Rare Endangered Moonrat Found in Yala, Soon to Return Home
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
Looks like an American possum without the prehensile tail. Hopefully it returns close to where it was found. They are apparently ground cleaners of insects. -

Thai E-Cigarette Debate Sparks Health Experts' Outrage
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If they ban vapes, then they should ban cigarettes. But of course we know that the cigarette manufacturers have big pockets and connections, so they won’t be stopped. Vapes are now the cheaper alternatives to cigarettes and the tobacco companies don’t want them around, unless they get into the game. I bet some already are. Time will tell. -

Prostate surgery user reviews .... turp? rezum? other ?
jcmj replied to rumak's topic in Health and Medicine
I had the Rezum last year in October. I had been struggling with UTI’s and unable to urinate at times. Was put on meds and that helped a little bit but would end up running in and out of bathroom all day and night. Sometimes I couldn’t even make it. As soon as I went to take a piss and sit back in my chair I had to go again. I ended up keeping a little jug next to my bed. Anyway it got so bad that I went and spoke with my doctor again and said that the meds weren’t helping and he did all the tests and asked me if I wanted to consider Rezum. He gave me the info and told me the pros and possible cons and how it all worked and would happen. I read the info, did my research on my doctor who would preform it and decided to go for it. It’s done rather quickly and you’re asleep so you don’t feel anything. I did have to have a catheter in for about 7 days. I think that varies from patient to patient but it was a success. The only side effect that I have is not being able to “squirt” after sex. Lucky I’m older and don’t plan on having any more kids anyway but I do get the sensation it’s just not visible. The doctor tried everything and this was the last option, but for me it’s so much better. No more running to the bathroom all day and night and I haven’t had an infection or been slopped up since. You just have to think about the quality of life you have and do what’s best for you. There are no promises with any surgery. Everyone reacts differently, but for me it was 100% worth it. Good luck. -
Thailand faces worsening air quality crisis, health warnings issued
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just asked Siri what was the air quality. She said “I am sorry the air quality level is not available in your area. “ 🤣😂 They can’t even lower it with their new calculations. Same every year and nothing but talk about how to fix it. -
Better to just cement and stamp it with a pattern. Easier to walk on, no weeds and easy to keep clean, plus it looks better. I tried a few areas with stones and they just got very dirty and in little piles and dips. Easy to trip over. I’d stick with the grass or go stamped concrete. Good luck

I have been named as a beneficiary in my friends will.
jcmj replied to tucker4444's topic in General Topics
Unfortunately the probate can last for a long time. 2 years for a friend of mine who had a Will done in Thailand. It’s not something that is done very fast here with or without a lawyer. So you will need to wait and see. I suppose you may be able to do a Thai Will, if not already done, for all of your assets to go to your wife. This may help, but this is Thailand and as you know nothing ever goes as planned. Especially if he had a wife or children. -
Woman Rescued After Rings Stuck on Swollen Fingers in Pattaya
jcmj replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
They were probably the only thing she had that she loved and didn’t want to take them off. Plus I imagine with her situation and mental instability she just couldn’t deal with it properly. Glad she was helped even though she fought it. Hopefully they find a way to give back her rings so she doesn’t lose them. -
Experts push for diverse HIV prevention options in Thailand
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They need to educate the kids, well and adults. They are so scared to speak about sex it only hurts them. I taught my son about sex because I knew I didn’t want him to have any issues and the school didn’t teach him about it. Even 5 finger Betty. The safest way to go. I certainly don’t want any grandchildren anytime soon. He’s been good and even told me he always uses a condom. Hope so, but at least he knows. Parents must educate their children here. Just can’t count on the system here. -
Repeat Thai offender admits to murder, sexual assault of homeless victim

200 years for fraud and theft, but only a couple years for murder. The system here is definitely flawed. This man should have never been let out. RIP to the deceased. -
Thief poses as courier, steals Rolex watches worth 615,000 baht

If it sounds too good to be true then be very careful. Sending watches worth 650,000 baht with a courier??? I would have definitely met in person and not let go until the money was transferred. -
Pattaya Police Launch Manhunt for Gold Ring Snatcher
jcmj replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
They need doors to enter these places. At least they would have a chance at locking it quickly, but no chance with roller doors and hardly any space between the gold and the exit. -
Thailand Immigration Arrests Fugitive Chinese National

Well If the dates are correct then I guess they were waiting till he spent most of his money until they decided to catch him. 20+ years is not exactly what you call vigilante. -
global leader in environmental stewardship 🤣😂 Not even close! They could feed the homeless or send it to the less fortunate people, open up a cheap store to sell quickly before it’s completely bad. Feed for animals so many options but they won’t do it . Too much effort. Maybe a good time for dumpster diving. They should be fined according to the amount of waste, but that requires someone to check daily. I don’t see much changing, but good luck.

Alarming Formaldehyde Levels Found in E-Cigarette Liquids
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Parents, make sure that your children aren’t vaping if they are under 18. Shops, Don’t sell to kids under 18. Why can’t they just educate the kids about the harms of smoking and enforce/ fine those shops and parents that let their children smoke/vape. Sure some kids will do it. It’s always been that way, but it’s insane to me that they won’t do anything about cigarettes, just vapes. I know we are asking a lot from the government and police. If only laws were enforced here. -
So try to control the owners of the dogs, but leave the soi dogs roaming around. Makes no sense. Sure owners should have their dogs collared and be responsible for any harm done by them, but the stray dogs get to run around barking, biting and chasing cars and motorbikes. They tried to do the spay and neuter here, but didn’t get all of the dogs and now we have 14 roaming our sou with 3-4 new puppies. They are aggressive and kill neighbors cats and try to attack my dog when I’m walking him. I have to carry a stick and if they get in his face with teeth showing they will get a swift stick to the head. No safety concerns whatsoever for the residents and their pets.

Consumer injured by glass in spaghetti at Thai pizza chain
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I bit into glass in a piece of tiramisu at a local restaurant. They apologized profusely and didn’t charge for the meal. It happens and the cooks had no idea. It was an accident, but I don’t order the dessert there anymore. And no this was not a cheap chain. It can happen in any restaurant unnoticed by the staff. -
