Outrage in Thailand: Boy Claims to Be Buddha’s Son in Bizarre Scam
soalbundy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Buddha didn't profess to having magical powers, he merely gave instructions on how to live a good life free of dukha or suffering so I don't see how his son could have divine powers. No doubt the boy will have his followers as most Thais have no idea about Buddhism -

"The sharp snoops of the immigration Bureau's police...." The BMW is back on the road again it seems. What really happened is the silly tranny came through immigration and her passport glowed red on the computer, a button was pressed and a couple of bored cops snapped on the handcuffs. -

UK Economic Rebound Triumph Amidst Years of Disappointment
soalbundy replied to Social Media's topic in World News
We all have our likes and dislikes, the UK may be a delightful place for some strange eccentric people just not for me.....or my large family who have all lived in Australia for the last 30 years while my cousins live in Spain. There are things I like about the UK, the sense of humour and the departure terminal at Heathrow for instance. My favourate place would be Dubrovnik but here I am in Thailand, the cosmos had a little giggle. -

55555, now you a playing that silly patriotic card. What did I desert from, let me see, poor opportunities, poor housing, low salaries and boredom. We are supposedly all masters of our own destinies, I chose mine without regret. where do you live these days, not queuing up at a food bank or at the A&E getting a knife wound treated I suppose, or are you in Thailand you traitor? -

It's still an awful place to live, give me the continent any day. -
Greed has always ruled the world, perhaps it was better disguised long ago, greed is just an exaggerated insurance of existence, a desperate refusal to accept the impermanence of things, including life. Nobody ever wanted less but there was an acceptance of what is by the majority, it took the bravery of a few to organize and rightfully demand more. As for social media, it is a choice, at least it is for those not indoctrinated already, this forum is as close as I get to social media. It is informative, interesting and often amusing. Life is change, never static, it is only better or worse when judging from a past perspective, in reality it is neither, it just is. Many years ago the walz was declared provocative and immoral while later sending millions to their deaths in the trenches was a patriotic duty. Society is generally self correcting, on the heels of 'woke' will come the backlash, nothing too extreme can last longer than a generation the young will initiate change to the outrage of the old. In my young past I drove cars from Ford, Vauxhall, Leyland etc. and they were often breaking down, 19 years ago I bought a Honda Jazz, I still drive it, rust free and trouble free, it has never let me down, I don't need to be up to my elbows in grease with cut fingers, I'm grateful for progress. I'm also grateful for computers, at the click on the keyboard I have more access to knowledge than a professor 50 years ago.

Probably a lot more offshore, he will have been substantially rewarded to allow illegal operations to continue and to halt certain investigations into the well heeled and powerful, in fact it's a wonder that his case has come this far, somebody made a mistake and oiled the wheels of justice. -

Public Indecency at Wat Phra Kaew Spurs National Outrage and Debate

More likely a 'concerned member of the community' dying of boredom in his false understanding of 'Buddha nature'. Does he think that a building or statue can be divine ? that these inanimate objects can be insulted ? The outrage lies in his own closed mind ignorant of the teachings of a religion he professes to venerate, Buddha would smile at him and sigh, I would kick his ar$e.
