  1. I am very surprised (positively) from the authorities in this case. I followed it since it came out last Sunday and even if I find the pictures disgusting and stupid to do such thing in sacred places I have to say that the 5.000 baht fines is much more proportional to the gravity of what they did to many other wishes of fine that other people (and mainly wannabe Thai expats) suggested.

  2. I not see much difference between thai families and Italian ones. We also have bigger families and we usually have one pair of the grandparents living in the house (of course separated apartment) and me and my sisters give some money to my parents. But we will get mostly back as we will get an apartment sooner or later...

I guess in Northern Europe it's much different but I don't know...

  3. Hello!

I plan to have a motorbike tour from Pattaya to Koh Kood and I would like to know which ferry I have to use if I want to bring my bike with me (I don't want to park it on the mainland just for renting a scooter when on the island).

    Thank you for advice!

  4. Good for her that they cover her face in the picture and don't name her in the article.

I read many other news sometimes really embarrassing for the victim as well where the victim get named and the face can be seen.

It seems like russians have far more rights in Thailand than farangs of other countries.

Honestly now she should get named too as no sign of rape but she ruined the reputation of the guy in news before.

This rape thing is often used from women to damage a guy when they don't get what they want.

  5. Of course I have a receipt, my gf talked to other "thai" co-owners who moved the aircon from the floor up next to the roof and they told her they never had problems doing so.

It is not installed between my unit and the neighboor but on the wall of my balcony, it is installed on the side far away from the neighboor. My unit is a corner unit.

After I paid the deposit for doing the renovation the owner asked me to borrow her 5.000 baht that she needed to pay her mothers "hospital" bill which of course I didn't gave her.

  6. Hello TV members,

last month I renovated my condo and had to pay 20.000 baht deposit to the condo management for being allowed to start the works.

I decided also to change the position of my aircon outside on the balcony which was situated on the floor I put it up on the top to make more space on the balcony. As soon I installed it there the condo manager told me to install it again where it was before otherwise they will not give me the deposit back. Now I must to say that about 40% of the other units has it on the top like I have it now too and so this is just an excuse from the manager to keep that 20.000 baht. Its nowhere written that I can not install it where I have it now.

My plan now is not to pay the maintenance fees (about 12.000 baht) for the first year as the management already stole 20.000 bahts from me. I find it fair, but what would you advice me. Would you do the same in my case and what problems could I face? Thank you for help!

Ah, when I went to ask the deposit back when the renovation works were finished and the manager refused to give it back to me and I said she steals it her answer was:"Welcome to Thailand"

  8. I am about the same age of the op and live in thailand about the same time aswell.

I must to say that my personal experience is that every year that passes it is more easy to find decent girls and also free rides.

But yes, I stopped going to discos to find girls but go there with friends or girls that I know before mostly trough approaching them in public area as shops, bank, shopping malls or through internet (yes you can use technology in your advantage too).

The average thai girl doesn t like discos anyway. They prefer to visit quiet places which are chilling (shiu shiu and sabai).

  9. @ inzman

So what do you do when they write you out the fine and keep your driving license???

Would like to know your smart answer!

Looks like he already answered. Maybe it was too smart for you to understand? ask a friend to explain.
What I understand is not to pay for not being an idiot and let them keep my license, mai pen rai...
