  1. I could think or one or two member states that would be "happy" to take over your share. I do not think that Brussels is too worried about the British contributions. Mainly Germany and France will simply step in. What else could we do?

I am not worried. The EU has failed the European people and it will be forced to make massive changes or call it a day and END.

People of Germany are sick and Tired of Merkels incompetent handling of the Muslim invaders.

Austria have Far Right wing political party that are winning, Same in France Marine le pen is gaining ground.

Brussels controlling political power by total control of the media is going to fail. because the Truth will get out.

EU is a dictatorship. EU puts European people last and uses and abuses them.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's puts Merkel right. This guy should be running the EU

So you want to go back to prewar times? Count me out....

I wasn't around at that time, but they seem pretty good times to me...kids playing outside, not on computer games...a nice clip round the ear by a bobby...get a rap on the knuckles by teacher if you are naughty...great times, look at us now, after 40 wasted years in the eu.

By prewar I mean 80 years ago. Since the war, Europeans have tried to bond to avoid wars and increase prosperity

This has been a successful strategy

Do please read up on this otherwise I can not debate the real issues with you

Remember it was Thatcher who stated there was no such thing as society and our social structure has been fractured since then. Nothing to do with Europe

In fact several European countries have the sort of cosy social cohesion that we all crave smile.png

    ????????????????????????????????????????

Its only a succesful strategy thought up by the in brigade...'debate the real issues?' Tell you what, YOU vote IN, and I Will vote OUT...OK, Debate over....June 23, we shall see.

  2. I've got to the stage where I don't care what the UK does as long as my private pension company keeps on paying me.

The UK will be forced to stay in the EU as Brussels has now where else to scrounge the money from.

I personally believe the only way out is when people take to the streets and start fighting. Note sure the British youth is up to that.

I wish Brussels would say "cheers, been nice knowing you, we didn't really need your 350,000,000 pounds a WEEK anyway!" That would be nice.
  4. Since Merkel is about to hand the Turks the keys, the sooner Britain pulls out the better.

I understand what you mean. But just as a reminder: at the time, Germany (supported by our French brother and sisters) were strictly against Turkey becoming an EU-applicant while the British supported the Turkish wish to join. So, first you force them onto us and then you leave. Great! (don't take this too serious :-) )

I thought it was a Schengen agreement for visa free travel for Turks to Schengen countries, not 100% sure on that though...that would mean they cannot go to the UK anyway, because they are not a Schengen country
  5. I think he's underselling it. I work in London and the number of Romanians working and living here now is huge, by the end of this year the Romanian population of UK will be 4-5 x bigger than the government predicted back when they opened the gates. The same will happen when the next batch of countries join the EU, but on an even larger scale as the new countries joining are even poorer. If we don't leave the EU we are finished as a country well and truly.

And which countries will that be?

Currently, there are NO countries that would have the slightest chance to join (except for Iceland, Switzerland and Norway, and these have no intention to do so right now). And those countries with the applicant-status have years and years ahead of them and I do not see any of them doing their homework properly. So, no new members in the foreseeable future.

Have you forgotten Turkey and its 75,000,000 population or even forgotten that Turkish is now (even before they join this year) an official EU language?

I only just read today, it was on Facebook mind you, that Cameron has agreed in principal to sign up for Albania to join. They even make Romania seem prosperous....
  6. I do not see this as the US or Obama telling the UK what to do one way or the other. Simply passing on information that a trade deal with the U.K. will not be a priority. What the UK and its citizens do with this information is up to them.

Ok then, role reversal time....how would americans like it if we told you/they it would be in your best interests to give your country over to the Canadians, and that they will make 60% of american law, and tell you what you can and cannot do. And you will have no control of your own borders. Would you vote for that? No way would you/they.

Before you start saying we voted for this in 1975, we didn't. We voted to join the EEC, (European Economic Community), which in turn changed into this monster. Ruled by the biggest crooks on the planet. No thanks.

I am neither proponent of the U.K. remaining in the EU, nor exiting the EU. I was simply rebutting the statement that Obama is telling the UK what to do. I do not believe he is. Obama is simply stating that the US will not make a trade deal with the U.K. a priority. What UK citizens choose to do with this information is their choice.
he made the threat of "get to the back of the queue" reffering to a trade agreement. Today i read that he wants us to back him up in a possible war with Russia...we should say "sorry Barry mate, OFF, GET TO THE BACK OF THE QUEUE" what goes around comes around.

    not really.

This is what happens. The American's say 'jump!'.

    You answer 'how high?'

All in the expecation that they'll throw you a bone when it comes to trade talks.

Welcome to the world of not being in the EU....

It is called Realpolitik.....and it only gets prettier from here.

    ????????????????????????????????????????

We have another joker in the pack...if it wasn't for the British, you would still be using bows and arrows...read your own history mate, WE made you the way you are. Look at all your town names down the east side, they are all english town names, you are all descendants of the British, you ARE British...55555

  7. IMHO, everything Obama touches turns brown and mushy.

Nobel Peace Prize awarded On basis of pigmentation.

    The Syrian "Red Line".

    Obvious race card player.

Obama, Clinton, and Kerry keep shoving their arrogant noses in other countries business. No one really respects or takes seriously anything that goes in to or comes out of their mouths.

Yes in contrast to British foreign policy ?.....ha ha. What exactly has the "empire" accomplished since losing it all ? Is Tony Blair being your Middle East envoy for peace the best you have to show ?

