It's clear that this new site is very much still a work in progress. Had another email arrive from Immigration yesterday indicating that documents now need to be uploaded for the address at which foreigners will stay, in addition to the uploads for the system user. In some cases, such as the owner registering him / herself or where there is just just one property, they will be the same. Just went back and checked my details again and the address I registered now has a green 'Approved' badge next to it. Seems they have gone back to providing help by way of diagrams and explanations on the site rather than videos, last time I checked 3 of the 4 "How to" videos had been taken down by YouTube. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30TH/Home.html

AFAIK tamping is only needed for Espresso machines. When I was trying to fathom the best method I started doing a gentle tamp just to level the grounds a bit in my Moka pot and even that caused problems. I do use a paper filter in the pot though, sits between the grounds and the top filter. I found using one slightly smaller than the rubber seal better, an exact fit led to coffee bubbling out because the seal was not tight.

I've never got on with Robusta personally, all down to our own tastes. I've tried numerous brands over the years, including many Arabica / Robusta mixes in varying proportions, all in search of a favourite. I just stick to 100% Arabica now. Robusta certainly has price going for it, it's the first thing I look for if I see a very cheap / bargain coffee, 99% of the time it's because it's Robusta. I do find it to be be more bitter with a stronger and harsher taste, less sweet tasting than Arabica, pretty much as per the dozens of websites I've looked at, when I started looking beyond Nescafe all those years ago, said. It has up to double the caffeine content of Arabica, accounting for the bitter taste.

Submitted my latest 31 October, due 14 November. This is my first 90 Day after doing a new TM30 (just moved address) using the new TM30 online site so hopefully there will be no spanner thrown in the works from the TM30 side. At least if the turn round times are getting shorter (7 days or so vs 17 for my last) it'll give me chance to submit again if I get a "details don't match" rejection.

Just ordered some of this as we are running a bit low, will give it a try. I've tried numerous brands but for the last several years I've stuck with Hillkoff Arabica Italian roast, may well end up going back to it but feel like we need a slight change in taste. Doi Chang doesn't really do it for me at all. Tried the Makro Segafredo (I think, black and red bags) too but wasn't that impressed, and none of the Bon Cafe roasts have ever been a success either.

TM30 website "view report" / TM47 type detail
SooKee replied to SooKee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ah right. Several years since I've done one, slipped my mind. Likely too much to hope for that there will be a new, modernised integrated system that just works. Next potential hurdle will be whether my 90 day report, due mid November, will bounce as a result of using my newly updated TM30 address as opposed to my old 90 day address. Never a dull moment 😞 -
TM30 website "view report" / TM47 type detail
SooKee replied to SooKee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I know full well the 90 day reporting is a different system! Just curious, as per the original post, as to why there are fields for 90 day reporting information on the TM30 record. The 90 day reporting system is different now, it may not be in the future. I very much doubt they included the 90 day reporting fields just to make the TM30 page look pretty. If you take the time to actually READ the second paragraph it makes it clear I'm talking about future possibilities. Otherwise, why have the fields there at all? -
TM30 website "view report" / TM47 type detail
SooKee replied to SooKee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes, in my case that would be correct. I just opted for the longest stay period the system allows, you could select shorter or whatever. There's no guidance as such and I doubt it doesn't matter much, more than likely it's for hotels etc with confirmed booking dates. -
TM30 website "view report" / TM47 type detail

2 days ago. When you log in, select the address that you created (top left). It will then open up the registrations page with lines of entries for the people staying. In my case it's just one line, me. Bottom left between No. and Address there is the magnifying glass to open up the full entry. Marked with a red circle, clicking that opens up the page in the OP. -
Having recently completed the new TM30 registration and report filing process, I pulled up the detail for the address I entered and used the magnifying glass (view report) icon to bring up the full details of the entry, mainly to check to see if it was working and also to see if there was any print or download receipt option (which of course there isn't!). All working fine but what I did notice is that below your TM30 details there is a section of the screen that has a (currently blank) set of details that you would normally complete for a 90 day / TM47 report (visa type, point of entry, permitted stay date etc.). Those details are not asked for when you file the TM30 and there is no way, at least that I can find, to subsequently open the entry and update them yourself. I wonder if that missing detail will subsequently automatically update from the TM47 system (or be completed by an IO using details from that system). If that's the case, it may be the reason for the conflicting reports and information around the do / do not need to update your current TM30.

