people still die each year of the flu. They aren't going to stop this. We just need to learn to live with it.

All have been approved for "Emergency Use Only". No covid vaccine has been fully approved and won't be for the next 2 years. This is while manufacturers provide regular updates to the FDA on the safety and effectiveness over this time. These are all still in trial until they get full approval.

The one thing most people are not understanding is that these vaccines have only been approved by the FDA for "Emergency Use" as stated. People seem to skip over this. Approval for emergency use, will last 2 years, while the manufacturers regularly update the FDA on the effectiveness and safety over this time. Not one covid vaccine is fully approved and will not be until this period is up. While these vaccine are only approved for emergency use they are still regarded as, in trial.

If you have spent more time outside of Australia than in Australia over the last 12-24 months, then you would be considered an "ordinarily resident". Therefore, you can leave as long as you can provide this evidence which would be easily done via passport.

"...6. Once pre approved, Book your flight - Singapore airlines are reliable at this time flying out of Australia. "
Did you use SQ?
I'm looking at them for early December (and hoping) their semi-commercial flights are still operating), right now the site quotes very good fare, but I can't get any clear answers re check-in luggage, SQ site quotes 25Kg check-in (and normal 7Kg cabin bag). But wondering about extra check-in luggage:
- Can passengers pay for more check-in luggage?
- How many AU$/Baht per Kg?
I called SQ at Sydney airport, staff weren't sure but suggested that for the very cheap flights passengers cannot exceed 25Kg check-in/cannot pay for extra Kg.
Yes I flew Singapore. You can pay for extra luggage as an option when booking online. I'm not sure of cost but don't think its that much if you do at time of booking. Im a member with Singapore so got 35kg included.

The other thing you can do to maintain control of company here in Thailand is through the allocation of the shares. As you are already aware, a foreigner can only own 49% with 2 Thai owning the other 51%. When you set it up make sure that all the ordinary shares (those with most voting rights) are allocated to you, and the preference shares (those with less voting rights) are issued to the Thai people you use. This way even if they get together and try to vote you out or take over they won't be able to do so, as your votes in the company will always be greater than theirs. You will however, be able to vote them out or change the Thai you use at any given time. That way even with 49%, you will still have and maintain full control of the company. Get a good lawyer to set this up for you.

Returned to Thailand from Aus 2 in April. Extremely easy to do. Step by step:
1. Apply to the dept of foreign affairs and provide your reason for leaving Australia. In my case I just demonstrated that I have lived in Thailand for more than 10 years, have family here, company, house and other property etc. In your case you could do the same if have otherwise tell them you are leaving Australia permanently. (approx 2 days)
2. Apply for whichever visa you wish to enter Thailand on. You can travel on a tourist visa get 60 days and extend a further 30 giving you 90 days, if over 50 you could apply for retirement visa etc etc, this is entirely what suits you. (same day if you go into embassy or consulate office. I made appointment and went to office in Brisbane. Dropped off in morning and had everything back in the afternoon).
3. Get your covid insurance sorted out - AXA are good and not too expensive. They will also pay everything at the hospital for you if ever needed, so no out of pocket expense. Robert Jackson is the agent in Thailand his email is - [email protected]. You can also contact him on FB - https://www.facebook.com/robert.jackson.94064
4. Book your ASQ hotel - again entirely up to you where you prefer to stay.
5. Apply for your COE - https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/?fbclid=IwAR2j7jNjINCqYV-OmYVcAXk3qfBhR-uyR2zN6vmF-LG6fpvk4x8WNQTN_yk. You will complete the first stage and then will get a pre approval. This is relatively quick. I got mine the next day.
6. Once pre approved, Book your flight - Singapore airlines are reliable at this time flying out of Australia.
7. Enter booking information into the 2nd part of the COE and wait for full approval. Again I got mine the same day.
8. Once you have your COE approved. You need to book to have a RT-PCR Covid test for international travel done within 72 hours of flying. I got mine done at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology as they are extremely quick and use their own labs.
9. Complete the T8 form
9. Make 3 copies of everything before flying, to take with you, just in case.
10. Happy travels. Just complete the T6 arrival card as per normal when arriving in Thailand.

No they won't. My partner won't as she has a blood disorder which causes a blood imbalance. She keeps that under control through medication daily. Any vaccine that could conflict with that is not safe for her. A lot of Thai I know and that is a lot, do not want any of the covid vaccines period, especially when none have been fully approved. All current covid vaccines have only been approved for "Emergency Use" by the FDA. They are still in trial for the next 2 years, while the manufacturers monitor and report the effectiveness and safety to the FDA on a regular basis during this time. Anyone getting a vaccine at the moment is a guinea pig and being used as part of the trial, pure and simple.

