If they lockdown than they also shouldn't allow the koh larn locals to come to Pattaya. Otherwise they could bring their diseases to here.

Less than 1 percent and mostly people on retirement or chronic medical conditions (which would include me).
If in the past it was acceptable to send people in their late teens and twenties to die in a war than sorry the pragmatism but I find it really acceptable to sacrifice that small percentage (note I am in the high risk group too).

I have been in koh chang when covid started in Thailand last year and the people there were absolutely going crazy out of fear from everyone who was not an islander. Even local expats there were looked at with suspicion.
I am sorry to say but with this mindset of the locals this island really don't desevere to have any tourists at all.
Going crazy for a few covid positives. What a joke.
And if there is covid in every province I don't actually see the point in shutting down some.
Haven't all this lockdowns in Europe proved they aren't working at all?

Oh dear. Well, I have found one absolute treasure, in my eyes. She dresses conservatively, she is a nurse bit she has an unorthodox beauty to her.
I'm on question 10 now, she has only asked "what job you do?" I'm a teacher but I also run a small fintech business from home (Australia) , so I don't think my profession is off-putting.
I don't want to give this one up. I'm so, so picky. I have about 200 girls I don't like back on Tinder.
Come on dude! What are you losing time for? Thing about a nice place to go near home and ask her to go there with you!

We need to lockdown the roads as soon as we reach a critical point or maybe reduce the allowed driving hours.

I don't know but everytime I have a girlfriend I start to feel bored and sad.
I prefer much more being single (but not alone, just changing girl every time I want to go out or dinner or on a trip) and I enjoy my "freetime" sometimes and the not having to be afraid everytime I look at my phone or having to entertain someone.
It actually also costs much less than having a girlfriend.
How is the saying?
Gf = double expenses and half fun

I choosed to live in Jomtien and especially during this pandemic times I am happy that I do as it's not as dead as central Pattaya due to the many locals and the beach live is also better as there are more thai families and less hookers on or nearby it.
The distance from the action can be a positive or a negative, but if you are a resident it's a good thing, because you don't get tempted to go out drinking everyday.
My way of going out is anyway more going to restaurants with a girl than barhopping and Jomtien has a lot of restaurants to choose from.

Anti-establishment Party 5 star movement governing this mess of a country with the very well established and arch-rival so called "democrats" is a joke... Looking to stay in power at all costs to keep getting a salary the longest they can as most of both parties would lose heavily all on the cost of the poor small entrepreneurs and companies that has to suffer during this pandemic and don't even get government helps because this clowns are making palace games instead of trying to self the economy.
What a shame!

Wow! 900 factory workers tested positive? This Covid must be a very dehabilitating sickness...

Oh... I couldn't go to Thailand last autumn and now I can't go due to work and maybe not even in spring if they lockdown the country again and don't allow foreigners in again... Wonder if I get to pay this too and how much the fine will be if I didn't pay on time.

Why are this "experts" always focusing on big spenders?
Thailand actually needs all kind of tourists, even the backpackers are important.
They go to low price guesthouses and eat street food giving a job and income to many lower end thaid that own this cheap food stalls, restaurant and guesthouses.
Big spenders usually go to expensive hotels and restaurants which are mostly owned by foreign chains and not thais.

In September before my vacation in Mexico I bought a travel insurance from AXA called MeMondo which is valid for 1 year (120 days per trip) covers 10.000.000 € for medical expenses including covid and when they sent me the policy there was an extra Certificate attached to attest this. It was also pretty convenient and I bought it thinking that in March I will go back to my condo in Thailand.
I wonder if this would be accepted in Thailand?

Thailand is a very low risk country. But it won't be for very long if they were to start letting Covid-infested foreigners enter. Thank god that Thailand appears to know that.
Well it doesn't matter if you are covid infested if you have to quarantine anyways and do 4 tests in total to be sure you are not released with it.

I own a condo, a new royal enfield bike and usually spend 6 months a year in thailand spending about 100.000 baht/month.
I would love to come back even with the 2 weeks quarantine but the 500.000 baht in bank nonsense makes it impossible... ???? instead I am holidaying in mexico right now.
They need to stop the crying about no tourist and just let ALL people who can afford the quarantine in. There is no difference between someone who has 500.000 baht in the bank and quarantines and who doesn't.

How do you protect the vulnerable in society while opening the doors to infected people?
That exposes everyone to infection?
Sorry I didn't express myself well...
I meant they should scrap the quarantine and let people in only with a test prior and after landing.
Who is afraid to catch it (older people or people with pre existing conditions) should stay at home voluntarily (quarantining themselves).

MEXICO, baby. ????
No, it's not in SE Asia. But a great option for now.
So I have booked my flight already to go spend all the money I made for my usual (thai) autumn holiday of 3 months at the riviera maya in Méhico this year... ????????????
Thai health ministry denies they are giving free jabs to expats - Thais come first

Well... if they exclude farangs from jabbing than they should also exclude farangs from the mandatory mask wearing or other covid related rules.
