  1. EUROOE, full embargo on all impirts/ expirts to Russia.

Eurooe, restrict/ freeze all financial transactions to Russia.

Opec, drop prices on oil to europe.

Russia becomes a 3rd world nation overnight.

Russia is relegated to the dark ages.. no cash...no power!!

    Putin is lying

He could take Kiev in 2 days

    A very simplistic model.

First. He was not talking to NATO.

Second. He most likely said or meant: " He could have taken Kiev if need be". This version is opposite to interpretations by hot heads here.

Third. Neither EU nor Russia want a 45 M broke nation for dependants. This unfortunately is all Ukraine is today.

Fourth. As it is today Ukraine is not defendable by NATO would Russia have taken it, unless some dreamers think Moscow will allow NATO to organise the substantial defences in Ukraine.

Fifth. Freezing Russia's assets will clear them of all and any obligations re Western investments. Which side would be laughing all the way to the Bank I'm not sure.

Sixth. Russia does not need cash to survive. Russians can survive on bread and potatoes and will still fight. Not sure about the West.

Seventh. Putin may be a bully, a thief and a KGB creature but he has real power in his country and he is no fool by any means.. This is how it is. Cannot say the same about Western Leaders.

Eighth. Putin has the option of getting out of $$$ and embrace China. Western alternative is to put themselves in hands of oil rich Muslims. It will definitely backfire.

I hope nobody will see by now that I am a Putin supporter. Just being cautious.

Oh, and please don't bring in Crimea question. Easy come - easy gone. If Kiev had a grain of brain they would still keep it.

#9. Keep telling the people how bad the west is. Reminds me of the time the Sovjet Union.

#10. I hope you like potatoes and cabbage.

And no, your are not a Putin supporter, you are just caustious, I wonder why? Afraid of returning to Russia?

And the Crimea, as you say, easy come, easy go. I realy hope you like your potatoes, because that's all you will end up with.

    1. w00t.gif Where in my post did you see a bad word about the West?

    2. giggle.gif You hope I like potatoes and cabbage? Why? Just because you are Dutch?

    3. facepalm.gif Why did you decide I should be "afraid of returning to Russia"?

    4. Actually I was cautious for the West having to fly to Russia (including Dutch). tongue.png

    5. cheesy.gif Why a personal attack? ... But I forgive you... being a Dutch in Isaan can be stressing nowadays. Cheers! coffee1.gif

This was a very strange post indeed! In no way is it related to taking Kiev...

I should apologize for dutchisaan. Not all the dutch that live in thailand are the same. But the fact that he is in the jungle can explain his mis informed opinion. And if he is not misinformed he should ask himself what's the matter with my brain, is it too old already, where can I get a new one.

Who are you to apologize for me?

Go get a real life and leave the vodka alone when you are posting.

  2. I'm in almost the exact same situation as you. I'm 28, I earn my living outside the country and send the money here, and have been with my girlfriend for about 4 years. We hadn't planned on getting married before the whole immigration crackdown, but seeing as we already have a young son together, we decided to a few weeks back.

To get married you'll need a signed bit of paper from your embassy or consulate. It cost me just over 3000 baht to get mine from the British consulate in Chiang Mai. You'll then need to get this translated (there are shops that do this near most consulates I think) and then stamped at the Ministry of Foreign affairs. I ended up just paying my translator an extra few hundred baht to do the second step for me.

Then take this stamped translation to any Amphur and they'll marry you. It takes around an hour I guess, and it was just filling out some paperwork. At the end you and your wife will each get a marriage certificate. Not very romantic at all, but very painless.

After that, just take your marriage certificate, a copy of your wife's housebook (Tabien Baan) and her ID card to any consulate to get your marriage visa. Savannakhet in Laos is a popular place to do this, because you can get a multiple entry 12 month visa there without providing any financial proof. In fact, I'm making the trip there myself next week to get mine.

    Good luck!

First off all, there is no marriage visa. You can get a non-o based on being married. After that you can go the your immigration office and ask for a extention based on being married.

But here you have to show proof of income.

So please don't tell the op to go just across the border and everything will be fine. BTW, good luck on your own trip!

  3. The tanks in the latest battle that the Ukrainians have been beaten in are the latest Russian T-90's. The Ukranians do not have them. Yet there they are in Ukraine either supplied by the Russians to the separatists or operated by the Russians. Anyone including Ray McGovern and his band who thinks Russia is not involved in Ukraine either directly with their Army or by supply by latest Russian technology is in cuckoo land.

