  1. It’s actually a real pain to get. They don’t have any stores in oz (obviously not exclusive enough :o:D), so friends in the uk would post it to me. Here it can be found at Emporium and World Trade Centre.

  2. In oz I was raised on “slip, slop, slap” (slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen and slap on a hat) – still the best protection.

Cathy your skin must be very sensitive if you’re Type 1. I’m 2 and my sister is 3 (she’s got olive skin like my mother – I’m the milkman’s kid :o). Boo also recommended wearing foundation and totally believe her as she’s got great skin :D.

  3. Hi cathy

Go for it :D. Once you try it you're life will never be the same ( :D it's starting to sound like a cult).

You probably couldn't find the website cause the "II" is actually 2 using roman numerals.

Keep us posted on how it goes. I really should be their sales rep (or at least get some commission - got them enough business :o:D).

  4. What sunblock do you use?

(I’m hanging my head in shame as I write this :o) apart from my facial moisturiser (with spf) I rarely ever wear sunscreen. However, on the odd occasion I do worry about getting burnt to a crisp I wear Aveda’s sunscreen – not greasy and smells lovely.

  5. I’ve got my disaster stories – for some reason every hairdresser feels the need to make me look like Britney and flamboyantly shout “You beautiful! You sexy!.....You Britney!” :D. The last one gave me a hairstyle which has been described as “foxy” – I thought it resembled Morgan Fairchild’s do :D. The most decent place I’ve been to is Hair Decor in the Discovery Center, 1st floor near the toilets and lift. My stylist is a flamboyant gay guy, but aware that my hair is fine and makes sure not to damage it.

In regards to nails can't offer much, I’m all natural :o:D. I go to my local Central for a French manicure but actually enjoy doing my nails while sitting in front of the idiot box :D.

  6. why aren't you more "vocal"?

Thought that was the reason most guys left the west :D:D

I read the other stuff and quite a bit of it makes me laugh, but it doesn’t relate to me so don’t bother contributing. Now to be brutally honest :o, (apologises for the language) but couldn’t give a flying f about such things as which bars offer the best blow jobs (am confident about my skills in that department :D). Seriously though and not having a go at anyone but it is a bit of a boys club. Actually it reminds me of a group of guys at their local chatting over a few pints. Sure they don’t mind the occasional chit chat with a good looking chic (esp if she’s got a great set), but they wouldn’t really appreciate a bird plonking herself next to them and joining in like one of the “boys” – even if she could drink them under the table :D.

  7. nat, whats the hospitals/docs like on samet??

:o Hospital? Unless some more of the park is “accidentally” cleared, there’s no space. There is a medical centre and the doctor’s english is very good – handy for the occasional bout of cystitis :D:D or sore throat, but best to go to the main land for all else.

I've actually seen quite a few families on holiday on samet with young children - it's a very child friendly place. :D

  8. Nat, we share the same fear, that's why! :D  Except that you still have great skin while I am already drying and wrinkling and sagging and drying...  :o

According to Vogue it won't be so great if I continue drinking :D.

Actually it's the uv I'm worried about, have an aversion to putting on sunscreen - think it’s due to a childhood of my mum basting me in it and zinc before being allowed to go and have fun (I’m unconsciously rebelling :D).

  9. Hi meandlay :D

The pollution shouldn’t be a problem for the amount of time you’re spending, unless your daughter suffers from any respiratory problems, in which case best to see a doctor.

There’s plenty of fresh food around and like the girls mentioned heaps of western food to be found. A western friend of mine also has a 2 year old daughter here who loves the sausages from 7-11 :D – she can’t enough of them, esp while watching the Telletubies :D.

From what I’ve seen the thai people adore young children – I’m often surrounded by very young children both at work and around my condo and they are always treated affectionately (not only by me but also by the thais :D ).

Like sbk really don’t know if you’ll encounter ill will, but I do have an african american friend living here and she hasn’t encountered anything overtly negative. She has had thais comment on how dark her skin is, but nothing offensive.

Have to agree with Boo, bangkok’s not the best place for a holiday esp since thailand has so many beautiful beaches (am wishing I was on one right now :o). Anyway hope you and your daughter have a great holiday.

  10. Just avoid using the powder nearby the eye zone

Funny you should mention that due to my irrational fear of crows feet :D

Have to admit you're not the only convert :D - a good friend used to be a professional dancer so here skin is quite damaged from all the stage makeup and swears by the stuff (along with everyone else who tries it :D).

Bluecat - one can't get enough of a good thing :o as sbk has confirmed :D

  11. free alternative would be to urinate on your feet every day for 1 week - yes it works! :D

I remember Madonna mentioning this on Letterman. Wonder which medical school she went to???

:o Actually Madge isn't taking the urine :D - this particular excretion is antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral (and a heap of other antis that I can't remember :D). Our bodies contain some interesting defence mechanisms :D

  12. This has happened before but is very rare, about once a year, but when it happens it is a wonderful experience as I find myself in a world with no consequences to my actions and I can do anything I want or go anywhere I choose and do things i wouldn't dream of doing in the real world and have a great time.

