  1. Never had a problem with the immigration team here in Kanchanaburi, always professional, polite and willing to help!

Unfortunately can't say the same about other offices around the country!

    Mae Sai,

Also very polite and very helpful

    Mae Sai

they can be right horrble people!!! They questioned all my related adddresses in Thailand once and made me wait for one hour nearly, either they were looking for someone fitting my description or hes was in a bad mood!!!

    Nevermind...LOS...only Tuesdays maybe !!! :o

  2. Firefox are bugging me now!!! :o Why they have not thoughfully produced good security is beyond me....

I like their software but they are also having problems with Win32.Theef.M remaining in their cache... I would advise anyone to check and remove it manually from Documents and Settings....if their software does not remove it...

    :D

  3. Just wondering, and is probably a stupid idea but....

considering that the relevant embassy most probably have the means to read them from a disc, would it be acceptable for e-mails to be submited on disc?

Would save a great deal of time and money for all concerned.

Thanks Clive I will do the same. :D My International phone card number does not show on my Landline bill as it is Freephone? So the cards will have tobe enough! :o

khunlungphudhu, I thought that about photos as well, maybe it will be good to just burn stuff on CDs as well? Who knows.

Thanks for your replies. Lop :D

  6. Hiya All  :D

I would like to know about the contact info needed ie. emails etc.

I have alot of emails to print out, do I need to print them all or say one from every week? I will need a truckload of printer ink to print them all!  I have printed the screen which shows the list of emails received..

Also I use pre paid international phone cards which do not show up on my telephone bill.  The company says they are not obliged to give me a copy unless I contact the police or a solicitor to request a copy of my calls made from the cards.  Will the cards themselves I have kept be enough evidence?

    Thanks all  :D

My Wife in Thailand uses Pre Paid cards when she phones me in UK.

Advised to submit cards even though they cannot prove who was phoned!!

I use low cost and have copied from Net the relevant numbers phoned ready for her Visa Interview + monthly updates of Salary etc

    E-Mail:

I have printed a few + Index of all (Over 900& counting)

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Ivan

    :D

    Cheers Ivan

Yeah the emails sure build up!!! :o I think it is time for some new ink catridges!

The cards I use have the number (free phone) on the card themselves, so I will submit the pile!!!

    Thanks again for you reply.

Could you please explain your question????????

It relates to a UK settlement visa (sorry missed that out) ? The Embassy needs all contact information, I think it is quite self explanatory in my opinion...

  10. I want to send a music file to a fellow TV member so he can hear about a Thai band i was talking about. How can i do it easily?

Get an email address from them, and send it to them as an attachment with an email.

Bear in mind the size - it will take several mins (don't try it with anything over 10MB).

But - rumour has it - this facility could be offered to members soon by Thaivisa - there is a big announcement on its way.

The file will take ages to upload etc by email. Both of you get a hotmail address and download the newest version of MSN Messenger

    http://imagine-msn.com/Messenger/Default2.aspx

You can then talk, webcam and send all files through that, easy and quicker.

    Enjoy :D

...and at the same time open up a huge hole in your security :D

    Your right Thomas :D

Lol, valid point however you should have good IM protection!!! I just presume people to know that, sorry! :D

Either way its a good way of transferring, if you are well protected and dont just accept anything! :o

  12. hi'

    my 2cts here ...

you talk about getting music from a cd, is it an mp3 music-cd ? or a regular music cd?

if it's an mp3 check that there are out of anyfolder before to write on mp3 player, and if it comes from a cd you have to rip the cd to hdd first and then convert the cd tracks(cda) to mp3 before to write anything anywhere :o

you'll need some program to do the rip, as just copy them doen't work.

you can do it through wmp. file/cd audio devices/rip cd audio.

    francois

ps; if it doesn't work, bring back the player to the shop for replacement.

    Hey Francois

I think you maybe right, they have not ripped the C.D...oops!!! That may explain the skipping through tracks. However it would not import only the name of the track rather than the full song as it would not have been loaded on to WMP etc...unless they are trying to import it from the songs played screen????

Either way its one of those could be anything posts..

