  1. What happens if i... a) Purchase a new car from a dealer and pay them directly from my overseas account. This is not my income, its is their income. b) I purchase a new condo off a developer. I pay them directly from overseas. The money hasnt touched my account, in either case. Any ideas?
  2. Hi Regarding the new rules requiring residents to pay tax on foreign remittance. If I purchase a high value item such as a car and transfer the money to the seller - a company (ie a new car from a dealer), from my overseas account directly to their (business) account - is this taxable? I havent remitted money to my personal account right. Its sent from overseas to a Thai company. Or how about if I buy a new condo off-plan and send the payment to the developer directly from overseas? Is this my personal income? Its not right - its a business income from the seller of the asset?

  5. Im guessing due to the new tax rules if we have overseas broker we will have to file a tax return of some kind to show money brought into Thailand. I want to selll my assets I have in Thailand and put those into a stock broker in Thailand for the sake of convenience. I am not trading just investing in some major US Index ETFs. I am here throughout the year but dont have a work permit. Thanks
  6. Thanks. So in this case the total taxes payable on US dividends for non us citizen living in Thailand is 15 percent?
  7. If I invest in USA stocks via my overseas stock broker do I have to pay taxes on a) Capital Gains or b) Dividends? I would like to ask the same question again, if I were to invest in USA stocks using a Thai broker (such as the Kasikorn bank stock investment platform) Thanks

  9. the account pin is the same number as the phone pin. So you can set it up on any phone and use your phones pin number.. Yes it needs mobile data not wifi, but it could be from any sim card. How can the app know if the mobile data is from the registered sim number. It doesnt seem possible (havent tested it).
  10. I just installed Kbank app on new phone The only thing i needed to do was type in passport nunber and my bank account number Now I am able to transfer all funds out of my account. This is incredibly bad security. Heads up
  11. My father has a will in the UK that mentions assets like houses in the UK etc. That is divided up amoungst the kids I live in Thailand with my father and he has to keep 800k (maybe more) for his visa each year He is concerned when he passes away the Thai government will get that money If no Thai will is made will that money be passed into the estate in the UK once the money can eventually recovered from Thai bank Otherwise he can make a Thai will. In such case he could just will that to me separately? I am converned its difficult for an estate executor in the UK to get the funds to Thailand and then to split them accordingly to the UK directions etc. I am just worried something would clash. Any suggestions? Thanks
  12. My father and I live in Thailand. He has to keep 800k in his bank account at all times. He is worried when he snuffs it the Thai government will take it. He already has a will in the UK saying how the estate is broken up between his kids etc. We were advised to get a second will which works in Thailand. What happens after he snuffs it? What happens to the money? Would a will in the UK allow the executor to get the money out of a Thai account into the estate in UK somehow? Or would a Thai will be needed? Could the Thai will conflict with the UK will. UK will just says everything is divided up and doesnt mention anything about Thailand at all. Dad gave me a second debit card so I can withdraw the funds after he passes, but it occurred to me that is probably not legal - although the bank was happy to give him a second ATM card. Finally has anyone got any suggestions on a lawyer to do the will here in Thailand?
  13. so cant add to thb balance in wise. So i try to add 1000 eur or 1000usd. I thought it would just be like an international debit card payment. I dont have problems buying things from international websites checking out in USD using my kbank debit card. I guess they put an actual block on Wise so people cant send money out of Thailand Perhaps some of the other Thai banks would allow it?
  14. Hi I tried to use my kasikorn debit card to buy EUR in my Wise account My Wise account is registered in Thailand. I get the OTP from Kasikorn but then Wise says Your card payment attempt was not successful. Please double check the card details and try again. If the details are correct then it's possible that online payments haven't been enabled for this card. To enable these payments, please contact your bank or check this card's settings in your online bank. Alternatively you can fund this payment via another payment method or by using a different card. Has anyone else been sucessful in using Thai debit card to credit a wise balance. Thanks
