The thai police has zero credibility so this "investigation" has zero credibility. I am just waiting for them to conclude that 1. There is no camp or that they all had a good time in camp but a few of them died of natural causes. Just waiting for the lies and excuses to start.

Now the stakes have been upped. The international community now has a legitimate reason to interfere in thai politics. This is beyond shocking. The murderers and kidnappers have to be arrested AND sentenced to death, even if they are friends or family of higher ups. Innocent men, women and children have been kidnapped, abused and murdered in Thailand and some thai officials had to know about it. Thailand should face full sanctions unless they bring ALL culprits to justice, otherwise these scumbags should face justice overseas. These murderous beasts are now walking freely in Thailand. They are the lowest forms of scum on the earth, and Thailand has so far done NOTHING to bring them to justice for their gruesome crimes. What a country!

They haven't arrested AND convicted even one boat owner or captain for kidnapping, abuse etc. They haven't suggested huge fines and closure of business involved in severe violations of the law. All these measures suggested are useless, because of all the corruption in Thailand. The only thing that helps is severe punishments of ALL (yes, including the seafood barons of Thailand) for involvent in legal activities. Until that happens, the measures are a joke, and Thailand should NOT escape sanctions.
If they avoid sanctions, it will be business as usual, with human trafficking, abuse and overfishing.

This is proof that there are some extremely evil people in higher places in Thailand, people who would have been locked up in prison for life in a civilized country, but here they are living protected lives in luxury, earned by sucking the blood out of the poor and helpless, whether they are slaves on the fishing boats or trafficked refugees. This stain will not go off Thailand. It shows the outside world that the Thai governments of the last decades, have done NOTHING to combat these evil people, which is the same as assisting them in their evil doings.

Brewdog Punk IPA - ugly bottle, but the best beer in Thailand. The draft is really good - but only available; in a few places - HOBs, Roadhouse, Royal Oak.
Villa has it - both on Soi 11, and at Soi 33/1.
It's one of the best from Brewdog.

What? They were Muslims? What a surprise....
That religion needs to be banned. It's the only way.

Thailand's behavior has been so disgusting over the last decades when it comes to slavery and human trafficking, that I have zero sympathy for the slave owners and corrupt officials who will now take a hit. They should all be arrested, but so far none has. Until these boat owners, captains and corrupt officials faces charges for murder, kidnapping, torture, assault, trafficking, document forgery, crimes against the environment etc, Thailand should bear full sanctions BOTH from USA and EU.
The junta has the power to arrest AND convict these criminal. What are they waiting for?

Why? Druggie scum gotta pay the price.
You are sick. What if they were your kids???
I have seen first hand how heroin destroys family and lives, and the Bali nine was smuggling enough to ruin thousands and lives and families, and they were NOT ignorant mules. They are scum indeed.

Hopefully the EU will cripple them, it the only way they will learn, even Prayut is just all mouth & the big corruption still goes on with no intention to be stopped.
the only way Thai's learn is through loss of money so bring it on EU and teach these idiots something.
Do you live in Thailand, or are you saying this because any potential bans will not effect you?
Maybe he cares about people who are slaves. Maybe he cares about human trafficking.
Do you?
Perhaps he cares about cheap seafood, regardless if it required the toil of thousands of tortured slaves.

Not again! Get your jollies and then kill the victim seems to be the national pass time here. How many rape and murders have their been here in the last six months... We can start with Kho Tao if you want to start a bit earlier. No one seems to be excluded... British tourist, child asleep in a truck in Hua Hin, child on the train... woman waiting behind the factory to meet her brother. There seems to be no end to it of it here. Enough!
As a white man, I would safer living in Harlem then being a tourist here ( I live here and know how to protect myself with a little extra insurance) . I'm safe when I walk around not only are the Thai's afraid my 28kilo pitbull the Thai dogs run from her. I think next time I go to Pattaya or Patong I'll lend my services as an free escort with my pet from the hours of 12 mid-night until 4am , that should be fun on Bangla Rd.
Any takers?
Why would you go to Bangla Rd in Patong? Worst place in Phuket, full of human garbage and trouble.

The African-american community in USA should take their part of the blame, for not cleaning up their community's love affair with gangsterism, crime and thuggery. Until that happens, they will have to accept that they will be treated with suspicion by most non-blacks.

It is amazing how much the flavour of a beer changes with changes to its temperature. That is why most people drinking cheap factory lagers like Singha, Tiger, Heineken etc, wants their beer "ice cold". They simply don't like the real taste of their favourite beer.

I wonder how much they have stashed away overseas, because they are always ALLOWED to leave the country once they are "caught". This guy has 30 days to get out and prepare his exile. What a joke. If they are serious about combating graft, then arrest him first, freeze the assets and all travel documents.

If Thailand doesn't drop the charges in this case, than it is a very good indication that the so called effort in combating human trafficking is nothing but a sham, and Thailand should remain in tier AND be subject to severe sanctions.
So far, the junta's "campaign" against human trafficking been nothing but words. No profiteers of this disgusting trade has been prosecuted, but these whistleblowers have.

Now your starting to see what I knew all along Unless BOT comes out with new exchange rate along the lines Of say 44 to 1 USD that would in deed give Thailand a shot in it's economic engine that is needed. It would not only create more jobs and investments inflow but exports would double Construction would reboot defaults would halt because of new jobs allowing people who owe money earn and pay it back. The rate I suggested would have to remain in place at least 2 to 3 years then slowly adjust up wards. I would also venture a guess the expats living here would go on a buying spree unseen in Thailand in years Tourism would double if not triple. Crops prices would rise to to demand of feeding all the people coming into Thailand. And the BOT would be thought of as a genius. It boils down to supply and demand, You have the supply you need to create the demand.
.....and Ferraris, gold, Gucchi bags, foreign holidays and foreign property etc will all be more expensive. How dare you suggest policies that will benefit Thailand over the elite.

Yet the supported Baht stays strong!
But when it finally crashes, what will they say then?
Well...they will probably blame it on foreign speculators.

Has anyone of you tried the Bateman's 2013 Vintage Ale yet? I have been harvesting every bottle I can find. Their expiry dates are 2038 (not the thai calendar). Forgot which month though.

I would imagine some Samui locals are very angry after the raids on the powerful figures there last month. How come they are not suspects or are they all in jail?

Good! I like the development in Phuket now. They are really going after some of these thugs and criminals. I hope they continue to clean the streets.

For those who love beer, checkout www.wishbeer.com, which offers about 400 different beers and shipping all over Thailand, sometimes cheaper than the supermarkets.
For british beers, Villa Market has an unparalleled variety. They offer beers from Theakston, Titanic, Wells, Young's, Courage, St Austell, Hook Norton, Wadworth, Beer Kitchen, Sambrook's and McEwans. For fullers beers, the Central Stores have them.

What a HUGE mistake! The thai people (from the elite to the poor) don't want anything to do with Russians or their products. It is a country more mismanaged than any ASEAN country. If the generals are doing this to piss USA and EU off, they risk pushing them into the hands of Thaksin, who can be their "man" in getting back into Thailand. At the same time, when Thailand is flooded with ill behaved Russians and Chinese, and further alienated from the west, the people (including the elite) will turn against this government. They need to stop flirting with the devil, because they will get burnt. This is tragic.

Good riddance! They need to get rid of all these taxi cooperatives. Taxis should wait at designated taxi stands and not clog up a bus station.
