  1. Did the clerk offer any route forward to resolve this problem? I will be going to my Krungsri branch tomorrow to register.........
  2. I noticed the following in Science Daily today:- https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2025/06/250611083736.htm Source: Boston University Summary: California s solar energy boom is often hailed as a green success story but a new study reveals a murkier reality beneath the sunlit panels. Researchers uncover seven distinct forms of corruption threatening the integrity of the state s clean energy expansion, including favoritism, land grabs, and misleading environmental claims. Perhaps most eyebrow-raising are allegations of romantic entanglements between senior officials and solar lobbyists, blurring the lines between personal influence and public interest. The report paints a picture of a solar sector racing ahead while governance and ethical safeguards fall dangerously behind.
  3. Well spotted. The point is that Krungsri are offering you the opportunity to have their app in several devices. I would think the idea being that, depending on how one feels at the time, you can use either your phone or your tablet to carry out any transactions. I have a keyboard and mouse with my tablet so I like that idea. It would be more like using a proper computer but a bit small.
  4. Yes. I found this out by finally getting just a bit of positive progress. I got my 5G password sorted but still couldn't get recognised. However I was asked if I would like to have the app installed in my notepad. It was free so I thought great, I'll have some of that. It is now in both mobile 'phone and notepad both of which ask me for passport and account numbers and rejected me. I think I will need to go to the Krungsri branch in Buriram and check they have my current passport number in their system.
  5. I just found the answer to my own question from Google. "The Krungsri mobile app (Krungsri App) can use either Wi-Fi or 5G (or other mobile network connections) to connect to the internet for transactions and other features. It can function with or without an active internet connection in some cases, but the app's functionality may be limited without an active connection." What this tells me is that the Krungsri app is internet banking by another name but taylored for smartphone users.
  6. Question for all you highly knowledgeable banking guys. Does the Krungsri app only work on 5G or can it be via home Wi-Fi?
  7. Plastic gutters are commonly used also and I understand they have a goodly life expectancy. I wish I'd fitted them around my house instead of galv.
  8. It's a bit of gobbledygook isn't it but if one was to rearrange the randomly selected words it could come out as "a member with of the defence ministry personnel".
  9. I am sceptical too now, After I posted, I spoke to my wife who has an account there, her view was dubious to say the least.
  10. I have the Krungsri mobile app on my phone. Unused until now. I thought I would take a look at it following the discontinuation message on their website. Should be simple enough. So first I would need to register. Switch off wi-fi and use 5G Before I can use 5G I need to register as a 5G user with my password. Er. I don't have one of those. This is likely to take a little while. Maybe I should just go to my local BAAC bank which is just down the road as opposed to Krungsri which is 19km away, and open a new account there.
  11. Hope they are sent down for a very long time. From my musical perspective I do love the headline "Wagner (pronounced Vagner) accused of orchestrating".
  12. Agreed. Audimed also do Oticon which is, in my opinion, the rolls royce of hearing aids. I am intimately familiar with Adimed having been a customer for quite some years now. They also do AB cochlear implants but a better choice would be Med El which is also in Bangkok.
  13. If it's any help to anyone, I get all my water filter equipment from here:- https://www.duan-daw.com/ I have never had any problems with stuff bought from them.
  14. Many years ago I also got involved in clamping up electrical connectors. Admittedly we aren't talking of multicore copper cable, but the rules are probably the same. We were designing the copper busbars for an electroplating plant in South Korea. The copper busbars were somewhere in the order of 200mm x 15mm. These were the small ones inside the transformer cabinets. The busbars needed to be bolted together with six bolts at each joint. We were to ensure that the bolts were not done up too tight. Copper has a bit of elasticity which is lost if the pressure is too great. This elasticity is important when taking into account temperature changes. As copper cools, it gets smaller so an overtightened joint becomes looser. This looseness gets taken up by the natural elasticity if the joint is done to the right torque so the correct amount of tightness is important. It pays to check yer nuts periodically.
  15. Have you got your grandchildren staying too?
  16. No comprendo. On 30/05/2025 consumption was less than production yet you still took in quite a bit from PEA. ??
  17. Kitchen hygiene is sometimes a little lacking. Easy to get diyaria......
  18. Well done Cambodia. Keep up the good work.
  19. He is a malingerer. The picture was taken to deliberately make him look his age in order to garner sympathy and understanding for his fragile disposition.
  20. Just to be on the safe side I have sketched up a schematic of a combiner box.
  21. The world steps back away from the threat of WW III and leaves Putin free reign to wage war how he likes? Putin will carry on issuing his WW III threats safe in the knowledge that the worst case scenario is a few more sanctions which don't seem to be very effective.
  22. Thaksin wants to lecture the medical council on ethics? Mr. Thaksin. You have to be joking.
  23. It's worth remembering that the panels, by their very nature, are current and voltage limited. The fuses, surge absorbers and breakers normally fitted are more to protect against lightning EMP (electromagnetic pulse) events. The fuses fitted are normally "quick blow" which is considerably faster than a circuit breaker. The scenario in the event of a lightning surge is: The EMP will cause a high current flow in the solar panel wiring. The surge absorber conducts this high current to ground. This high current causes the fuse to blow very quickly. A second strike nearby will go nowhere because the fuse has already blown. House and inverter et al should never see any dangerous and damaging surges. Having said all that I've never heard of such a disastrous event happening but sods law being what it is .........
  24. I think everybody who heard Trump's 24hr fix for the war knew it was an utter rubbish thing to say. In my opinion Putin is hell bent on reassembling the USSR. He can only be stopped by being beaten on the battlefield, and that is something no one wants to get involved in.
