Being blacklisted isn't any big deal.
When you get home, simply legally change your name, then get a new passport and plastic surgery before returning on a Visa Exemption.
Easier than STV then ! ????

I was told an anecdotal reports that ppl are forced to pay 20'000 thb plus 50 extra baht for every overstayed day, e.g. one my friend paid 27500 when departed from Samui several years ago. Could be a local "fine" though with only 20k being official.
Had a few months overstay in samui and went to Singapore to get a new visa . Guy at airport looked at passport and said you stay long time , I said yes I stay with my wife and own property here . He done some paperwork and asked me to sign a receipt for the 20,000bht and gave me back the passport . Asked when I return and I said about three days , he didn’t bat an eyelid and said thank you .

End of November first fortnight in December I think they will change the entry requirements to minimum fuss and less requirements for certain groups like people with retirement visas , family etc . But for the average tourist it will still require some hoop jumping , tests ,reduced quarantine and insurance.
If they don’t start doing something about it by end of December they can forget tourism until May / June at least and that won’t amount to much if the exchange rate stays the same !- 1

So what about this ?
"about 1,600 people worldwide have applied to the Special Tourist Visa"
1'600 is not huge, but is still a fair number of 'tourists', far from zero.
Then spread that into say 16 places over the whole country ! ????

I hear the travel agencies in Vanuatu can’t cope with the demand for trips to Thailand since this was announced ! ????

They fear more Covid ?? Seems the government fear plan is working !
How can that many fear something they have no knowledge off ? If they asked the whole of thailand I bet they would be lucky to find 1% that know someone who has had it or symptoms !!
God help them if something serious and deadly happened !!

As I said before I’m sure the 150 arriving was just a story to try get other applicants or people interested to panic thinking the Chinese would be getting all the quarantine hotel spaces etc and suddenly rush to apply from Europe etc . When in fact no 150 are arriving and the Thai government have now seen this ploy didn’t work and there was no rush by European tourists etc to come or apply to come . So now they are thinking what mental story to think up now to try get people to come , but if you ask me their plans will be dead in the water like tourism until they get rid of the 14 day quarantine and the insurance !

LOL. Of course they do. I was driven off Thong Nai Pan Yai by a beach bar that played very loud music long after midnight every night. On investigation, the only audience for the sole bartender/ DJ was a dog.
Was the dog barking orders at him ? ????

And if you look at ark bars own page of their last event it’s a very different story . In the daytime it’s dead , I have friends who were just there a few days ago and said the only place busy in chaweng was the black .

So you haven't been here for a while then. Another exaggeration.
As I write this, I can here music from a beach club in Bangrak. Every bloody single night since the lockdown ended in April. Luckily for me, they turn the volume down at 24.00 hours. Peaceful bliss.
Would they stay open for that long, evry night, if they were empty? I think not.
Another beach club in Fisherman's village has a queue ouside most nights (unless it is raining).
I cannot comment on other beach clubs as I do not traval far from my base. Too many good restaurants and places to go to. (Choengmon, Bangrak, Bophut and Maenam.)
Have you been to any of these places?
I haven’t been since I left in June and refuse to get ripped off in quarantine when I have a perfectly good house I own there !
If you are talking about chi in banrak being the beach club it’s mostly empty unless special party is on and beach clubs will play music even if empty as it won’t attract anyone in silence.
Beach club in fishermans village ? If you mean coco tams it’s not a beach club and it’s that quiet they let their farang manager go last month as no need for one they said .
As for restaurants I have been to quite a few very cheap and very expensive all around the island as I owned property in banrak, bophut and taling ngam . The only place I don’t know is lamai as it never appealed to me for some reason .

Am i stating the obvious that I think this plane load of Chinese never existed? Not sure why they made this story up.
Made it up to gauge how many people apart from Chinese want to come and are willing to put up with the expensive quarantine nonsense .
Like all the articles in the press about people panic buying toilet tissues and masks . It made more panic and rush out and buy them . Same spin for all the Chinese coming to Thailand, making others clamour for visas that were in abundance incase the Chinese took them all . Which is never really going to happen !

I thought she got money from the lottery also as a seller as the tickets are registered to her or have her seller code on them and when there is a winner the lottery pays the seller a bonus amount .
-
It’s a mass building site , not great value as it’s one of the most expensive places in Thailand and you will get the beach clubs that are actually open all to yourself they are that quiet as nobody is there . Oh and let’s not forget the garbage dump problems !

Unfortunately, that's not unusual in the rural hospitals. I've seen it before.
Was the same in khon kaen also . Looks like a war zone !

For those saying hospitals are empty , this was yesterday up north . Is this normal ?

More than likely they never existed like I said before . Was a nonsense story made up to make everyone think the Chinese were going to snap up all the visas available and make others rush to apply hoping to get the last few remaining , when in fact there were loads available as only those desperate to return or money to burn were interested !
Now they have realised maybe they got 1-200 applicants so they have cancelled the plan to save face and now thinking up some new insane idea .

Wife was in in hospital visiting her father the other day in khon kaen and her father was in a general ward after spending two days in a corridor. She said the ward was full of mosquitoes as the windows were all open because of the heat at night . I said that’s crazy that people are sick in hospital and then being left to lay there with the possibility of catching dengue. Luckily for the father in law though his grandson is in the army so next day he got moved to a private room when one became available.
She also said not one person she seen there or coming in to the ward had been tested for COVID ! ????
