Yes, Laguna wants ALL your money!
Not just 99%, ALL of it!
They should just put a clause into each persons check-in paperwork: "You will spend all of your money with the Laguna complex" No exceptions!
Not even Nikki Beach Club (or whatever they've changed their name to)
Er, this is at Mai Khao Beach, so not Laguna. Anyway Dream Beach Club (ex-Nikki) at Layan is on leased land, so Laguna no-can-do anything.

Well then Bob - it seems you have already got all of the insight you need. You can see they way these estates are heading.

Hats off to the police....oh, wait..

Nikki Beach Club closed mid year reopened in mid-Dec as Dream Beach- they are having a black and gold party hosted by Ministry of Sound.
Come with plenty dough, and be prepared to mix with the arabs/ruskies.

Correct - the buoys get nicked. That's why fishermen etc use large plastic bottles and so on.

BREAKING NEWS: 'Perhaps I was having too much fun': Missing British backpacker tells the world he is safe and well on Thai island… but his worried family reveal he STILL hasn't contacted them
They found him on the beach He is just a bawbag.- Jordan Jacobs, 21, from Wiltshire, went missing in Thailand on Saturday
- He messaged his family saying he could never see them again
- He then called his mother telling him the man would not let him leave
- Jordan has now taken to Facebook to say his parents were 'overreacting'
- Thai police said he was found safe - but family have yet to speak to him
- Foreign Office also reported him found, but his family still waits for news

Thalang fish market. On the right behind 7/11 just before the traffic lights as you approach the main (Thepkasattri) road coming from cherngtalay.

Child dentist Chalong area?
Wouldn't you rather have a full-grown dentist?

Cassia Bangtao. Brand new. Nice one bedroom suite in middle of Laguna, near the (largely unspoilt) beach but also near the shopping and restaurants of Tinlay Place, Boat Avenue Villa Market etc. Also the connected free transport between all Laguna Hotels for a change of scene. Forget the rest. Do your friends a favour and recommend this.

Bangtao Beach. You're welcome.

I had lunch I Tony's last week. He has a monopoly at the moment, so it's 80B for a soda, and 120 for a heineken.

<deleted> can a raid team of 50, lose 2 guys on a small island??

Any major Laguna hotel, directly on Bangtao beach. the following have great rates at the moment:
- Dusit Thani (low season rate includes breakfast)
- Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort
- Angsana.
You have a car - there are fantastic restaurants nearby just outside Laguna entrance, for great evenings out.

Waya Cafe Boat Avenue is good and has all you need. If no transport then the bakery in canal Village, but it's pricey unless your Laguna Hotel has given you a discount card.

No need to thank me.

Clear the mofos already......

Anyone tried Bampot at Laguna? Any good?

Yeah it's all well good to be arguing over the world imploding, but meanwhile my view Is going to be wrecked by 190 new shoebox condos at Layan Beach.
The bright side is that it may motivate me to get out there and buy another place with a better view.
Just one slight problem - selling your old one first (the one with the about to be ruined view)
-
er, New project Layan Beach, folks?

It's 190 tiny condo units. Read it and weep.

The barrio's not gone for good - just for the time being. Have another look leading into the next high season........

It's either "Tony's" or "Paul's". Either way, <removed> nonsense.

after years and years of allowance, 7 days seems a little short to me.
It's not years of allowance. these structures have appeared in the last few months, AFTER the other original joints at this location were cleared last year. They will keep coming back unless large fines are put in place, and so far that has not happened in any such case.
Just demolish the day they are open for business. Never mind the fines, make then pay for building, and demolish. No profit then, end of the story.
I'm not familiar with this area.
Is it just because they're illegal that people are hostile towards them, or were they doing something else wrong?
Just asking
It's because it's illegal and they keep coming back as if they have a right to occupy public land despite the authorities clearly telling them otherwise (all over the island)

Look let's face the facts. The mayor was doing very nicely before the purge and would like them to return as his income is substantially reduced, only he can't be seen to take that position, so he pays lip service when required and only responds to the encroachment at a late stage when forced to by higher authority. No more need be said. These chancers will return in force eventually when this issue is no longer a high profile "flavour of the month"
Looking for insights in Phuket estate developments Koh Kaew area (Sansiri, Land&Houses, etc)

Have you considered Laguna Park at Laguna? The problems with estate houses you mention are unlikely to exist, and the prices seem OK for what (and where) you get.
