  1. I am 70 and I got AIA last year. Health insurance together with life insurance with cash value. Cost according with the plan and age, starting 32000/year (2680/month) for my age.. No health exam and no problem with pre existing conditions. I used a few times without problems, but is good to have a good agent to help to deal with hospital quotes, coverage, etc, etc. It is good to get an extra accident coverage with it., for 2000/year.

    Policy is only in Thai.

  2. www.theskhouse.com without car parking but with nice pool for 600thb with AC, etc and free pick up from the train station. Many foreigners around.

www.miamihotelchiangmai.com with free parking and nice rooms for about 600thb with AC, etc By the Miguel's Mexican Cafe and the channel.

The Rotal Pannerai Hotel, with free parking for about 800 thb.

The wiangbua mansion, very new with free parking, pool, and breakfast for about 800thb. The best I found in that price range. Close to the Rajabath University and market, but not so close to the old city. Just 10 minutes by tuktuk.

All others between walking distance to the Old City, Tha Pae Gate and night Sunday market.

Outside parking for cars in Chiang Mai cost 200thb/day, and most guesthouses do not have it.

  3. In any way, this is a case for the Police to intervene. A good Samaritan sometimes is not welcome, and can get in big trouble in any country.

On a place like Pattaya tourist spots makes sense to have a lot of police officers around, and translators helpers to avoid these situation.

I hope Mr. Prayut do something about if he have concerns about Thai tourism and safety.

  4. Thai Friendly is full of very nice and hard working women. teachers, nurses, government officers, and business owners. And many, so many, very beautiful. If you cannot activate your account, open a new one, and for free. Another good site is Hi5.com that was TAGGED before, and belongs to Google now.

  5. Iv'e met many Israelis both here and in Japan, they tend to stick together and can come across as aggressive and rude, but if you get in their circle they are great companions and good friends, I never found them to be pish heeds like the Brits, more likely to be seen smoking a joint and chilling, it's just that most people won't give them a chance.

They thought I was Ish Tov, and I thought most of them were too.

I took the time to get to know them, nearly all are ex Army and won't take crap from people, Kudos to the Old Guy who shut up 4 young Israelis by grabbing one by the throat, ( A story I don't believe BTW, but it's the Internet, what do you expect ) I think that shows the Israeli calm side, if you had done that to a young Thai guy who was with 3 of his mates, you may have beaten senseless.

Next time you come across Israelis, try to get to know them instead of following the stereotype, you may be pleasantly surprised and meet some good friends.

    Shalom.

I am glad I saw your posting.

I forgot to explain that I am Jewish, from South America, and that I spend 2 years on the Israeli Army and a Kibbutz in the late 60s.

I told about my "past" to those young guys...at soon I noticed that they were from Israel....Later..I was not please to see them behaving like stupid drunk kids..and I advice them many times that I was losing my patience at that time of the night... and inside a bus. Was risky to face 4 young, and probably former soldiers...but...they were very drunk. Anyway....most Israeli young people are very argumentative and loud when are in a group having fun....and they got the reputation. But.. that's common in most youngsters from many countries and religions.

We...old guys.. sometimes do not remember our youth behavior.

    Shalom.

  6. No surprise at all.

By my own experience, in Israel, and with tourist here and abroad, YOUNG Israelis behave very bad. Last experience was in the tourist night bus BK-Chiang Mai with 4 guys drinking just behind my seat, yelling and messing with young girls inside the bus. I am an old guy, big, but I do not like trouble. That time my only choice, after complaining many times, was to get one of the guys by the throat. Risky move, what works....with the approval of everybody inside the bus.

    I have to recognize...Felt good!

  7. I think that bycicles are safer than motorbikes. Smaller and faster your wheels are, your risk of big injuries on an accident are bigger.

That's the main reason small cars and bikes are not so popular in the US considering its population, and more and more people are buying big SUVs. The bigger the better. I bought a small car here, and I am regreting.

