  1. Thank you all for your replies,

im well on the way to getting my head around what i need to do this.

( tourist visa, too O visa, too One year extension of saty visa, plus multi reentery permit)

    Got one more question.

is this correct about what paper work i will need for both visas

Copy plus originals, Condo papers (my own place)

    Copy plus original, Electric bill.

Copy plus original Bank letter with proof of funds from out side of thailand and up to date passbook .

    Passport size photos.

    TM86 TM7 TM8 forms

Did i miss any paper work ?

    Thanks guy

  2. For the timing of doing this,

Do I need to wait for any length of time between the application form O visa too one year extension of stay visa, this is very important as I still work away from Thailand, so I could find myself out side the country if there is any restrictions on time for this. This is all a result of the latest restrictions immigration has lined up for us all, so I’m going down the retirement route a little bit earlier then I wanted to.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thank you

  3. Hi

I need some help regarding getting a one year a retirement visa for the first time, plus a I year multi re-entry permit at the same time.

Was going to use an agency but 30, 0000 is way to much for this I feel, I have searched on the forum but found to many new and old posts on this.

What do I need to get to do this? and what’s the costs.

At present I have a triple entry tourist visa from UK, I have transferred 850,000 to a Thai bank account. this will have been in the bank for three months by September; this is when I plan to start this application. I’m over 50 and single.

Do I need to change from tourist visa to an O Visa first? If so what type? What paper work is required for this?

Then do i change to a one year retirement visa, what paper work is required for this?

Also I need a one year multi re-entry permit, what paper work is required for that as well?

Are there any time restrains on any of the above applications? can it be done in a few days?

This will be done at Jomtien immigration in chonburi in September.

Sorry about the amount of questions but I want to get it right first time when I go.

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thank you.

  4. They should all be ashamed of themselves, taking jobs away from good Thai citizens.

Plenty of Thais can do this job, you don’t need to be national of a country to talk theat language.

Also very embarrassing to see them stoop so low, cant they just do normal things in Thailand like the rest of us.,

    Bunch of drop kicks bah.gif

This place will be crawling with Chinese by that time. I cringe to think what the place will look like.

    Have to agree.

I lived in Pat's for over 7 year's in the end it drove me mad moved out some 7 year's ago, I go back on the odd occasion 3 day's at the most, changed in that time you had better believe it now full of Russians Chinese Traffic horrendous.

As other's have said keep coming on holiday's and enjoy, but what ever you do don't make plan's yet unless you speak Russian of course. Why do I say that well 3 year's ago not one in sight now their every ware taken over restaurant's bar's and you being a non Russian are not made welcome. In 5 year's it'll change big time and maybe not for the better.

Tip NEVER buy rent as you'll never be able to sell regardless of what peep's say if you want to get out and believe me you will at some time you'll be stuck with it.

Best of luck with your dream's but just keep them as that, 5 year's is a life time, in Pat's 4 life time's.

If you re-read my post you will see that I said when you sell it.

You haven't whether it has served you well is immaterial try and sell it and you will find out what you will get and how long it would take.

Have had several friend's in the past who owned condo's all have lost monies in all but one case over 40% having to reduce the price just to get it off their hand's so before you put B/S just read and try and put you brain in gear before you post.

FYI, I could sell my condo for twice the price I paid for it, within a month.

If I wanted the so called market value for it, think it would still be for sale three years latter like all the others around town, Price and Location are big factors when talking about condos or houses for sale or to buy.

Not all people are losers on this subject.

But I’m happy with what I bought, it’s my home and I still love it. Not for sale.

Most people who talk like yourself on forums are just angry at the mistakes they have already made.

    Good luck to youcoffee1.gif

  8. I have a driver I have used for the past couple years who I find very reliable, safe, and personable. He drives a Bangkok metered taxi but lives in and appears to be based in pattaya...maybe just specializes in airport runs. I trust him with my all important international flights and often have had him pick me up at two or three in the mornings with no slip ups. He is a middle aged fellow and a safe driver and friendly fellow who I am more than happy to recommend. He also is more than happy to do airport pickups as well. His rates are around 1200 to swampy and 1500 to don muang (he pays tolls).

May well give him a go, for an airport pick up.

    Thanks.

  10. Hi Guys

I need a new Taxi driver to take and collect me from the airport on a regular basis

The guy I have used for the last few years is starting to sub out my business again. (more fool him) the last few times I got people nearly falling asleep at the wheel, bad cars (old bangers hardly working) also mad drivers . had to ask several time to slow down

All this is not what I want.

I need a guy who is 100% reliable. Does the job himself, can read and understand Text messages in English ( flight no, date , time). Reading Email would be great but not essential also a good car.

Anyone have a recommendation from your own regular experiences

    Thanks.

  11. Not seen the pillow thing myself

But could be a cheap way to provide some form of comfort to guests in the condo they rent for the drinking bouts they have in their rooms with family and friends, as they seldom drink in the bars.

Drinking with friends and family would be normal behavior in the condos in their home town.

    Only a guess by me.

They are rude people most of the time.

  12. Quick report back

    Used the Irish aircon guy.

He did a great job, the fault was just a bad location of the compressor unit.

He’s guys moved the unit off the wall to ground level, problem solved.

His guys come on time, they did the job quickly and made a neat and tidy job.

Also did it for 500 baht less than quoted.

I would recommend his services to you all. smile.png Well pleased.

  13. This kind of article makes my blood boil.

O.K i'll have a drink of milk, deep breath and say Pattaya should be sent out to sea and sunk!

It does nothing but besmirch the great ancient nation of Siam and it's peoples at home or abroad to have the Achilles heal that is Pattaya associated with this great country.

    Pattaya is an ok place.