My dream included making love in a crowded shopping mall with a supermodel I had just met on an escalator and being chased by police on a Harley Davidson and crashing it deliberatly into a glass fronted shopfront, knowing that I couldn't die because I was asleep in my bed in my room in my apartment.

We can thank Mother Nature for the muscle paralysis that occurs during REM :o:D

  13. :o Too much truth in that one :D

    Here's another honeymoon joke:

A young couple, just married, were in their honeymoon suite on their wedding night. As they undressed for bed, the husband, who was a big burly man, tossed his pants to his bride and said, "here put these on."

She put them on, and the waist was twice the size of her body. "I can't wear your pants," she said.

"That's right!!" , said the husband, "and don't you forget it. I'm the man who wears the pants in this family!"

With that she flipped him her panties and said, "try these on."

He tried them on and found he could only get them on as far as his kneecap. He said, "he11, I can't get into your panties!"

She said, "that's right, and that's the way it's going to be until your goddamn attitude changes!"

  14. Last nights results

    Round 13

    St Kilda 19 - 13 - 127

    Hawthorn 9 - 7 - 61

Saints come out of party mode and win a game

Hawks are really struggling.... shame they’re on the bottom of the ladder :o .

I thought it was iffy whether Fraser would play cause of his foot? Read he was quite grumpy on the field – must still be dealing with the loss of his mullet :D

  15. it has always been ok for a guy to be with a younger women but the other way around has always been slightly taboo. I think that perception is changing a bit though & maybe in another 100 years no one will care :D

Joan Collins was always famous for being with younger men, but her kind were rare - however the times are changing awfully fast. Demi Moore and Cameron Diaz have both made headlines over this issue, but the most controversial has been Germaine Greer esp with her recent book "The Beautiful Boy" :o:D Regardless of gender, there's nothing wrong in admiring something beautiful (just as long as it's legal) :D

  16. Be realistc when you visit a forum for "women"..this is far more tame than reading cosmo or marie claire to say the least.

:D Totally agree - but they are a great escape from reality :D. My mother has these mags regularly couriered and they really do lay into men. The title of an article in this month's Cleo is "Can you train a guy? Sit, stay, bad dog!" :o:D

  17. Hey Nat, you really got me wanting to try the SK II now! :D And how did you find Johnson's pure essentials shine-free face powder ?

I should be their sales rep :D

The face powder does the trick of eliminating the shine, however it dries up my skin and accentuates the fine lines :o (then again, I could just be paranoid :D). Don't use it often as my skin is looking great at the mo :D

  18. Hi Girty :D

Sorry I’m not anywhere near Phuket.

I spent a week on Patong a few years ago and to be honest didn’t like it much – the beach wasn’t great and an US naval boat had just arrived :o. My mate and I spent most of our time in the hotel being pampered and at a fun Irish pub (can’t remember the name).

Curious where you normally stay, as I think we chose the wrong place. I’ve heard there are some lovely quiet beaches – believe Kate Moss, Jude, Sadie and co stayed at one and loved it :D:D .

  19. The Geography of a Woman

Between 18 and 22 a woman is like Africa... half discovered, half wild, naturally beautiful with fertile deltas.

Between 23 and 30 a woman is like America... well developed and open to trade, especially for high financed investors. :o

Between 31 and 45 a woman is like India... very hot, relaxed and convinced of her own beauty.

Between 46 and 55 a woman is like France... gently aging but sensual, with an appreciation for the finer things.

Between 56 and 60 she is like Yugoslavia... lost the war, haunted by past mistakes and in need of massive reconstruction.

Between 61 and 70 she is like Russia... wide and unpatrolld borders, with a frigid climate that keeps people away.

Between 70 and 80 a woman is like Mongolia... a long, glorious and all-conquering past, but not much of a future.

From 80 on, a woman is like Afghanistan... everyone knows where it is, but no one wants to go there.

    The Geography of a Man

Between 15 and 80 a man is like Iraq... ruled by a dick (tator) :D

  20. Don’t often participate in these threads as am a western woman :o but mainly due to them becoming quite insulting and irrational. However (sifting through the thread :D) there have been some valid and justified comments made by posters about their views on farang women. I can see many of the points and empathise with those who have been treated badly. However we are not all bad and don’t think it’s fair to condemn all western women due to a few bad apples. I’m relatively young compared to most here, but have been engaged twice to western men, both who did very mean things (in every possible way) :D . Sure in some respects this has tainted me (find it hard to trust - which I wish wasn’t the case), but I don’t resent western men. I know there are good men out there, I just happened to have picked the wrong ones (that’s the way I like to look at it) :D.

We’re all entitled to associate with whomever we please and it’s perfectly fine if one’s circle does not consist of any western women – but please do not look at us in a negative light, as I’m sure we all know at least one exceptionally special western woman eg mother, grandmother, etc. :D

  21. Latest news 18 players and 25 charges, it's on tonite, should be quite a session.

Din't watch the game Nat but you can't avoid seeing the incedent, just turn on TV. :D

    What happened at the tribunal?

Only had a glimpse at The Age, but apparently the AFL chief executive is defending Dermie – (going off track) but in the picture supplied Dermie was sporting a Johnny Farnham hairdo :o:D
