  1. "Yesterday, the protesters separately surrounded two TV reporters working from their mobile trucks and criticised them of reporting the wrong number of the protesters. The two denied that they had given any number."

Great. Noting mention about beating the women up.

Go google about the 2 women reporters yesterday "Penphan Leamluang" and "Varunee Suesatsakulchai"

A historic occasion for Thailand, the largest mass demonstration ever conducted in Thai history and virtually devoid of violence and damage to property and all you can focus on is a minor disturbance between some hotheads and a couple of journalists. An occurrence that was quickly resolved by organisers and strategies put in place so it wouldn't be repeated.

Compare this to the redshirt riots, where the reds were encouraged by their leaders to commit mass violence that resulted in the deaths of 90 people, injuries to thousands, biblical scale destruction of public and private property and disagreements with journalist that resulted in building being set alight and exits blocked by reds with journalists trapped inside.

This is so wrong it's laughable. Waza, you have set yourself a new low. You and cartalucci ought to get together, you're made for each other.

Well Fabby, glad you get a good laugh out of others misery. Perhap if you read more than red history you would be better informed and more credible. Till then keep up with the red spin and the ambiguous comments, baiting and the personal flames.

After you have read the history of the red, I hope you would NOT say they deserves the 90 deaths. That will be too inhuman.

  2. Sadly enough after listening to the neo-facist Sutheps rants over the last couple of weeks, PTP seems like a not so bad alternative anymore!!w00t.gif

I know, they are rotten to the core and corrupt beyond believe, but the lesser of the two evils!

doesn't it get boring to write "fascist" in every posting, without ever give a reason?

Just repeat it often enough in the hope something will keep sticking....

No it does no get boring stating the truth. It reminds me of a some lines from a post WW2 lecture deliverd long ago about facism by Pastor Matin Niemöller:

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Be very careful what you wish for. You just migh get it and who will left be to speak for you?"

You speak about the PTP, right?

    No, Suthep.

  3. When will this country cease releasing these ludicrous, self-incriminating posed photos of criminal suspects ? The Khaosod publication has done it again. In spades. They take a serious story and give the moral last word to Jatuporn. " ... those who whipped up the hatred must be responsible. " Jatuporn - talking about responsibility ! " Brothers and sisters, burn them ! I will take responsibility ! " Of course, that wasn't Jatuporn, as we all know and remember, and as every publication in the world remembered at the time. No, it was someone else. But the responsibility that particular man assumed was to be appointed a cabinet minister. Of agriculture ! Perhaps if Khaosod publish that, they would gain more credibility before they conduct an on the spot interview with Jatuporn again.

So you want Khao Sod to publish the speech Nattawud gave in 2010 in response to an article about police finding the alleged killers of a red shirt? Why shouldn't one of the red shirt leaders be allowed to comment on the killing of one of their supporters anyway? Jatuporn may be a hypocrite but at least he acknowledged that a student died, unlike the supporters of the PDRC, many of whom still believe that the students were completely peaceful and that 5 of them died.

As I say, I'd really like to hear Suthep and the RU Rectors comments on this. Hopefully they'd congratulate the police on their work so far, but insist that justice should be impartial and that police should also investigate who from the red shirt side is responsible for the death of a student.

Oh dear. I was always led to believe that 5 students died.

If not 5 students, then what?

  4. Can we anticipate a statement from the rector any time soon ? That is, the Prof who was so outraged that his poor students ( probably this pair as well as the wolf-like ones attacking the bus) were victims. No, a stunning silence.

    So what!

Your logic is very often very skewed or simply not logical at all.

Instead of calling for calm, the Rector called for students to come out and "protect the university". Why he isn't seen as equally or more culpable than Jatuporn for inflaming tensions I'm not sure. After all, Jatuporn told the students not to block the stadium because it would lead to violence, but of course, that's exactly what they went ahead and did. Why didn't the Rector tell students to allow red shirts to peacefully assemble? Why did he claim the day after that three students had died without mentioning any red shirt deaths?

And why would anybody believe anything that jatuporn said?

He's on record numerous times for telling porkies, including in parliament.

To be fair, same same from the Rector.

  5. "These two suspects might end up losing their bright future as criminals in murder cases," Mr. Jatupon said, "Therefore, those who urged the Ramkhamhaeng students to fight with Redshirts and those who whipped up the hatred must be responsible".

Looks like their bright future as criminals in murder cases is still ahead of them and won't be lost.

Not diminishing their culpability, if they are indeed guilty, but what about the responsibility of those who bussed the red shirts down to Bangkok to cause chaos, i.e. Mr Jatuporn et al. Would any have come without the transport, cash and food provided? Not to the mention the police who failed to intervene after the situation got out of hand.

What about an arrest in the case of the murder of the Ramkhamhaeng student?

Same same, what about the responsibility of those who bussed the anti govt protesters (aka yellow) red shirts up down to Bangkok to cause chaos...

