  1. An advertising agency surveyed 400 Thai women aged between 15 and 35 years in Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Ratchaburi, Ubon Ratchathani, Lop Buri and Hat Yai. Respondents were asked questions related to their values, dreams and the opposite sex.

When asked what they most wished for, 31% of the respondents said they wanted a car, 26% said money, 23% mentioned homes, 9% said mobile phones, 8% wanted stable jobs, 7% wanted higher education.

Only 3% said they wanted a male companion

Hope no one is silly enough to extrapolate that all Thai women are materialistic from a sample of 400. :o:D

Regardless of race, ethnicity or gender, usually socioeconomic status plays a part in ones values, dreams and the opposite sex. :D

Edited the post and changed the less polite word for prostitute to 'prostitute'. /Chanchao

Really don’t mean to be nasty, but any psych research (along with most other areas) requires ethics approval. I’m sorry but no legitimate research board of ethics would approve research conducted in this manner. Firstly there is no layman’s introduction statement containing an overview of the research and the reason(s) why it’s being conducted – but most of all (seeing that there is the potential that eliciting such information can tap emotional areas) there are no contact details for those supplying information to seek help. Laugh if you want at this statement, but no board of ethics (regarding psych research) will approve any proposal without this info – along with the guarantee that the participants and their info will remain anonymous. Sorry to Curious gal if this really is your thesis, but without implementing the correct scientific procedures of investigation then your research is futile.

  3. No wonder your single  :o

Trust me LC doesn't have to worry about sleeping alone :D

IamMaiC most of us here have had issues with other members and nasty comments made towards us, but don't let it get to you. This is a public forum therefore there are a variety of personalities and characters - we can't get along with all of them. If you you don't like a particular member or their comments just ignore them, it'll make you feel better. There's no need to get wound up and retaliate or behave in the way in which you personally dislike yourself (and the reason you started this thread).

  4. This is a serious poll and I an hoping to test a couple of hypotheses, so please try to take it seriously!

Please do not make a choice unless you have been tested within the last five years.

You can find IQ tests online at the following places, (and others, just do a google.)

IQ tests:  HERE,  HERE,  HERE, and  HERE.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but real IQ tests are kept under lock and key, and administered by psych professionals. These internet tests are steadily growing in popularity (for those doing their thesis in test construction) but are not taken very seriously in the professional domain of IQ testing - however they are still fun.

p1p – am curious about your hypotheses and upon which data (quantitative or qualitative :o) you’ll base your conclusions? :D
