SooKee replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Oh my, we're on a roll with these now! Two honest cabbies and and honest cop, all within a couple of days. It was probably thought too much to go for the hat-trick all in one day ???? -

Line Man. Standard meter rates plus the LM THB 20 booking fee. Way cheaper than Grab.

Ah, thanks for that. I know Nut has gone into politics and wondered if they'd sold up for that and / or other reasons.

Friend of mine is planning to visit Phuket soon and previously he always stayed at either the Hemingways Hotel in Soi Sansabai or at their Silk Hotel which IIRC was over near the Best Western. The owners also had Delish Restaurant around Soi Keb Sap. He's been checking to book and just messaged me saying it seems they have all vanished, maybe with the exception of Heroes bar? Any idea if they are still going, closed down, sold, changed name etc. Been 8 years or so since I lived in Phuket and 3 since I've been so I've no idea.

Another envelope? ???? -
Right, thanks. I'' try that next time. maybe they changed something. I think the problem was not so much not being able to access US$ in Wise, more that the account April told me to pay into was in a French Bank and it wouldn't accept a payment in anything other than Euro (assuming you used the "pay into our account" from Wise and not using a Wise debit card).
-
Out of interest. How did you pay for the US$ using Wise. I looked into this ages ago and, at the time, the April US$ account was in a French bank and Wise told me I can only pay in Euros to a French account. In the past I've used my credit card and had the extra cost of about £40 to the already (rapidly climbing) premium as a result of using a non US$ card. Annoying.

I've tried several of the Maison Jean Phillipe offerings (bread, muffins, bagels etc.) and not been impressed with any of them. Marginally better (if at all) than the Thai generic stuff, just packed in smaller quantities in cellophane bags with a flashy label at 3-4 times the price. Pass.

I was in Central World yesterday on floor 5. Lots of people waiting at the vax facility there, seating area full and there were probably 100+ more standing waiting. Combination of it being only the second day of operation, a Saturday and the fact that (unlike the last time at Central World) it's only operating Fri, Sat & Sun I guess. The last booster I had was at CW and then it was very quiet as it was running every day. Time before was at MBK, also a daily operation. I'll use the MBK option this time I think even though the weekend only operation at CW may quiet down after the initial rush is over. I wasn't planning to bother with another booster unless it was Bivalent but now that's available I'll take it, particularly given the predictable post-Songkran surge in infections.

Certainly seems a bit flaky at the moment. I never got the reminder email from Immigration at all this time. Submitted the report online as normal 14 days before it was due, next day, came back rejected, "details incomplete" was the reason given (despite completing the online screens exactly the same as I normally do). Submitted the exact same information again, 3 days later, approved. ????

Yeah the portal has been working fine for me too, the URL is the same and the same one I have used for so many times I've lost count. Just this time. For that reason I'm wondering if something in the system got changed either at extension renewal (it's the first 90 Day since then) or when I did the Cert of Residence, either that or something at the staff end. I'll try the app tomorrow if the latest portal attempt fails.

In preparation for (hopefully not) another rejection email I just opened the "IMMe Service" app which I've not used to report before and I notice that, unlike the web online reporting, the app does have a 'TM6 number' question and a 'means of arrival question'. Given the way things work here, makes me wonder if there's some new staffer going through the applications and, because the online application lacks answers to questions that it doesn't ask, has considered the form incomplete? If it bounces again I'll give the app a try and see how it goes before doing the in person trek.

Well that's annoying! Been using online reporting for 90 day reports since I can't recall when. This time I noticed I didn't get the 'report due' reminder email I've been getting previously but I did the report anyway (due in 13 days). Chaeng Wattana (BKK). Filled the online form in EXACTLY as I have filled it in EVERY time before (I even take screen shots so I remember when / where I used upper / lower case etc.) and absolutely nothing was different. Submitted yesterday and I just got a 'Rejected' email giving the reason "Information invalid or incomplete". I have absolutely no idea why or where they consider the information being "invalid or incomplete" as it was filled in exactly the same as last time. Very strange. Just sent off another one with exactly the same information again! Will see how this one goes. I even went back and checked the actual reports that the system sends to them comparing the last and previous, nothing different at all. Nothing has changed since the last report, same address, not left the country. Only two things have happened, renewed my extension and applied for a "certificate of residence". I hope nothing with either of those IO interactions has messed up the address record so that it no longer matches. Hopefully it will get approved this time and I won't have to make a trip out to CW to try and get it sorted so it works again. If it gets rejected again I'll try the app before reverting to manual.