  6. This BBC report shows some of the others the police will be seeking. I've not seen this pic on any other site. Shows one trying to smash open the door of a public bus with a crowbar while another fires a slingshot at passengers inside, from close range. Real charmers, probably public admin majors

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-25483401

Unfortunately the bus was paint with the wrong colour. RED.

I hope Santa Clause is not accused to be a Red shirt under Thaksin payroll.

  7. The shooter has been arrested, and the gun found.

Sorry in Thai, but Google translate should help.

It turns out the the alleged killer is a Ram Uni student.

Must be a PR nightmare for Suthep, and the Rector of Ram Uni, who claims that their Student are Peaceful and without guns.

    http://www.khaosod.co.th/view_newsonline.php?newsid=TVRNNE56YzJPVEl4TlE9PQ

Or a person was arrested and a possible shooter accused.

OK alleged shooter, and guns as evident.

Applying the same principle, Thaksin alleged buying votes.

  8. If any reporters local for farang dares to report any less, they may be subjected to the same treatment (beaten up) as "Penphan Leamluang" and "Varunee Suesatsakulchai" yesterday.

And the sad part is: These 2 are women, and going back through the tapes, Suthep found no evident of them reporting any numbers (which they were accused of).

Satit (the shorties) should learn to grow up (yes literary).

  9. I wonder if the police will take a look at the hotel ctv camera's that overlook the car park----to prove their statement was correct---SO -bib prove it.

This is from CCTV, two men reported to have thrown small ping pong bomb at police station earlier:

    BcJmpiXCIAEQXLd.jpg

So if it's the same car park, then yes, they have CCTV.

    Richard Barrow ‏@RichardBarrow 3h

11:40am Protesters saying 3 shots fired from inside flats where police live

    Richard Barrow ‏@RichardBarrow 3h

11:40am Four bullet holes found in window of 4th floor but not known yet if fired into or out of room

If fired INTO the building, then glass will be on inside. Reverse if fired OUT OF building. Correct?

    You watch too much CSI.

  10. You gotta love Jonathan Head's piece this morning. From protestors in Bangkok defiantly shaking their fists in the air and shouting "Chaiyo" the scene segues to one of bucolic serenity with ploughed rice fields, banana trees and grazing buffaloes. Suddenly amongst the furrows an attractive, well groomed middle aged woman appears, apparently a farmer. Fortunately for Jonathan she turns out to speak fluent English of the sort that cannot be learned in Thailand's rural state schools. She articlulates to camera the pain of the downtrodden rural poor whose informed views on who should govern the country and how are yet again being cruelly ignored by the elitist anti-democratic protestors of Bangkok. The report closes with a brief lecture from Jonathan on the legality of the caretaker Shinawatra government and the impracticality of reforming the constitution. Off camera we can imagine Jonathan and the part time farm hand repairing to Bangkok in the farm vehicle, a chauffeur driven S-class, and relaxing with a bottle of champagne at the FCCT, while reading Robert Amsterdam's congratulatory text.

Are you implying that Mr. Head is on Thaksin's payroll?

  11. My missus is red to the core as are most Issan folk. Not because they are stupid, ill educated and unthinking morons ...no...because they despise everything that the Bangkok wealthy and Amart stand for. I think it was in the late 50's that the Issan dialect was banned from schools... so English is actually their 3rd language. The wealthy in Bangkok send their children to international schools whilst ALL previous governments have purposely put in place practices which disenfranchise the rural poor from a good education. Keep them in their place where they belong ! ... a case in point is the convoluted written languge..poor old Somchai working in the paddy from dawn to dusk has little time left after mastering Thai to explore any other educational routes. The Thai culture of patronage, feudalism, face and respecting a Poo Yai (irrespective of how they got their wealth... I'm thinking Suthep here)... all comes together to explain why the rural poor will take a chance on the Thaksin regime.... He can walk with the people... Abhisit? I think not. So to all you posters who say that Thaksin just 'bought' the votes .. you are being stupid beyond belief. If someone is going to give them 200 B ... they will take it...even from the Democrats...THEN .. go and vote for who they want anyway. The real problem is that the Democrats have consistently shown to be incapable as a strong opposition, as a consequence we have the so called 'democratic dictatorship', this, together with a piss weak judicial system with no real checks and balances and we have what is modern Thailand.

Making the assumption that everyone in Bangkok and everyone protesting are wealthy and amart is just as bad as assuming that everyone north of Bangkok is stupid, ill educated and unthinking morons.

Not everyone. But if you are making a general assumption, it is quite accurate.

    For example:

All Icelandic are white is not correct. A general assumption that most Icelandic is white is quite accurate.

  12. You might also have to avoid the airport too!

Hello, I will be travelling to Bangkok just after Christmas. Can I check with you guys who are locals, is it safe to travel say during weekdays or will the level escalate? Thank you for your replies. Traveller from Singapore.

If you avoid the roads and the railways you'll be fine. thumbsup.gif

i have to fly there my friend. I will be landing on DMK airport around 29th noon. sad.png

That should be OK, unless the EC decide to use DMK as a place to register candidate.
