  1. Deport.

Not familiar with the laws there but I don't think any country can "deport" citizens almost by definition of the word deport. I assume a large portion of Australian Muslims are full citizens.

Many of them are Arabs with Australian passports. Not citizens.

  2. ........."Acting on answers to questions they asked Wilai, police then went to a rented room in Nanai Rd in Patong where Kanyaporn Khunthong, 28, and Alessandro Famondi, 38, from Italy, were arrested after being found in possession of 10 grams of marijuana."

...there is a term for such behaviour....

Heroic? I salute them for informing the police where to find more drug dealing scum.

  3. The thought is good but I doubt the political will power is there. The urge to try to squeeze foreigners of every penny and treat them as unwanted aliens, still prevails. Langkawi is a much better alternative. Not necessarily because it is a more scenic and interesting place, but because it's in Malaysia, a country who treats it's visitors with dignity and respect, unlike Thailand. Hey, a foreigner can even own land there.

  4. I read some really bad reviews on this beer from McEwans. If you want to try I think Signature is the best of them. But will find out next time . I have stocked up with Wells Waggle dance for the next days.....

If you read the reviews on beeradvocate.com or ratebeer.com, then it will always be a bad score unless it's a super bitter IPA or a 10% "imperial" something. Even some of the nicest British beers receive bad reviews. It's a very very pro US and Belgian crowd.

  5. Official number of road fatalities per year: 26000

Divided by 365: 71 a day. So using statistics, 58 deaths is pretty good.

There is obviously something very Thai going on.

I believe that those statistics only relate to deaths at the roadside. If you die in the hospital or from injuries in the following days they are not counted. As well, many deaths in the remote regions of the north and in hill tribe districts are not even registered at all.

However I stand to be corrected.

You are correct. The 26,000 number comes from international organizations that use internationally accepted methods of calculation. The official thai numbers are more statistics friendly, and only counts victims dead at the scene as fatalities. If you die in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, you are only counted as "injuried".
