Inflation is falling, not soaring, it's a major issue for the bank, April CPI was -3%:
The ever weakening USD is a concern when it comes to Baht strength, people have been dumping the Dollar which is causing it to weaken. The main reasons for that fall are the riots, and the high level of borrowings, as a result THB looks like a very sound and stable currency since government debt is below 42% of GDP.
Sure the debt is low, as they don't spend a single THB on social welfare to feed and house their people in need, like developed countries do.

Fully agree, their service in Thailand sucks. If sometimes zo9u have to wait weeks for spare parts, as they have to order them from abroad. I hate Apple but my employer forces us to work with their products.

proving once again the low intellect of the ministers, whose 'jobs' are handed out irrespective of merit or experience in those areas;
just test the workers, yes, one-by-one; and extend the period , if they pass the test, to the end of the year;;
thailand crumbles without the 2-3 million migrant workers
Not sure if it would crumble. Too many people now outta work, soecially from the tourism business. They easily could fill in these places, just would have to start really working and not playing with heir phones during woking hours

I option for retro style. Bring it back to the 90-ies look, also price wise, without Chinese, Indians and Arabs with strollers and kids.

" He added that only tourists from certain countries may be allowed to visit Thailand - namely countries where the COVID-19 outbreak is deemed to be under control.
And any tourists that are allowed to travel to Thailand will only be able to do so under a number of restrictions. "
Good job by Khun Prayut Chan O Cha.
Did you apply for citizenship ?

Also they counted too much on the Chinese, now they pay the bill, as Thailand does.
Sad for the people, hopefully they lerned the lesson and will do better, once the paranoia has gone away.

Get the tanks in the streets and fire, these looters and violent "protesters" don't deserve anything else.
What would have happened if black cop would have done the same ?

Apart from working girls and some restaurant staff, I never was aware of that so many Thai nationals are living ( legally ) abroad.

There's just way too many to cater for the tourist demand even before this virus, well perhaps apart from very High season, public holidays and long weekends.
In and around Jomtien Bangsarey I seen many houses in residential villages (as with condos) - turned over to the AirBnB or similar for weekend pool villa let's.
Theres a massive over supply in all markets, so the 500-1,000Bht range will struggle to make money in an already very competitive sector, with not much room to cut prices.
Desperate in deed.
In the tourism business and in all his affiliated businesses, there's a massive oversupply. Except in quality and value for money. This is why it is so hard for everybody involved to make decent revenue.

Went to my local indoor talat yesterday, on entry points around the building... nothing.
Inside nothing, people/vendors not wearing masks, food vendors allowing people to sit at crowded tables, no gel or thermometers anywhere, no social distancing, no ThaiChana, no signing in or out....
absolutely nothing !
Same here, even with Chang bottles on the table, sitting outrside. Back to the old normal. Leo Leo !

I believe that is exactly what they report.
The filter that exists before one ends up on the reports is another matter though.
Not that it matters that much, it's just a number for the consumption of the hoi polloi. I'd like an update on the testing capacity, especially upcountry, the average time from sampling to result and the number of people doing manual contact tracing. Those do matter.
Solly, no haep !