Here is the sad fact you will not want to admit. Your government needs the EU markets to keep the economy growing...there is no way out once in. You will hem and haw and demand certain concessions from Brussels but in the end ...NOTHING will change. Face it...because it's coming. Britain is too small to survive on its own as an economic entity in a globalized world. Sorry...that is the fact of the matter. Now enjoy your tea and the taxes you pay to a bunch of curmudgeonly old families who laugh at you as you struggle to make ends meet. House of Lords....what a joke.

Britain too small? You are the joke mate. We are bigger than Switzerland, and they do very well. Too small? We have the 6th largest economy in the world...too small? We give 350 million pounds a WEEK to the EU, and what we get back, they tell us how to spend it. Too small? I think you have mistaken us for a different country mate. We have done it before, and can do it again...too small? very funny, you were joking right? 555

Obama and the US had nothing to do with you giving the power to the EU. YOU decided to do that. You now want a 'divorce' so to speak and there are consequences with that divorce. That's all. It means those deals with the EU that include Britain will likely have to be renegotiated.

Like any divorce, you will lose some things and you will gain some things. Obama is pointing out one of the things you may lose.

It is an internal matter with external consequences.

.....I would suggest that the British be very careful in accusing Obama of meddling in another countries affairs.

the people didn't give our powers away...our moronic, money grabbing government did that...we, the people only voted for the economic treaty EEC, NOT the EU...Get your facts right.

You say Britain must be very careful over YOUR President??? Why? What you gonna do? Invade us? hahaha, you didnt even defeat a third world country, why the threats?

  10. The U.S dictating to others, don't they realise how much thier attitude is resented by the world.

I think we do realize that...but frankly....who cares?

Really...Who cares what people think about us? Do you care what Thai's think about you? A government is not a "person"...but rather is something abstract. It's not a plotting, scheming demon.... Think of a government as a necessary evil, and do not perceive that it represents the will of the people. To say "they" is to say "all the people". There are good and bad people...but government goes outside that circle...and creates legislation and policies that are sometimes unpopular.

Why do you people think it is so important that everybody in the world has to love you? Shouldn't you just go on with your life, and do what makes you happy. Nobody in the USA gives a flying hoot about you either.

    stop being small minded.

We don't need you to love us, we just want you to mind your business, we do not need your opinions, it is our vote only. Nothing you or Obama can say will change how we vote. So jog on mate, your country ain't all that anyway.

  11. "Back of the queue"?

He was at the back of the queue when they were dishing out brains...<expletive> moron.

It does not exactly require rocket science for presenting the case as Obama did, but he simply skewered the Brexit case and handed their 'alternative' Atlantic head back to them on a platter. He has effectively scuppered the Brexit team as they now have no alternative strategy at all apart from a purely negative one and it is that which is driving our very own Brexiteers round the bend. I watched the whole thing live and even the aspirant hostile questions were easily swatted away.

We shall see on July 23 eh? The surveys dont mean a lot, but most are giving Brexit the edge. We are Brits, we can see through bullsh@t when its clearly bullsh@t....

  13. The US President isn't sticking his nose into the politics of the UK. He is expressing an opinion on a economic union that has an impact on the US. There is a difference for backing a candidate and an expression on a policy. It's a big difference. Countries do that all the time. Countries often express their opinion on the death penalty in the US and they act on that by not allowing extradition if the death penalty is on the table. That's just one example, by the way.

I dont know what you have been reading, but Obama is sticking his nose in British politics. He has also been making threats about trade agreements if we leave...where are you from? Are you american? This is a referendum for the BRITISH PEOPLE, not americans..We dont need an american to tell us how to vote, WE decide, NOT Obama.

Most Brits don't give a toss what he has to say, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage has proved that.

The strangest thing about your post is that you forget all the intrusions into the American constitutional right (to bear arms)...... many non usa members have stuck their noses into that......

Its an open forum here. Feel free to receive our opinions on how your government should be run...just as some (from your country) voice their opinions on our constitutional rights.

    karma.....

I was saying its naff all to do with Obama, we are not gonna be swayed by his moronic ramblings...absolutely NOTHING to do with him. We, the British people will decide for ourselves...IN or OUT, It will be our decision, not yours, you can give opinions until the cows come home, but they completely worthless to Brits. You should sort your own country out before you start telling us what we should do. I think you should all have as many guns as you want anyway, and vote for Donald Trump, we need a good laugh when he is Prez.

  15. Both mastercard and visa have emergency cash advance facilities.

    what do you mean?
Basically, I think what he means is, don't be daft enough to leave the phone number of your bank in your wallet that will be stolen, with all your money and your Visa or Mastercard inside it.

Am i right Mr Blackjack? Or maybe he should stay home, he's not quite ready for the likes of Pattaya yet.

  16. I had severe sciatica down both legs, tried everything, exercise, xrays, that stretching machine thing, pills.....then i went and had acupuncture with electric pulses, and suction cups and its great. I had 4 sessions, it was fine, then it came back slowly, so i went again for 5 or 6 sessions, haven't been back since. Its not expensive here, between 500-700 baht a time. I wish i had done it years ago.

Bilateral sciatica, represents a potential neuro-surgical emergency and urgent specialist advice should be sought.

The advice to seek a "cure" for such a condition via acupuncture is potentially dangerous

Ok sorry, but it worked for me...so diclofenac is ok then? As in posts 3 and 4, hmm

Posts three and four make no mention of Bilateral Sciatica.

I don't suffer from it anymore, it worked for me...because the acupuncture cured it, i think i will stick with a thousand year old Chinese quack treatment if you don't mind....thanks for the concern all the same.