Prove it with images instread of spreading ukrain propoganda.
Just look at the INTERNATIOL news, instead of your Russian, so called free press!

  6. Seriously, for what possible reason could Russia desire to sneak a few troops over the border? To me, it makes no sense what-so-ever. I am as certain as I can be that Russia is preoccupied with other matters. Hungary sold Kiev some 80 T-72 tanks last week for their scrap metal price. Only Russia still uses the out dated T-72. Kiev uses only the T-80 and the T84.

I am seriously not trying to defend Russia. I fought the Cold War against them my entire professional career. That experience i hope does not make me stupid. Things still have to make sense.

Plenty of reasons. Feeling intimated by NATO, securing military bases (like the Crimea invasion), securing energy resources (quite a few in Ukraine), securing transport corridors for their energy deliveries to Europe. Lots of reasons.

Unfortunately, only a few don't accept Russia's involvement. The majority do. We're on the verge of a full scale war and Russia's right in the heart of it. Stirring things up.

Did you read about their trucks crossing into Ukraine without authorization? Under the guise of "humanitarian" supplies? If that was the case, why not let the red cross, who were right there, check each truck? They opted not to do that and cross with their personnel and supplies illegally. Perhaps they were hiding something????

You keep referring to Ukraine's energy resources. Please name it?

Russia is the largest producer of oil and gas, so what does Ukraine has to offer that Russia so badly needs?

    Answer is NOTHING.

Ukraine heavily relies on Russian gas

If Russia was interested in Ukraine, they would have already occupied and nothing US or EU could do.

It is Ukrainian aim and determination to get Russia into war with the West.

Ukraine is the one making wild accusations and claims and then US all over sudden produces " unrecognizable" evidence.

Were you aware, the night before idiot Poroshenko made the claim Russian troops are in Ukraine, he had 4 hour meeting with Putin, which finished at 2am?

Name dates Poroshenko or his pro Nazi party members, had a meeting or negotiations with the so called rebels? NEVER!!!

Here is the reality, US sponsored and supported an illegal overthrow of democratically elected government.

US then installed its chosen people.

All this, just to piss off Russia.

If anything, Putin has been outsmarting US every step of the way, he is an excellent tactician.

Russia has been playing very cool, and level headed, but i am not sure if Putin will continue to do so for much longer.

Putin does hold the power to make US and EU lives hell.

Also, can you think of any legitimate reason why every single proposal for peace in Ukraine put forward by Russia at UN gets blocked by US?

Well it is clear that you spend your time on Russian media only. Fine with me, but please spare the other members of this form the propaganda that your here Putin spreads around.

I don't even want to respond on all your BS in your post, but let me be honest and ask you just one responce, sorry make that two.

Please give me a link that proofs that the US blocked any peace deal by Russia. And please be correct in your answer, was it only the US, or also other countries. Don't forget, EVERY proposel.

And please show some proof that the US has installed it's puppet regime in the Ukraine.

Buy the way, installing a puppet regime is a Russian invention.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

    Its hilarious reading your post

It is so un informed that i do not even know where to start.

You want evidence US installed its puppets, you seriously that out of touch?blink.png

But since we are now demanding evidence, please post for me clear evidence of Russian army being in Ukraine. and i do not mean a blur with caption, but clear readable evidence?

Now i am waiting for your replywhistling.gif

Man, I realy had this dream to get a normal answer!

Just answer the questions asked, and please, do it honest. Everybody can see the Russian propaganda.

  8. "Yupin Apartment owner Nirut Tipmanee called the police..."

In this culture, K. Nirit is a hero. Surely this was not an easy decision. Getting involved in others affairs is not something Thai's do easily, even as horrific as this is to us. Domestic violence is still very much considered a family problem in this culture, and corporal punishment perceived as a personal decision, and threats and retribution for the perceived meddling in others affairs is common. "You make problem for me, I make problem for you." I broke up with a long time Thai GF due to this deeply ingrained trait when I kept getting involved with Thai on Thai violence against women I witnessed. Kudos to K. Nirut and good luck to her/him. Lets hope the child stays out of the abusers hands.

