Why do all the ideas emanating from Government ignore the fact that there are conurbations in many other parts of Thailand further away from Bangkok that could do with some investment, namely the NE & N of the country!

Good on them! More power to their elbow I say! About time Thai "democracy" and "freedom of speech" was questioned again ????

As this is operable from today, does that mean that only those who had the incredible gift of prediction and downloaded the app 14 days ago can enter Chang Mai by air?

or make do with umbrellas
What a stupid comment! The purpose of umbrellas is to protect the owner from rain! That is what they are designed to do and essential during wet weather. I have seen people "make do" with a plastic bag, or an attache case or some other bag to shield them from the weather. "Make do" means to manage with the limited or inadequate means available!

This is great news indeed! Wildlife is so important and necessary in this fractured world. Going back to nature by closing the parks for at least 3 months a year, say from March to June will allow the natural flora and fauna of the parks, both on land and at sea to rejuvenate and increase. I just hope that this opportunity is not lost in the pursuit of money!

Why do they leave everything to the last minute! Surely they should have a 5 year plan already drawn up. How difficult is it? There is a rainy season nearly every year, followed by a dry season. There should be plans drawn up and contingencies for large amounts or small amounts of rain, long dry (drought) conditions, or short periods of dryness! They should know exactly how much rain is needed and in which areas. Weather can be unpredictable we all know that so have plans drawn up for every eventuality. What are taxpayers paying the Department of Irrigation for!!!!

Has Thailand even reported TOTAL new cases of 60+ nationwide in the past two weeks?
There were 53 reported on 25th April preceded by 15 the previous day and 15 the day after ????

Does this mean that if the victim was unpopular, and not bad for the image of Thailand, they would not bother to investigate?!!

Thitiya’s supervisors tipped her off about what was coming well before Covid-19 arrived in Thailand. “I was given papers about the new coronavirus last December, when cases had just been detected in China’s Wuhan,” she said.
Her lab began making preparations to ensure it could detect the new virus if there was an outbreak in Thailand.
This is the difference between Thailand and the US. They took the virus seriously from the start and did not regard it as a hoax unlike the moron know-it-all President who tries to run the USA! Instead of blaming the Chinese for not disclosing the information, he should look at his own inability to take action and prepare for the forthcoming virus!

Three medical workers have also sacrificed their lives working long hours in the battle against Covid-19, though their deaths are not included in official pandemic statistics.
Why not? I guess they must have died through "working long hours" and not Covid-19. My condolences to their families.

As I understood it, under the current state of emergency, gatherings of more than five people are not allowed! Unless they are using mirrors, there appears to be more than 5 people gathered in the picture above. ????

Aha, now at last we have the figure for the number of tests carried out to date.
26 minutes ago, webfact said:The government aims to reach a total of 400,000 tests from the current level of around 230,000, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman for the government's Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
"This is about 6,000 tests for every million individual ... and considered a moderate amount globally," Taweesin said.
230,000 in 107 days since 21st January! Low number of tests = low number of positives = low number of cases. Maybe???????

But not all provinces!!! That is the point! Each of the 76 Provinces in Thailand have their own set of rules and guidelines! It would seem that the ridiculous Thai Government has divested itself of all responsibility and allowed the tin pot Governors in each province to make it up as they go along! As far as I can see, there is no central database where people can go to check out the rules of each governor. Someone in Government needs to take control!!!

Also, the tin man is doing everything that we have been told not to do! Never touch your mask or your face when it is in place, remove it using the ear straps. Always wear your mask correctly, over your nose and mouth! But, but, but I am the PM and rules don't apply to me, I am immune from the State of Emergency because I called it!

Its because it was a holiday yesterday! I still cannot understand how the 40 out of 78 in the deep south who tested positive, twice, yesterday, can now just disappear from the stats!

I thought that all shops had to enforce "social distancing" or they would be closed down! These people pushing and jostling for position are just animals! No distancing, no manners, no thought for others! Sometimes I despair of the human race ????

This is the main problem with testing. If you test people, some may test positive! If you don't test, no-one is positive. Therefore, if you want no positives for Covid-19, don't test. Simple ????

OK, so the mob took to the streets of Phuket and won a small victory. But what would happen if a larger number took to the streets of Bangkok in protest about the Government handouts? hmmmmmm???????

I find it sad that a previous thread announcing the lifting of the alcohol ban attracted 13 pages of comments, however, really important news about the ozone layer and the rejuvenating of nature in National Parks barely mustered a handful of comments! I choose not to drink alcohol, but I am appalled by the number of people on this forum who see it as the only reason to live! Alcohol does not make the world go round! (unless you drink too much of course).

Isn't The Philippines part of the ASEAN community? If so they should be looked after through that means surely. What is the point of being part of a community if you are not catered for outside your own country.
