  1. Let's wait for the mid term elections shall we, the MAGA mob has already figured out that Trump and his sycophant GOP have taken them to the cleaners.
  2. On youtube an excerpt of Fox news was shown where the lady was interviewing the minister for trade I believe, they were eagerly awaiting the newest employment figures to show up on the screen, being Trumpists they thought this would exonerate Trumps policies, instead minus 33,000 came up on the screen and she quickly changed the subject and glossed over the incident. It's pretty obvious really, if imports are slowing down it means fewer goods are being sold, it means fewer workers are needed to move those goods, this affects port workers, transport, and retail workers. Factory workers at Fords and GM are being laid off, some Walmart branches are being closed which means those people have less discretionary income which in turn will cause other places like McDonalds to close, it's a vicious loop.
  3. Yeah, 33,000 jobs lost against a forecast of plus 99,000. Way to go Trump.
  4. Or the names of most of the countries.
  5. All he has done is to show America is untrustworthy. Canada has now turned to Europe for defense and energy contracts, Steel and Aluminium once earmarked for the USA is now headed for Europe ( export increase of 346%) and Asia. Jet fighter procurement's from Sweden, Radar from the UK, subs from Germany. Meanwhile American companies bemoan a lack of high grade steel and special aluminium from Canada as well as Canadian oil, American refineries are adapted to Canadian, not American crude, the oil is heading to China while Europe takes Canadian LNG instead of American. Trumps tariffs have created a void that Asia and Europe are willing to fill. 5 large American firms have already relocated to Canada due to tariff instability. America has lost its leadership role under Trump, supply chains are being adjusted away from American influence, Greenland being a good example, the arrogance Trump showed towards Denmark and Greenland opened the door to mineral contracts being awarded to Canada and Europe, while China is expanding into Africa. American isolationism is going to be expensive.
  6. What policy results? A falling Dollar, investments retreating from the USA going to the EU and Asia instead, the treasury having to borrow 540 billion Dollars in the first quarter alone only made possible by raising the interest paid by 380 basis points, farmers having to burn their crops because (a) there are no immigrant workers to harvest them and (b) because countries are turning to Canada, Brazil, Argentine, etc. for farm produce, 88% of American soy beans can't be sold because China now has long term contracts with farms in Brazil, the EU and Asia are now turning to Canada for LNG and auto parts while Canada has increased the price of electricity sold to the US by 20%. Bessant says talks with China are progressing, that's a lie, they are at a stand still, the world isn't kowtowing to America, the Eu is nudging closer to China instead. Only 54% of trade deals are being done world wide in Dollars, tendency falling, the digital Yuan is replacing swift in many countries for international payments, the Petro Dollar is dying, Saudi Arabia will take Yuan, Euros and even Rupia. Trump has diminished the standing of America with his chaos and lack of dignity.
  7. Ignorance. If it was mandatory to vote in the USA he would have never been elected, he appealed to the lowest common denominator and they came out of the woodwork in droves while the silent majority couldn't be bothered.
  8. you can only vouch for yourself but not for your partner. Two decent middle aged women in my village have to take medication for HIV because their husbands (both now dead due to aids) used prostitutes. Both women are fit and healthy have been on medication for around 10 years.
  9. Even scarier for those using them.
  10. The path to true love is never straight or easy.
  11. I agree, a bite from a cobra isn't immediately fatal, he had time to seek assistance.
  12. It is in Georgia.....and that's all that counts for the silly biach.
  13. and she wants peace for the whole world.
  14. I'll grant you that Trump doesn't have the knowledge or intelligence to even recognize the problem let alone to find a solution, there are adults in the background force feeding Trump and his team with colourful charts. Trump's job was to make painful solutions palatable to an American public who thought 1929 couldn't ever happen again. Unfortunately Trump is being Trump.
  15. Exactly, last time I sat on the veranda with my daughter who was visiting me from quiet safe Germany and we listened enthralled to the artillery firing a few kilometers away.
  16. No, I'm not overly bothered, I wrote it tongue in cheek but as Oscar Wilde once wrote, "A man who calls a spade a spade should be made to use one". Form and presentation do matter if one is to be taken seriously, you presumably choose your clothes, matching colour with care to represent yourself to the world at large, speech is just, if not more, important.
  17. There are no arguments here, only subjective opinions. Trump is doing what has to be done, the out of control national and fiscal debt can only be solved by a huge dollar devaluation and a gradual loss of the reserve currency status. Trump is attempting to do this through chaos, by blaming other sovereign states for producing quality affordable goods that Americans want to buy with debt supplied by these same sovereign countries. It has become clear to most economists that this state of affairs can't continue. A well educated president with a competent cabinet could have explained this in a dignified coherent manner but Trump isn't an intelligent man and lacks honesty and dignity while he has surrounded himself with an incompetent team of sycophants, so instead he uses chaos and threats while attempting to water down the constitution. His MAGA base aren't the sharpest knives in the draw, flag saluting, hand on heart credit card holders who believe it is their God given right to consume what others produce using borrowed money. It is understandable that Trump (and many others) see the only solution ist to bring back America's industrial base and start exporting to the world and to produce goods for the American market, first step has to be to debase the Dollar (which he is doing). This wont work, even with a debased currency American workers earn too much, how could a Chinese worker earning just a few Dollars an hour buy an American car? Where will America find cheap labor to produce mass quantities of Iphones at an affordable price? American companies already invested in Asia with secure supply lines aren't going to up sticks and invest billions in the chaos that is America, there is a whole world to sell their products too, America will just be left behind. The solution......I have no idea but America could start with humility.
  18. Native speaker, although for some, proper use of the native tongue requires extra tuition.
  19. If you start with a plural you shouldn't end with a singular, but I'm sure we will overlook this mistake bigly
  20. It sure did, now America has changed into a world wide comic number.
