OP-NO, they are not even letting mail in from other countries atm. Thailand is currently in the spotlight as the most covid free country in the world (according to the local news) and are not going to jeopardize that for your few thousand baht.
But they seem to have no problem to let elite visa holders in where a 20 years one is cheaper than the average condo

Well they have to make money to survive. What do you expect?
Maybe if they get a monthly check as some of the government paid doctors you read telling their <deleted> here they would stop working and practice social distancing.

My younger sister and 2 friends got diagnosed from a hospital. They were all asymptomatic.
Several others felt sick but didn't go to check for fear of being quarantined for 2 weeks.

"Medical professor recommends delay of travel bubble for at least 6 months"
It should read
Medical professor recommends auto isolation of Thailand from the rest of the world for at least 6 months

I would never want to have a relationship with a girl from Bangkok for the simply reason that this would imply me to have to visit that busy, full of traffic and polluted town that is Bangkok. The way many Bangkok people thinks of being superior to the rest of Thailand is also something that puts me off having a relationship with a girl from there.
But I am always okay if I can date one for a few days while on an island vacation lol.

Why not let this surely small group back in? This just seems malicious now.... And I thought that the Elite Visa was not eligible for a work permit... see the chart.
And also seems that the government completely forgot about the foreigners who own a property in Thailand.
Me for example own an apartment there but am stucked in Europe and have to pay rent for staying here even during the months I usually would be in Thailand...

1) grab isn't cheaper
They can offer their price and I am sure they will find taxis working for them as they are actually more expensive than the normal price - copied from my first comment
1 hour ago, ThomasThBKK said:2) of course they need to pay taxes, like everyone else who earns money. ???? What do you think how much taxes am average taxi driver pays here ????
Hahaha is this sarcastic?
Surely the average taxi pays more than a grabcar who works completely in black and could be charged for that if he pays 1 satang as tax
1 hour ago, ThomasThBKK said:2) licenses cost nothing, this isn't new york
Prove please. Well than what's the problem for the grab car drivers to get one.
1 hour ago, ThomasThBKK said:3) normal taxis drive too on grab
Yes it's called grab taxi but the problem is grabcar.
1 hour ago, ThomasThBKK said:5) what are you even talking about, people LOVE grab because they don't get ripped off, that's it
If you ask the fare in advance and agree or use meter than where is the rip off?
1 hour ago, ThomasThBKK said:6) couldn't be bothered to hire a taxi at night, they don't want to drive one anyway in bangkok
? Plenty around

Of course Grab drivers can offer cheaper prices. They operate without a licence which has a cost to get and as they are illegal anyway they also don't have to pay taxes.
I am curious what would happen in case you have an accident in one of those cars...
I am not against Grab, it is basically a good idea and it's just natural evolution of the job but they have to comply with rules and regulations and therefore employ cars and taxis that have a licence.
They can offer their price and I am sure they will find taxis working for them as they are actually more expensive than the normal price (if the red car doesn't rip you off).
Taxis in Bangkok and Chiang Mai are actually ridiculously cheap (Pattaya and Phuket not but that's another issue) and it's funny how people don't complain to pay a 1000 baht bill in a bar but than complain to pay the taxi driver who has to wait around until 2 am just to bring drunken people home for mere 60 baht.

Happened to me two years ago when they started with this bulls hit... Went to Jomtien immigration for extension and they told me to pay a fine (I was in a Hotel and never heard of this before).
So what I did was went to ban Chang, checked in a Hotel and told them to do the TM30, paid and went with their receipt straight to the Rayong immigration (in Ban Chang). Got the extension without any problem and spent the night at the bar street there. Next day I went back to Patts.

You can also go in one of the Thai banks and ask what they have listed for sale. You can find lots of apartments for a bargain in almost every thai province.
In fact sometimes they even have an Expo in the shopping malls

I am very surprised (positively) from the authorities in this case. I followed it since it came out last Sunday and even if I find the pictures disgusting and stupid to do such thing in sacred places I have to say that the 5.000 baht fines is much more proportional to the gravity of what they did to many other wishes of fine that other people (and mainly wannabe Thai expats) suggested.

I am 31 and living here and yes like some other member said just look around a bit and maybe you can find some friends my age.
As for me I am not interested as you are not single...

I not see much difference between thai families and Italian ones. We also have bigger families and we usually have one pair of the grandparents living in the house (of course separated apartment) and me and my sisters give some money to my parents. But we will get mostly back as we will get an apartment sooner or later...
I guess in Northern Europe it's much different but I don't know...

It always amazes me how they are able to find new ideas to make it hard for tourists to enjoy simple things like a beer on the beach.
They better go clean it instead of making stupid rules!

I have been to Koh samet for 3 times and never paid any national fee... I would pay if they ask and at the ticket gate I always greeted the guards and they greet me back. Nobody checks and nobody ever mentioned about national park ticket.

Hello!
I plan to have a motorbike tour from Pattaya to Koh Kood and I would like to know which ferry I have to use if I want to bring my bike with me (I don't want to park it on the mainland just for renting a scooter when on the island).
Thank you for advice!

He is the first guy who can say: "I got fined by police for having sex in Pattaya" lol
Sense of the story: its safer not to pay for the girl ???

So an infected person can't pass it on if they are on meds? That was not my understanding.
Yes so it is... google Swiss Statement or couple study hiv.
Like someone on here said the way the people think about this disease (like 30 years ago) and how it is medically threated now is completely another story.

Reading the comments I must to say that Jingthing is a very educated person and probably one of the few who think about every point of view before making a comment... and yes I think there is more to know about the news than what is written
Car rental vs taxi for short trip

From Pattaya to Ban Phe I always go by scooter as it's just 1 hours drive cutting through Khao Chichan Road.
