Don't be silly you should always have travel insurance or available funds to pay any necessary .medical requirements. Thai Covid insurance is inadequate and if it pays only after you have settled actual medical bills.

Not a surprising comment seeing state of emergency due for renewal

We are going to have to live with the Viras to obtain herd immunity and concentrate in vaccination. Lock downs and restrictions just don't work

What would Thailand be like without the Chinese Olegards?

Of course he is happy but what about the tourist industry are they happy?

Does anyone check if drivers have a Driving License until they are actually involved in an accident?

Sure massive arrivals because PCR Test delayed until arrival with all consequential expenses is unlikely to increase international tourism. Let's see what happens after Songran holidays.

Does Thailand really need submarines? Probably not just cancel and use money wisely to stimulate the economy.

Very unlikely International arrivals have increased owing pre-depature PCR test no longer required. Main obstacal remains Thailand Pass until this is cancelled there will be no significant increase in arrivals unless they are in transit to other Asian Countries

Unfortunately there are many hungry people about due to the Pandemic who are unemployed. Do not display your wealth and make certain all your valuables are locked away This is common sense now and in the past where ever you are

Reinstatement of unrestricted entry into the country and extension of visa exemption to 60 days would encourage some international tourists but rising inflation and war in Ukraine will restriction numbers willing and able to travel. Tourism will not return to prepandemic levels any time soon so incentives are required as the gravy train will not be returning.

Covid is endemic in Thailand you only have to look at official figures whereas the actual number of Infections is probably much higher therefore visitors are more likely to contract Covid after arrival from local transmission and entry conditions are pointless and should be scraped

Unfortunately Covid and war in Ukraine is going to harm every countries economy with rising inflation and interest rates not seen on such a scale for decades. Tourism is unlikely to return to prepandemic levels any time soon but relaxation of entry conditions and visa requirements will assist although Thailand has lost the initiative in these respect to other South East Asian Contries. Visa free entry should be allowed and extension of visa exemption to 60 days would be helpful as well as a welcoming smile upon entry by officials which has been severely lacking for some years now from what used to be called land of smiles

Would be far better if he concentrated on Covid vaccines and opening up the country without outdated conditions of entry.

There is to be no golden moment for tourism this year or any time soon. If Thailand wants to keep a tourism industry it has to invest in its future but this does not appear to be the case many potential tourists have decided to opt for other countries in the region who have already opened up without entry restrictions who will report good modern and far cheaper facilities than Thailand when they go home leaving Thailand to pick up the crumbs for future tourists in a very much smaller market there will be no Russian/Chinese tourists for a very long time.

Don't think will see many Russian tourists coming to Thailand or anywhere else in the foreseeable future. Thos that say they are stranded in Thailand should put out a hand of friendship to Ukranians in a similar position

I think as a country Thailand should make the effort to copy exactly what the Chinese are doing, that way the glorious Chinese tourist will one day return.
So your suggestion is Thailand should follow China and close borders until Zero Covid thus isolating herself for the foreseeable future and then arrange travel bubble with China to allow return Chinese tourists only

Must be plenty of CTV recording to see what really happened!!!

This was to be expected Thailand is one of last countries to maintain a state of emergency and entry restictions in respect of covid. Why?

Why can’t the Thai Govt speed up opening the doors to tourism?

If Thai Pass is not cancelled immediately there is a risk that the next high season will be lost whatever happens tourists will be in much lesser numbers than prepandenic owing war in Ukraine, Chinese Covid restrictions and increased inflation including vastly increased air fares.