I know this is a Thai forum but I used to be a helicopter EMS pilot in the US and this is not a Thai only problem. It is a world wide issue. I worked for three years for two different companies before I had to quit and go back to general flying. The emotional toll was just too great for me when it came to the children who I had to pick up and transfer to a hospital because of abuse. When you look in the eyes of toddlers as you are loading then in the bird and all you see is incomprehension and shock as to why did this happen to me, I just couldn't take it any longer. One little blonde, cute as a button 3 year old female who had been beaten and then scalded by her father in a hot bath still haunts me to this day. The kicker to this story is that I was also on duty the day the police cornered the father and had to shoot him to take him into custody. He was only slightly injured. I did not know he was the father until we arrived at the scene of the shooting. We were dispatched to pick him up and transfer him to the ER. The location was from a large island that was across the sound from the hospital. I knew that it was getting to much for me when I suggested to the flight nurses on the way back over the water that they accidentally open the door and let the gurney slip out into the water. They were shocked at my suggestion but I was coldly rational about the idea.

This event and others like it always come back to me when I hear or read stories about how the religious nutters are always screaming about federal intervention into their states rights to live their life as they see it and keep the government out of their business. This usually comes about because of the way they treat their wife/wife's and children and the conditions they make them live in. Some event happens and they get caught out and it makes the news. We all know that most events never come to light. I am all for small government myself but someone needs to protect the innocent from the wacky and or just plain cruel people.

Sorry for the rant but this issue just hits to close to the bone for me. I vote to burn the f####r at the stake. Rehabilitate, my a##.

    Your rant is ok mate!

  10. How about extended visas for those that have helped Thais in need? So far, I've paid for a 2m baht home for my wife's family and paid for schooling for children that aren't mine or my wife's (nephew/niece). I also paid for medical care for my wife's sister after a very serious illness (she had a paid nurse 24/7 at home and a hospital bed I paid for...sadly she passed away). I give a monthly allowance to my elderly Thai Father and Mother in law. Many others do this too. Wouldn't it be fair to make life easier for those that do such things?

So, because your are a walking atm the immigrition has to give you a extended visa? If you are married just do the paperwork and get a 1 year extention on your non o. Simple, live is easy if you know what you are doing.

  11. "The thing is that MacWalen has never posted any factual information on pretty much anything "

Paz is that really so? Before MacWalen started promoting learning Thai nobody has ever heard about ED visas for students of language schools. A fact very well known, you could even say that Walen School is the mother of all schools offering ED visa assistance in Thailand as we were the very first ones to do that. All other schools copy Walen School or copy schools that copied Walen School. All you know today about ED visas you know directly of indirectly from Walen School.

    Are you that bitter mate?

I don't think people are that bitter. The remark was that you don't bring in anything in this discussion, exept for promoting your school.
Please don't be offended, just write something on this thread that people can use.

  12.

The Dutch are lovely people and have a great country, but military matters aren't their strong suit.   I believe one of their last assignments was the protection of Srebrenica in Bosnia.   That didn't turn out too well.

I think the Australians are probably better suited for the task and have a little bit more experience in these matters.   The Australians are also not a part of the EU so some of the baggage that the EU is carrying in this matter won't come into play with Australia.

It looks like that you do not know a lot about the Dutch army.

Actually, you are correct, I don't know a lot about the Dutch army.

I am wondering why the politicians seem to be reluctant to be involved.

There are probably a lot of things still at the site, including personal effects.   Possessions of value may have been stolen, but there are lots of things of importance to the families.   These personal items should not be left there.

Thank you for your honest reply.
The dutch government is trying it's best to come with a solution that will work for everybody. But there main priority is to get the victims home.  They where ready to sent in Dutch special forces, all leaves where cancelled for this unit and soldiers on vacation where called back to there base.

I'm not a politician, I'm just somebody that lost a good friend on this flight and in my opinion they can sent the whole army to this crashsite.  But that is my feeling saying, not my brain.

  14. Here is another latest update.

The recording posted by Ukraine allegedly rebels discussing it is a fake .

On the day of the tragedy Ukraine was moving its BUK systems.

Russia and Holland agreed to work together , while Ukraine does not want to provide answers to movement of BUK on the day.

Make of it what you will

Russia only agreed to start using its influence on the seperists after many calls from other worldleaders.

Prime minister Rutte, from The Netherlands called Putin 3 times in 24 hours and demanded! that he have to do something.

I think you have to start to watch a little more than only Russian broadcast.

They showed on Russian television pictures of OSBE members, looking at the crash site. There commentarry, voiceover, was that they could look at everything.

If you look at the samevideo footage, a little bit longer, on other media outlets you see that they didn't get the room to work and where even told to get lost.

So keep believing what ever you read in the Russian press, you only fool yourself.

And please explain why the self proclaimed republic of donetz is led by 2 Russians? Or is this a lie to?
