TAT officials making misguided statements shows how naive they are. Have a good trip to Moscow If you get there you may find you are stranded without money as a guest of the Russian State.

Star wars or stars in your eyes.
Any threats to Thailand more likely to be cyber related so better to build up technology defences.

Really impressive numbers but forgot to mention how much Baht they will be contributing to the Thai economy. Inflationary pressures will increase air fares by at least 100% above precovid levels also unless there is a drastic devaluation of the Baht other competing South East Asian Countries are far cheaper than Thailand.

Thailand is no longer a third world country so it is no longer a good place to retire on a fixed income . Having said that UK is suffering big inflationary costs of up to 20% as is much of Europe. Days of cheap food are now just a memory. If you can't afford to live in Thailand plan to go home.

Rubbish Iran is unable fo trade in Dollars as all payments have to be remited through USA that is how swift works. Most Chinese imports of Oil from Iran are paid for in exchange for goods. What price China pays for oil from Iran is never disclosed but it will be way below world market levels

The answer is really simple Russia has signed its death warrant by starting a war that it cannot win economically so unless Thailand wants to donate any exports to Russian they would be wise to stop them Russians now living in Thailand may find their external sources of income no longer exist. The hard facts of life is every country will suffer economically owing this war.

Difficult to foresee any up turn in tourism now that war in Europe has broken out with threat from Putin to unleash nuclear weapons which could destroy the world Putin has put himself in a position which is very difficult to extricate himself.

Realistically even when all restrictions withdrawn which should happen sooner rather than later tourism will not return to prepandenic levels. There is also the problem of Putin's aggression which at the very least will swell inflation and ability of people to travel economically.

Russia has amassed military capability for a full scale invasion of Ukraine which is likely to happen imminently leading to a full scale war which could escalate to other countries Poland in particular which was the start of WW2. China is likely to take the opportunity of invading Taiwan which they have stated is their ultimate aim. International Tourism is likely to stop in this situation as it will be impossible to travel safely. Thailand like many countries will most likely see drop in trade and a further intervention of China in its affairs

2 hours ago, nightfox said:What's the big deal as just about every country in Asia charges a foreigner to enter their country. Only difference is Thailand calls a entry fee where most call it visa on arrival just like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam as last time I checked it was $30 USD + to enter those countries.
Thailand also charges visa fees understand delay implementing 300 Bht entry fee is because airlines have stated this is illegal. Alternative is simple increase the departure tax to Bht 1,000 and include with tickets cost it would have to be payable by every one including Thais. This is a small amount considering enormous expenses to enter Thailand under the Thailand Pass which is considered mainly of interest to sex tourists as not family attractive as costs are outrageous

Tourists have been tracked for a long time before the Pandemic every hotel and other places where tourists stay have to report within 24 hours of arrival full details of tourists passports. This information is also part of the tourist visa application process which requires applicants to declare full details of places where they have confirmed acommodation during their stay in Thailand

Don't have to be an expert with such prediction however you need to ask why are infections in Thailand consistently so low since the very start of the pandemic. Probably lack of testing which case no point in continuing reporting number of reported infections and accept it is now endemic in Thailand.

You just have to log into your visa account to check if payment has gone through or in pending items awaiting clearance.

Russian Tourists Struggle to Leave Thailand Amid Russia-Ukraine Crisis

Really surprised you have all been brain washed Russia is a large country of which about 60% in Asia. There is no closure of airspace back to Russia however many of the Russians in Thailand are part of Putin's elite who may not want to return to Russia for fear of what may happen to them meanwhile there are many Russians in Samui and Phuket who have invested heavily in property who can easily accomodate the relatively small number of Russias who allege they cannot return home.
