  1. The name, 'Really Cool Air' doesn't 'sound' very professional, almost like say 'Spliff air', confidence just wont arise.
  2. Yes, as the old British PM McMillan said when asked ''what could go wrong?" He answered "Events old boy, events"
  3. The best laid plans of mice and men........One can have power, control and reason and then causality raises its head. The ancient Britons who took on Roman ways and culture and acquired great wealth and status by working with them, were on town councils and lived in villas and dressed as Romans were left desolate when, due to the dissolution of the empire, the Romans left Briton, CAUSALITY, unforeseen events a 1,000 miles away brought about the unimaginable. There is no absolute power or control.
  4. Thanathorn appears to be a decent person, as yet not corrupted by politics, which is why he doesn't stand a chance.
  5. Even a lion has to submit to changing realities in the jungle.
  6. The Thai people have allowed this to happen and their working class sons in uniform are the tools that make it possible, they, the majority, could, for instance, point their guns away from their folk in the opposite direction.
  7. People get the government they deserve, making rules to distance the military from politics wont help. Democracy (if there really is such a thing) is organic, it grows slowly until its roots are deep. Thai soldiers are citizens in uniform and yet they allow themselves to be used as an instrument for their corrupt superiors, no deep roots there, can you imagine any Northern European country in today's world where soldiers would obey an illegal order to stage a coup? No, it would be nipped in the bud and the generals arrested but not in Thailand, the subservient nature of the Thais to the hierarchy actually invites a coup. The move is the right one however, it's a start, drawing lines in the sand but the citizens themselves must build a wall on the line themselves.
  8. Insurance probably wouldn't help in this case, they usually disqualify motor bike driving and in addition he was probably over the limit, did he even have an international license? I see only one end to this and it isn't good.
  9. More likely is that this 'crackdown' will die a natural NACC death, there is too much money at stake for it to run its course beyond the known Chinese cases. BJ may get his knuckles rapped in private and those boxes will resemble Pompey with all the dust they will collect.
  10. He looks like an intellectual from academia who would do no harm.
  11. This is getting blown out of proportion, Mr. Carhuff has received an apology and no doubt some cash for the embarrassment caused to him and the guard has been sacked.....leave it be, this isn't America where you can sue someone for thousands because your snowflake melted.
  12. I know....but it shouldn't be allowed????. General Wolfe defeated the French at Quebec.
  13. A bit extreme I thought but it spared the teen prison time and the the two cops the paper work which was all they were concerned about.
  14. Arrested, how civilized. About 20 years ago an Englishman told me he was having his bar renovated on Koh Samui, the workers complained that two days in a row some of their tools had been stolen overnight, so he waited that night to see if the thief would return. Sure enough he caught a Thai teenager red handed and his wife called the police. When he handed him over to the two cops they asked the falang what he wanted done with him, surprised he said you're the police, arrest him. They just shook their heads and said the teen wasn't worth the trouble so they took him outside and broke both his arms......as a warning they said nonchalantly and then drove off leaving him groaning in pain.
  15. He should be arrested for his name alone. If he has made a false statement and signed it he is in big trouble, this will be a court case.
  16. This breaks my heart, it's beyond disgusting, normally I don't read anything concerning a child's death because it affects me emotionally, I made a mistake this time, I thought the child would be saved.
