Any idea on the the Mail is reporting a ban on international travel from the UK like that in Malaysia? Sounds like <deleted> https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8902029/Holidays-abroad-outlawed-strict-new-winter-lockdown-rules.html
Unless for work as far as I’m aware . But the flights to Thailand are repatriation flights and not commercial so you can’t just book a seat and go , hence hoop jumping competition the Thai gov are running and you have to meet their criteria to get the COE . I’m assuming if you meet all requirements you can leave but not return for a while possibly, hence I’m not planning on returning for at least a year .

As someone who has been stuck in uk since June due to not wishing to pay the cost to return to Thailand via ASQ etc I am now deciding it isn’t going to change really in the next 3-6 months no matter how many statements the TAT or government release daily and I am probably going to have to cough up to return home .
Can anyone who is doing it or has went through it tell me the quickest time from first applying to having everything done and waiting on the flight date , the cheapest total cost for everything they have paid and lastly if anyone has a full price list for the government listed ASQ hotels for the 14 day stay . Most details will be the same roughly apart from the hotel costs I’m sure , but it saves me the hassle of contacting them all individually if others already know , so thanks in advance.
Due to the way things are here and going and the winter weather arriving I have decided I would rather pay to be locked in a hotel for two weeks than wait things out in uk for months for things to maybe change to enter Thailand but probably not .

Well then they should Start with TAT, MOPH, and then any Government associated stories as they are all fake....Unfortunately it is not April Fools day yet, or is it.

Optimism vs insanity ! I’m going to go with the latter ! ????

If you fly Bkk to samui at least twice a month return then it’s pretty good deal . Quite a few fly to Bkk on Monday for work in Bkk and return on Friday from samui so it’s a winner for them .

Wouldn’t have happened if they had been better educated instead of hanging out on the beach thinking they were Leo dicaprio while living off mummy and daddy or on their gap years ! ????

Is thailand the only place that is asking for several tests before arrival , Covid insurance and the person to pay their quarantine ? Or are there other countries doing the same ?

Get him a Lenovo pad . Was only a few thousand as far as I remember on lazada and pretty decent . Or you will get cheap phone on lazada but be careful as some of the better names are sim locked to ais etc and you can’t unlock them . I got a cheap Motorola and didn’t notice was locked to true sim. Tried to get it locked in several of usual places and not one could do it , said the company had new way to lock it and if I wanted it unlocked it would cost few thousand to get it done.

Don’t raise concerns as there is hardly any !

Many times, 'outside' minivans have said - cannot. It is not a factor of cannot, it is a fear factor of having to turn around on a gradient.
The local minivan company that we use (that know the hill) always pick up and drop off.
Mind you, there are some hills on the island that I would refuse to go up.
The one opposite the villas in the photo is just about the worst I have been up, it’s right at the bottom of the hill after dr frogs and is just over a car width in places and insanely steep all the way up . There are some behind Bkk hospital that are steeper but they are only short distance of 30-50m and you turn onto a level road at the top . My wife just about died of heart failure going up it as near 2/3 of the way up the wheels started spinning and she had to boot it to make it to the top . It was that or a very steep roll/slide backwards which would have ended up in us going off the road down a jungle embankment. ????

Was going with a large group to a Bangrak hillside villa for a dinner party one night it was a large group of us coming from Lamai we booked a mini van to take us but he would not drive up the hill to the villa because of the gradient. We had to call our hosts and they had to come down in the 4x4 and take us up in several trips.
Yip have been up a few like that with the car in 4 x 4 mode and even then it was wheel spinning. Made me wonder how they got all the building materials up . ????

At the developers expense? They’re long gone. Duh.
Quite a few developers are still there but the problem is the people that signed off saying it was ok to build . Supposedly most of them have moved to mainland , retired or have passed away .

Transport minister Saksayam Chidchob has told all the Thai international airports to get ready for more tourists after the start of the Special Tourist Visa scheme showed there were no new infections brought into the country.
So everyone that tested positive caught it in the country ? ????

Two of the biggest eyesore areas in samui are chaweng noi and banrak hillside . Having been in the villas in the photos I wouldn’t buy one if I could afford it . Yes the view was nice but not amazing and it is a bit cooler as you have breeze higher up , but other than that the place I was at last was 56 million bht and had a nice terrace but the building was basically a few walls with large glass doors . The other problem with these villas is the roads to access them are either like mt Everest or a fair old drive . Plus the fact that they all are that close together you would have zero privacy and can hardly turn up your stereo etc . No thanks !

I thought he was due in samui then ? Must be a flying visit , quick drive down one street where all the stooges have been told to turn up and make it look busy and as if nothing is wrong . Then back on the plane and same scenario in Phuket before back to bangkok for dinner ! ????

Obsessed much !! How are you ? China ! What’s your name ? China ! Where you from ? China ! ????????

So the hotel owners have told their mates in government that the little amounts doing ASQ just ain’t cutting it and their hotels aren’t making enough money and in response they reduce the quarantine time .
Well be prepared for a big slap of reality as a reduction of 4 days won’t make a bit off difference !! Unless it’s a week at maximum or done away with then things will stay the same numbers wise . ????

So you pay for a cruise that lasts a month and then when you get off the boat in Thailand for a wander you get locked in a hotel room for two weeks and billed for it , all while your room you are paying for on the ship sits empty ! Looooool ????????????
Have these people totally lost touch with reality ? A 5 year old kid would tell you that’s insane ! ????

in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Yeah I have a visa , work permit , Thai wife and own a house so the visa should be no trouble from what I gather . Did you get the insurance here as part of an existing one or from a Thai insurance company? I have seen some people have got their insurance company here to add a note saying Covid was covered etc to the amounts needed and above and other people saying they took out insurance with Thai companies. Thanks .
