  1. Absolutely, plus the Thai tax office will no doubt use an "official" exchange rate that bears no relation to the actual exchange rate and maximises the tax take.
  2. The way that I would expect this to work is that you compute total Thai taxes due on your gross income, you are then allowed to deduct from that total any taxes already suffered, leaving a net amount payable in Thailand. Please note that if the taxes paid elsewhere exceed the Thai taxes then no refund is due!
  3. Coins have a longer lifespan than notes and so are cheaper. Coins tend to be used for smaller denominations because coins are less secure than notes.
  4. Agreed, but it is good to have this heads-up so that those ageing teenagers among us who don't need the extra hassle can avoid this airline until they fix the glitch.
  5. Which in the UK is likely to be "controlling behaviour", - a form of domestic abuse - another offence.
  6. If Thailand is unable to send aircraft to repatriate its citizens stranded in Israel then maybe it can send submarines instead?
  7. Sounds like that new tourist tax will need to be hiked to pay for that.
  8. It does not count as a PET if the person making it retains any interest. If she is still living in the house then she must pay a "commercial rent" in order for HMRC to accept that she does not retain an interest in the property.
  9. If your "family support" payments come from your income, not from capital, then these are normally exempt. Do you have a link for the exclusion of gifts made to a non-UK domiciled person from the 7 year exemption?
  10. Could it be that there is a camera in the cab which recorded the customer entering his PIN to unlock his phone? I always prefer to use fingerprint unlocking, but it always seems to me that whenever I am somewhere where I do not want to be watched whilst unlocking my phone is when Android annoyingly decides that the "PIN is required for additional security"!
  11. I expect that a solution will be found when the appropriate number of brown envelopes are delivered.
  12. October 13? Such a long time. That would mean over a month pretending to be in jail!
  13. Shrink? Maybe, but total evaporation is far more likely as I'm sure that Mr T will get what he has paid for.!
  14. Thaksin or Thaksout? My money is on Thaksout and sometime very soon - weeks, not months. A year in jail? ROFLMAO - absolutely no chance!
