  1. Yeah I have a visa , work permit , Thai wife and own a house so the visa should be no trouble from what I gather . Did you get the insurance here as part of an existing one or from a Thai insurance company? I have seen some people have got their insurance company here to add a note saying Covid was covered etc to the amounts needed and above and other people saying they took out insurance with Thai companies. Thanks .

Any idea on the the Mail is reporting a ban on international travel from the UK like that in Malaysia? Sounds like <deleted> https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8902029/Holidays-abroad-outlawed-strict-new-winter-lockdown-rules.html

Unless for work as far as I’m aware . But the flights to Thailand are repatriation flights and not commercial so you can’t just book a seat and go , hence hoop jumping competition the Thai gov are running and you have to meet their criteria to get the COE . I’m assuming if you meet all requirements you can leave but not return for a while possibly, hence I’m not planning on returning for at least a year .

  3. As someone who has been stuck in uk since June due to not wishing to pay the cost to return to Thailand via ASQ etc I am now deciding it isn’t going to change really in the next 3-6 months no matter how many statements the TAT or government release daily and I am probably going to have to cough up to return home .

Can anyone who is doing it or has went through it tell me the quickest time from first applying to having everything done and waiting on the flight date , the cheapest total cost for everything they have paid and lastly if anyone has a full price list for the government listed ASQ hotels for the 14 day stay . Most details will be the same roughly apart from the hotel costs I’m sure , but it saves me the hassle of contacting them all individually if others already know , so thanks in advance.

Due to the way things are here and going and the winter weather arriving I have decided I would rather pay to be locked in a hotel for two weeks than wait things out in uk for months for things to maybe change to enter Thailand but probably not .

  4. Get him a Lenovo pad . Was only a few thousand as far as I remember on lazada and pretty decent . Or you will get cheap phone on lazada but be careful as some of the better names are sim locked to ais etc and you can’t unlock them . I got a cheap Motorola and didn’t notice was locked to true sim. Tried to get it locked in several of usual places and not one could do it , said the company had new way to lock it and if I wanted it unlocked it would cost few thousand to get it done.

Was going with a large group to a Bangrak hillside villa for a dinner party one night it was a large group of us coming from Lamai we booked a mini van to take us but he would not drive up the hill to the villa because of the gradient. We had to call our hosts and they had to come down in the 4x4 and take us up in several trips.

Yip have been up a few like that with the car in 4 x 4 mode and even then it was wheel spinning. Made me wonder how they got all the building materials up . ????

  6. So the hotel owners have told their mates in government that the little amounts doing ASQ just ain’t cutting it and their hotels aren’t making enough money and in response they reduce the quarantine time .

Well be prepared for a big slap of reality as a reduction of 4 days won’t make a bit off difference !! Unless it’s a week at maximum or done away with then things will stay the same numbers wise . ????