My last report to CW was submitted 15 days before the due date. The approval came 17 days after submission, 2 days after the due date. I had an appointment booked at CW for an "in person" report on the 7th day after the due date, just in case. Luckily I didn't need it. I'd seen several posts saying folks had cancelled and re-submitted online applications after 4-5 days, I just let mine run, my thinking being that cancelling / re-submitting may only result in your application being further down the queue. I also noticed I had three submissions before that came back rejected because the details didn't match. They DID match, every single time and when I eventually got approved, the form had also been submitted using exact the same details. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the 'rejected' response was being used the clear the queue down when they had too much of a backlog.

New TM30 Registration Web Site
SooKee replied to BKK57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
We just moved so needed a new TM30, I registered as a tenant / possessor. Uploaded front page of the contract and passport details page (same as the old system). Got immediate authorisation, added the address and did my own TM30. -
My last one took 17 days IIRC, 2 days after its due date.

Having just moved to a new address I completed a new TM30 as a Possessor (tenant) at the new place. I uploaded just two documents to register on the system (the same documents that you needed to register as a Possessor using the old system / app), passport details page and copy of first page of contract, so yes, registering as a tenant is still possible. Immediately received a "please verify your email" email, clicked the link to confirm and immediately received "account authorised" email with the login password that the system will require you to change when you log in for the first time. Added the address then added me to the address, all instant with "Status: Informed". As as been mentioned, it's a pity there's no "print receipt" option, the screen shot isn't a great option as it's not easy to see that it's from a receipt / report completed page, it's just your details with the Status: Informed in fairly small type at the top, even if it is in green. Interestingly I noticed that when you enter your details as an occupant at the address it only asks for name, passport, DOB, phone number and length of stay. When you then search and pull up your record, the type of visa, port of entry, length of stay info is also there but just blank. I am guessing that will be populated at a later stage. Odd. The user guide videos Immigration put up were quite useful, glad I watched them when I did as two of them have been taken down now for violating YouTube Terms of Service. Hmmm, less useful 🙄

Same here on the laptop. There used to be a 'Clear Notifications' option next to 'View all notifications'.

New TM30 Registration Web Site
SooKee replied to BKK57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I suppose it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they'll link it again once the new website has had all the kinks ironed out, or even release yet another app, I won't be holding my breath though. e-service launches here all seem to be pretty shambolic (especially when it's government department based) and that's being kind! -
Not 'exactly got his finger on the pulse" simply because his opinion differs to yours right? ???? Your'e welcome to your opinions as others are to theirs, he's lived there for 15 years so I suspect he has his finger on the pulse well enough. Your view / opinion is not metric to gauge whether others have "their finger on the pulse", it's an opinion, nothing more. Dumb comment IMO. Maybe he's looking at it from his perspective and what it's like now vs what it was like 6-8 years. Last time I was there was about 3 years ago, I thought it it was pretty dismal then and certainly nowhere near as lively as it was years, quite a dump in fact. The post was nothing to do with whether what's left there is busy or not, or whether people "seem happy". It's comparative.

I thought that was the case, didn't realise Heroes was gone too though (but a friend in Patong told me Bangla is a shadow of it's former self, Tiger demolished too as far as I know). Delish is no more too, the whole soi has gone.

Mass frenzy of activity, concern and hot-air for 10 days then back to normal until the next frenzy inducing crisis shows up. Same as the woman mown down by, oh yes, a cop, while crossing the road, hive of activity for what, a week? ????
