  1. Rent for 2-3 years and see if you still feel the same !

Things can change very quickly here in relationships , cost of living , rules by government etc . Due to mass building in certain places and exchange rate being poor a lot of places are for sale at low prices . Save until you see a bargain you like then check out how legit it all is etc then buy if you like it otherwise build your own with the hassle of doing so .

I bought a fake Omega DeVille watch in Patong in 2005, knowing the movement was fake although the case seemed genuine, and I thought it was a great looking watch...……..lasted a few years so that was ok BUT I couldn't forget how smart it looked and often thought of buying one duty free on one of my overseas trips.

Couldn't get it out of my mind so have just bought a genuine one!!!!!!!

Don’t be in a hurry to service it ! Omega service costs between 15-30,000bht !!????

all the banks I know of offer SMS reporting.  You get instant messages when money is deposited or withdrawn from your account.  SCB even sends me one with the balance every week whether there were any transactions or not.

Yeah I have that now with SCB but I used Bangkok bank at first for years and they were useless at everything ! Even now I have CIMB which doesn't tell me anything really and also SCB website is woeful to use although they seem the best of a bad bunch .

At the moment thats a mute point because there are no checks on bank accounts or source etc, its letters from Embassies etc. If they do introduce bank account checks etc then yes, there could be all sorts of ways to move money around and call it income. If you had good exchange rate and fees, you could send money back and forward to home country.

And there is the answer I was looking for ! Thanks

It is not an enviable position - I have a Burmese brother in law who was doing construction in Bkk - not sure of wages but he was living in corrugated, small slum style housing while working there.

I think you are looking for something way too specific... there probably is no rule that says you cannot work bringing som tom salad to construction workers during their lunch hour and if there were, it would not disavow bringing them other foods... I don't think they need to spell out every possible manual labor job...

I think wages are actually around a third or half of a Thai and as low as a quarter from what I was told. They eat , sleep , work in same place basically sleeping in tin shacks usually .

If I won,  I could live with paying the taxes.

Yeah im sure I could too. The example I seen online was 700 million. The amount is initially taxed at a rate , then there was something else , winners tax also which varied depending on which state you were in. Basically if it said 700 million then at the worst case you could end up with around ONLY 290 million !! Although im quite willing to accept these problems !! ????

Is it possible to buy a lottery ticket from Thailand?

Yes . Use thelotter.com and a vpn . Could buy it before a few weeks ago no problem without vpn but now seems blocked unless you use one.

Save your money as I already have the winning numbers !! ????

Oh and if you think that you will get the actual prize of what they say then forget it . The US taxman is going to take around 30-50% in taxes !!!