The entire lottery in Thailand is a scam. Lottery prizes are normally based on the number of entries and amounts raised through ticket sales. If the lottery doesn't go off one week that amount increases the next etc until it goes off. An example is if 1 million people play and each pay $10 per ticket then the lottery prize is approx $10 million, broken down into divisions, less taxes, running expenses etc.
In Thailand say 1 million play and pay 80 baht per ticket, that's 80 million baht in prize money, less tax and expenses. However, the prize money on this would be a <deleted> take 6 million baht. There is a lot more than 1 million people playing Thai lottery. Half the country plays it like an addiction. Considering there is 69 million people in Thailand do the math and for a payout of only 6 million baht each time, it very easy to see the government is ripping the people off blind and that they are clearly running a lottery scam themselves.

Why wouldn't they accept Pfizer? Some countries are choosing Pfizer over other brands. Some countries are or have dropped AZ vaccine which Thailand seems to like. Maybe its a matter of preference of which brand is given by certain countries, but once vaccinated, you are vaccinated. Thats of course if you want to be vaccinated at all. Personally, id prefer to do the 14 day quarantine than get one of these jabs, but again a matter of preference.
-
One would have thought by keeping them locked up it would be better, containing those infected where they are. Think of it as a long term quarantine.

Property prices have fallen. There are also a lot of properties for sale which doesn't help the sellers. Not just condos and houses, but even hotels and resorts are on the market in vast numbers. Not all are advertised or have huge signs, however, look around and speak with people and there are bargains to be had. As for the reasons, well this varies depending on the owners situation. Some have fallen on hard times, some can't get back to Thailand and don't know the they will, some maybe offloading assets to be able to better monitor and keep funds closer to home.

I understand they need to take precautions, but let's have someone with a brain actually make the decisions.
So a tourist who has a week or two vacation, has to quarantine for 14 days? No point in coming, so never going to work.
Wonder if they are still going to put all their eggs in one basket and focus purely on their beloved Chinese again. That was a disaster last time and I don't give a <deleted> what <deleted> TAT numbers are, one only has to use their eyes and look around that the country has been declining since 2014 when the military took over. Remember back 10 years ago, streets were packed with tourists, had to walk on the road because there were too may people on the sidewalk, hotels full, tours full, beaches packed, lucky to get a seat in bars and restaurants and shops and even shops where full. year on year this has been dropping. Now (before Corona), half the bars are closed, restaurants half empty, shops and business struggling, sidewalks empty, beaches still have people but nothing to what it was.

With less tourists the prices have to increase. Its logic!
haha That is the problem. Stupid people with stupid logic like you. Would be better to decrease the prices so more tourists come. More tourists mean more money. Increasing the prices only makes tourists go to other places that are cheaper like Cambodia and Vietnam. You my friend are a fool.

Yep and it will continue until the government and the police do something about it. They are too busy lining up for photos rather than getting off their lazy <deleted> and actually doing their job.

Guess nobody will be losing their licence then. To get a fine or receive a point punishment means the road rules have to be enforced (never going to happen) which means police actually have to do some work besides sit in their boxes or look for helmet infringement by foreigners (never going to happen). I see people braking road rules all the time, right in front of officers and nothing happens. Sometimes I wonder if the police themselves even know the rules.
-
As a migrant worker is not Thai, they should have work permits. Therefore, the government should have a database with names and employment details already.

More TAT lies. Every year they report tourism is better and better while more and more business close down because of the lack of tourist and business. If nobody at all came, they would still say numbers were up. Pathetic people pulling numbers out of thin air in order to justify and keep their jobs.

No, genius. NOT everyone. Just the vast majority who play by the rules, because they can't afford and haven't the means not to. Do you actually imagine Shinawatras using Expedia, CheapOair, and Latestays like the common folk or what?
No dipshit. But regardless of who they pay and bribe in Thailand it won't help them with immigration in a foreign country. They still need to enter and exit through immigration. Even diplomats and royalty (except for the Queen of England) have to abide by immigration and customs rules when travelling. So yes there will be a paper trail of where she is.

Immigration did their job by spotting the fake documents and the dates that didn't match. Nothing to do with that clown at the top. His name didn't even need to be mentioned.
