The reason it's made in a way so that you are forced to turn it off when you go out is because apartment and hotel owners are aware of people's ignorance. Almost any gym will do in Bkk. They are usually good. Just stay away from fitness first(fitness last would be a more appropriate name). It's a typical commercial gym with nothing useful in it.
