Take No risk with a Crim with a knife Shoot him Down .
The cops didn't know if he was on drugs or not ,If he keeps coming Kill him.
He won't be able to do that again.
Why do Thai police always have to shoot people with knives? Are they not taught how to disarm a person armed with a knife like the unarmed British Police do? They wear stab-vests don't they? A tazer would have stopped the guy. In my view this death is totally unnecessary!

3000 years ago is probably not prehistoric as generally human prehistory is usually recognised as the period between the first use of stone tools and the invention of writing! But then again I am not sure when Siam first used a writing system!

A couple of years ago when I renewed my driving licence, I went to immigration for letter of residence. I was asked for 300 baht. I protested, saying that according to website, it was free. Immigration Officer stated that the website was correct and the letter was in fact free, but that there was a 300 baht admin fee! I paid and watched money go straight in drawer, no receipt issued ????????

Some friends of mine are teachers in government secondary schools. They now teach students in 2 groups. Group 1 Monday to Wednesday, Group 2 Thursday to Saturday. Consequently, they now work 6 days a week, not 5 as before, and only have one day off per week. They also have to do all the cleaning and sanitising of the classrooms themselves! For an increase in teaching hours of 20% plus cleaning duties, they receive no extra pay! I can't see the teachers unions in UK standing for that!

As my mother would say, "Fine words butter no parsnips". Support for the poor is required, not sympathy!! Come and live in the real world Prayut!

The world was outraged when terrorist Isis forces destroyed some ancient Babylonian historical buildings to "erase" history. Symbolic destruction of buildings, statues, names, cannot erase the past nor should it! All of the above should serve as reminders of our outrageous colonial past in order that we can learn from our mistakes. If we started removing statues of "notorious" figures in UK, there would be few left! Statues or buildings named after Queen Victoria, David Livingstone etc. would be the first to go as they were very much in favour of the colonialist British Empire of the 18th century. All Lives Matter, regardless of colour, creed, sexual orientation, ability or gender. We can only learn from our mistakes through history and constant reminders. We cannot change history, but we can change the present and the future.

It's a bit late for this year. Most Isaan farmers have already sown or planted rice!

Temples have been strictly adhering to the council’s order
Do those who make these statements ever venture out of Bangkok? I travel past 4 temples in villages on my way to our land every morning and see monks doing the rounds without masks, attending funerals etc, without social distancing, also see villagers flocking to temples on Buddha days, so the above statement probably only applies to city temples!

And how can students keep their "social distance" in dormitory areas? My daughter will be sharing a room with 3 other students as she did last academic year!

More documentaries would be good for educating the Thai populace about Thailand and the rest of the world! Wildlife programmes always go down well as do factual historical discoveries. How about University Challenge, when the top brains in the country compete against each other on specific subjects and general knowledge, or Mastermind! Who am I kidding, when there are hundreds of badly acted soaps with stereotypical gays and blurred out weapons to enthrall the nation. Sad isn't it. ????

What a wonderful example to his followers! An abbot, is the top man at the temple but considers it ok to have a secret sexual relationship with a woman for 2 years, make her pregnant, and then snuff her out in a fit of jealous rage. I wonder how all the folk who have been contributing to his upkeep and debauched lifestyle, through alms giving over the years feel about this pillar of the community now!

Out here in rural Thailand, I travel through several villages on my way to our land. Between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. the sides of the roads are thronged with the faithful giving food to monks from 3 different temples. It does seem to be primarily sticky rice, which is what the villagers are existing on anyway, but nevertheless, I have seen no decline in giving or receiving alms. If anything more people seem to be giving than before the Covid-19 crisis!

This report comes up with an interesting fact which is so very Thai!
"Thai law essentially forbids the export of arms for purposes other than national security and the promotion of peace. Yet in 2016 Thailand ranked as a major exporter of small arms largely due to an ammunition export valued at USD 14 million."
So, although the export of arms is illegal, it is declared as being responsible for keeping Thailand afloat! ????

And what about the wards, where the distance between beds is only about 18" if you are lucky! They would have to have about one third less beds per ward if social distance is to be observed. Somehow, I don't think that will be possible.

Good idea! Especially as the cricket season is in full swing in UK now. Maybe this will make up for the loss of revenue due to no spectators ????
