  1. Big loss of face losing in your national sport to a "farang". Ha ha ha.

    partytime2.gif

The joke is on you, ignoramus. He was competing in K-1 kickboxing, which is a Japanese combat sport. It is NOT the same as Muay Thai. It's like tennis and badminton. Different rules.

Regardless, he lost clearly despite the gift of a draw and extra round and ran away instead of doing the extra round and losing on national tv. Buakaw is overhyped and far from the best nak Muay in Thailand. He should retire ASAP. He lost a lot of his international goodwill from these stupid actions.

  2. This country needs a Lee Kuan Yew to lift up the WHOLE population and modernize the country. Is there aThai person out there who is an extremely smart pragmatist, willing to learn from anyone (including foreigners) and who is totally honest with only the best interest if the country in mind, with the backing of the armed forces, police and general public, who can lead Thailand? No, I doubt it.

  3. You can buy prepared salads at any supermarket and many have salad bars that you can mix yourself if you want. No need to wash anything as ready to eat. But water in Bangkok is as clean as anywhere and drinkable. Heat up some hot dogs or ham for meat content if you want.

All you need is hot water for Mama type noodle dishes.

Frozen entree type dishes are available everywhere - even 7-11.

Hotdogs and mama noodles? I thought he slanted healthy food, not junk food.

  4. So here are Brenda Leyland's tweets

    http://greptweet.com/u/sweepyface/sweepyface.txt

Although it is being reported that she abused the McCanns she had no contact with them and I don't believe that either of them are on Twitter. What she actually seems to be doing is pointing out all of the discrepancies and lies the McCanns have told about the case on her Twitter feed. From what I've read of it (there's a lot of Tweets and it goes on for nearly a year) she is openly discussing the case with other people on Twitter so she may well be entitled to do this under free speech. The way the media are reporting it and using the "I am entitled to do that" without context makes it seems like she was a dangerous person who was sending the McCanns abuse directly and showing no remorse for it, but it doesn't appear to be the case when you read through what she was discussing.

What you fail to address is that when the media attention turned upon her, she chose to kill herself rather than accept the consequences of her actions, which where undeniable. So therefore we can rightly assume that whilst she had anonymity she was more than happy to discuss the details of a case that she knows so little about.......... but once the spotlight turned upon her she was not willing to have her life undergo microscopic inspection. Dare I also suggest Kun Matt that if you ever encountered a tragic situation you too would not want your personal and private life exposed in front of the media and the keyboard jackals who would bay for your blood. There is such a thing as innocent until proven guilty and we should respect that fact before casting further aspersions.

    JAF

Well said! People like "kunmatt" and this woman troll represent the lowest form of life on the internet. Truly disgusting.

  5. <p>

    All the evidence fits perfectly:-

    • The crime was commited by 2-3 males
    • The hair found in Hannah's hand was blond and the Myanmar suspects hair was dyied blond at the time of the murders
    • The Myanmar suspect bought LM cigarettes the night of the murder, CCTV footage
    • The guitars were found in their room
    • Hannah's phone had blond hair on it also linking the Myanmar suspect with blond hair
    • The DNA from the semen matched the DNA from 2 of the Myanmar suspectsy.
    • CCTV footage shows the 3 Myanmar suspects together on a motorcycle the night of the murders
    • CCTV footage of an Asian man fleeing the crime scene matches one of the Myanmar suspects profiles
    • The suspects had been interviewed previously the day after the murders and said they were near the crime scene playing guitar and singing the night of the murders
    • Sean's testomony was maybe paranoya, due to the fact that he was known to take illegal substances that cause paranoya. Fitting up the big bosses son might lead him into being frightened for his own safety.
    • DNA evidence proved not to match the crime scene from Sean's accused family together with witness testifying one of the suspects accused was in fact in Bangkok at the time of the murders
Of course this could have also been manufactured evidence to blame 3 innocent men and take away the suspicions cast apon one particular family on Ko Tao. It is suprising that every bit of evidence fits so well. It's like they have been looking for a migrant to take the fall and in the process of taking DNA from all the people on the island they have been looking for someone to match the profile of the CCTV footage of the ASian man fleeing. Not that hard to do as most Asian men look like this. The one thing that they(RTP) do seem to be missing is blood stained clothing, cuts or abrasions on the suspects or blood stains in the room or on the motorcycle they own.

Well, out of all this we can surmise two points:-

    • The Thai police are corrupt.
    • Under international scrutiny in such a high profile case that was front page news around the globe. Saving face is all the bureaucrats want.

Looks like they may have the right people, but that doesn't change the need do a police reform. Look at how poorly the investigation was handled and look at the levels if mistrust against the police in this case and in general. Something must be done.

  6. The BBC should get involved with this considering it was their citizens murdered.. Do a complete investigation and uncover the truth for the families. Even if they never get brought to justice at least the the world will know who was responsible.

I absolutely agree. This is so shameful that the whole world and EVERY Thai should know how their police force operates. When exposed in a panorama documentary, the pathetic defamation laws would not be of any help. This is going to be an acid test for the new regime's reform agenda. Is it real or not? How they deal with this case is now the perfect test. This is not only a murder case, it demands an investigation of the police and authorities on this island. Does the new PM have the strength and will to reform the police?

  7. Very disappointing. These islands have a strong reputation for drugs and foreign embassies warn about local gangs attacking and robbing tourists.....and they deal drugs and rob with IMPUNITY, which means the police is either implicated or totally incompetent in enforcing the law and security of visitors (and others). It looks like the new government only will install a few CCTVs and not do anything with the underlying cause. Sad.

  8. They need help. Scotland Yard must become involved, or they can seek assistance from FBI, and start a professional investigation. There is still hope, but not if they don't seek assistance from abroad. Why is it so difficult to admit that they can't do it? Even professional police forces from EU will ask FBI and Scotland Yard for assistance from time to time, and they never feel ashamed.

  9. She will be given a glorious tour and told the obligatory lies that there are no drugs or binge drinking going on there, no mafia and underworld. Everything perfect, except for this one "incident". She will leave and everything will be like before, except from a couple of CCTVs here and there operated by the ultra competent local police.

    Please prove me wrong!

  10. you would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh at all these 'announcements'. Chinese man bashed over the head with iron bars by 4 assailants, all well known tour guides, many witnesses, photo's taken, arrests so far ? none. What hope is there that the Koh Tao murders will be solved, right, none.

The police needs to go through a total change, in every way and especially in terms of personnel. They should fire ALL of them and rehire a few, like other countries successfully have done. Local Thais I know have no respect for the police. They respect the army a lot but not the police at all who are seen as a group of criminals with no pride, but even they have been shocked how bad things are in the police after recent events.