    :D

  13. Hiya

Samet is very beautiful, I tend to stay further to the south of the Island and enjoy the quiet more tranquil beaches. To the north it tends to be very busy and in my opinion over the years has got a little dirty.

However a 15 min drive and your on some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, such as Ao Wai...

    http://www.travel.reperages-thailand.com/e...o_samet_en.html

When i was there not long ago they told me the very south of the island is now becoming private and caters for the higher market...would be a shame to lose it to toffs.

    Enjoy your trip :o

  14. Hello forum, firstly before I write this thread I must confess that my computer knowledge is pretty primative, so take it easy on me if I say something that sounds absolutley ridiculous to all you boffins out there.

Today I brought a mp3 player for the littlen, thinking I can download music no probs. Since I have changed my attitude, and I am ready to throw it straight away after 3 hours of trying to get some sort of sound from the thing! Ok, I have downloaded the installation disc no probs. Then I ran a CD through windows media (I have XP sp2 by the way) and tryed to save it to removable disk f, which is the mp3 player. So I think it is going dandy when it comes up on the mp3 display as "write" But everytime I try to listen to it back on the mp3 it skips secounds and I cannot hear a blasted thing! I then got thinking maybe i havent got a good enough version of "windows media player" so click on updates, and I cant update because I have a copied windows xp. Is there a easier way to achieve this or will I have to a:get a copy of windows xp b:take my computer back to the shop for them to sort xp out, or c:am I barking up the wrong tree altogether! Any help would be much appreciative.

Well we are on the subject of computers, my avatar. I managed to crop it today after alot of heart ache with a friend. But how do I make it move?????????

    Thanx

    Bangbuathongben

If you could be a bit more specific (as in giving us the type of MP3 player you are using), if may be easier to help you...... :o

    hiya

It sounds more like like a music file fault if it is jumping, check the music in your windows media player or MP3 player, if its working there your files MP3 files are ok....however maybe your portable MP3 player is having import problems...cannot say for sure...

on that line check this MP3 out its well cheap and nice...got one a few month ago, beats IPOD by miles....enjoy

  15. So...I'd like to buy a few non-pirated games in Chiang Mai, such as Unreal Tournament 2004, Doom 3, and Half Life 2. In Chiang Mai, I've been to CM Computer, Pantip Chiang Mai, and Computer Plaza...and every shop just has copies! Most have the boxes for these games, but they are opened and I'm sure the all important serial number (for online play) has been abused. The copies cost almost as much as the real ones because they are multiple CDs, and I could download them myself for that matter. Does anyone know of a game shop specializing in selling legal games here in Chiang Mai?

    Try Airport plaza?

I am sure they will have some or GasunGow (wrong spelling) plaza....

    :o

  16. Just been doing a bit of searching and came up with this:

    Suparsit

    FAQ's

Let us know if it works!  :D

    Cheers, BaanOz.

    Thanks :o

Well it is a translation site, so you have to enter text >then it translates>copy and paste it from there into your email.

It sent ok and was readable upon reciept. So not to bad, just have to see what it really says after it is translated!!!

    Enjoy :D

I am sorry but anyone using AVG should just google search for AVG problems and it really is unbelievable the results!

Anyways I would check your Registry get a copy of Hijack This

    http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html

    Thanks all

  21. I've tried ZA (WinXP) and it wasn't perfect for me, I think there were software conflicts that crashed some programs. It also often crashed my Win98 machine.

Since then I've tried most of the firewalls mentioned here and currently use Sygate on WinXP and Kerio on Win98, though I think that WinXP built in firewall (service pack2) is good enough already.

The one that I clearly hate is from TrendMicro - I couldn't even find the controls.

As far as slowing down the computer - it's how much resources the program uses - the more services it provides, the more resources it needs. ZA, I remember, with all the bells and whistles, was a little monster. Very often firewall, antivirus, and antispyware duplicate many tasks and finetuning all three of them can be time consuming.

Fine tuning was water off a ducks back, i run alot of programs and have no conflictions at all. ZA suite is cool as...in MY opinion.. :o