Next time I will go for a truck, even if I do not like big cars. Bycicling.... just around home, and in country roads.

  8. I like Psychology very much, and was involved with it during all my life, but never studied Buddhism in that way...until moving to Thailand. I asked a Thai friends why the psychologist profession it is not very popular here. He responded telling me that most Thai people looking for counseling talks with monks. Some Thai monks becomes very well known because its counseling skills, and writings.

Months later I did a 10 days meditation retreat at the Doi Suthep Temple in Chiang Mai, specially dedicated to foreigners, and with an English speaker monk. Part of the routine was to meet him, in one on one meeting, every day, to share the experience, and a group meeting later.

Initially I was not reading well his comments, not finding relations with the group concerns, but after few meetings I understood that he was really doing a group "therapy", and that was very effective in my case. I can tell. He is a brilliant Psychologist.

I become a Buddhist later, and learned to meditate. Unfortunately, I do not speak Thai, and I can not take advantage of the many meetings and meditation retreats I had with monks, after reading its translated wonderful books.

  9. By the way.....people from Hill tribes in Thailand, not only live longer, they do not have any idea what it is prostate problems, breast cancer, or sexual organs problems, and after serious investigation about it in 1997, was found that they use to slice and eat roots of Kwao Krua, original from North Thailand. Now it is sold in capsules and creams. Unfortunately there are a lot of fakes products using the name. If you are interested in know more, let me know. I am kind of expert on that, and also had prostate problem before moving to Thailand, and rejecting laser surgery. Not anymore. It is natural and totally safe. Collateral effects? Yes..and may be a problem for some people...Kwao Kua is also an aphrodisiac for men and woman. I am 70..and married with a lot younger Thai. Just perfect!

  10. I can go long in this, but you can get info online.

The best solution for prostate and sexual organs problems is right here in Thailand and only from Thailand, and it is a herbal extract called Kwao Krua in Thai. It is know also by its botanical names, Butea Superba for men, and the best products here are from Asoke Community Pharmacy in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and from Nature Answer in the US. The type for women is called Pueraria Mirifica.

  11. Dog training only work is the trainer will work with the dog owner at its side....to learn how to keep the dog education. If not, it is a waste of time and money. Dogs are a lot smarter than people....They learn very fast who is "really" in control.

Dogs are very good "training" people.

  12. Even when an old farang is not looking in having children here with a Thai woman, will take the risk to do it. I was advised about.

Thai women of any age loves to be mother or a mix race child, for many reasons, and genetically Thai women fertility last longer than in western women. Any "distraction" is enough to get into trouble. I had a 40 years old Thai GF that was insisting for me not to use protection during sex...and in getting me "distracted". Anyway, a great companion, but it was not a serious relationship.

After 4 months, and when I decided to finish it, she told me that she was looking in getting pregnant again. She was a teacher, divorced, and with a teenager son.

Less than 1% chance of a woman becoming pregnant after age 43.

It doesn't matter what race she is.

Totally wrong, even if you are a doctor or an "expert". Surely farang. Thailand is very well known in that area because, not also Thai women maintain fertility longer, it is the country of local medications and treatment for that effect. It is a popular herbal product original from Thailand acting on the hormonal system, in men and woman. I known users personally. In women over 40 even may restores menstruation. Over 50 too. Some farangs call it the Thai Viagra, but do not works in the same way. Doubts...looks online.

There is a lot of info about this product. I know a lot about, but looks like you do need research it by your self....if interested.

    Thai name Kwao Krua.

  14. Not possible to count at 65 years old.

Just in Thailand, during my 2 years of single life, before getting married....25 of the 40 I met just on weekends, and choosing only the younger and beautiful ones. I am glad that I come here when I was "old"....If I was on my 30"s I will be very tired now.....

Never paid for sex, never frequented any bar or place looking for easy "hunting"... I am a Cheap Charlie...but still in good health and with good taste, and Thailand women are beautiful

And.... " I am not just perfect...I am Italian too "

Your last line, replying to a thread/poll about sex opened by an apparent Greek, reminds me so much of this joke:

A Greek and Italian were arguing over who had the superior culture.

The Greek says, "We have the Parthenon."

Arching his eyebrows, the Italian replies, "We have the Coliseum."

The Greek retorts, "We Greeks gave birth to advanced mathematics"

The Italian, nodding agreement, says, "But we built the Roman Empire."

And so on and so on until the Greek comes up with what he thinks will end the discussion. With a flourish of finality he says, "We invented sex!"

The Italian replies, "That is true, but it was the Italians who introduced it to women."

Good one! I love Italians....amazing sense of humor.

An Italian taxi driver took 3 tourists at the airport. They were bragging about its countries achievements

The American said...We build the Golden Gate Bridge in 3 months

The Briton said...We build the Big Ben Tower in 2 months

The French Said...We build the Eiffel Tower in 1 month

And keeping going...the Italian driver was getting piss of by the arguments...when just passing by the Coliseum..

The surprised tourist asked...Driver..what is that?

The driver responded...I do not know..It wasn't there this morning......

  15. Farangs here keep talking about bar girls, gold diggers, scams, online dating, very time argumenting about quality and beauty of Thai women. Also talking about the low level of intelligence of them. Well, probably in bars and in some online dating sites, not much chances to test intelligence. You only find and live with "bad" people if you were looking for it. Facebook and other sites like that, it is one of the places online when many sincere and honest people shows its interest and way of life. After getting into Facebook, I met online many, so many, beautiful and intelligent Thai women. I am happily married. I was looking for contacts, but amaze me that most of those Thai beautiful women on my Facebook, professionals, independent teachers or business owners, some even wealthy, and most single or divorced, are looking to married a farang. Sure, they are not "kids" under 25, I am talking about real women. For some reason, in most countries, "kids" under 25 are mostly beautiful and fit, specially if wearing sensual attires, high hills, etc, etc, but not so beautiful when its are over 40, very rarely. The most really beautiful Thai women I met here, are all over 40 years old.

One of my Facebook friends is not just a very beautiful and slender 40 years old woman, she is also very successful in business, and one time I asked why she still single, even looking for just farangs. Being busy and traveling so much, probably she meet a lot of farangs...

She responded with this banner..I agreed totally, valid to everybody.

  16. The greatest bunch of beggars are treated with immense respect and wear a sort of yellowish coat...you can see them every morning and they make a hell lot of money...and even get food for free...some even made enough to buy a plane....

Well...Directors of some philanthropic and non-profit organizations makes very good money, but at the same time makes very good work helping people in need. Looking in that way, if not most of the money goes for good causes, some do, and that it is better than nothing.

Monks and temples are in the same range.... and most of monks beggars are people choosing the temple's life and not the street's life. Temple's work is important in many ways, some more than others, but that's life...generalization is bad.

  17. After I got a small bite from a soi dog when traveling out my town, and I had to get all the rabies shot and pay 20000thb at a Government hospital, I found out that many foreign travel agencies advice its clients to get a 2 shots preventive rabies shots to people traveling in Asia.

Taking the risk of not getting the 8 shots after any soi dog bite, is a life or dead decision.

India is the #1 country in rabies infections, and Thailand is #2, but pet sterilization and rabies vaccination still not mandatory in Thailand.

  18. "I know every country in the world has such people but how are they treated like in Thailand? Do homeless people in western countries fare better?"

Western countries have social security. Were I come from every citizen is entitled to 1k a month, a room at the homeless shelter and 1 warm meal per day. As far as I know the Thai government does not provide social security. The mentioned food and shelter is mostly only accessible through Temples or other non-profit organizations.

Thai people ARE more compassionate towards these people but they simply don't have the logistics to help those in need.

I can tell that you are not from the US.........and you don't know about the "logistics" in Thailand.
