  1. Spot on. Shows how powerful are the elites in evading justice
  2. Article suggests Thais not foreigners to be affected.
  3. It’s worse for Brits whose state pension is frozen,ie no triple lock increases despite having paid in for 30+ years. Difficult to live on £40k per month but as the uk and other western nations collapse living frugally on that is infinitely preferable.
  4. I hope that one day you will be able to talk to the dragon teacher and enlighten her about quality education. A friend who once failed a student ,as he was a dullard ,failed to have his contract renewed at one of the northern universities.
  5. Sadly all too true. I’ve sent my 2 kids abroad for education. One at university studying a practical degree and a job offer. There are few meaningful jobs for her in northern Thailand.
  6. Let’s wait for The Royal Decree to be announced before jumping the gun.
  7. Sounds comparable to the US,were most folks are in debt and live from paycheck to paycheck each month.
  8. Pension would be upgraded, but you would need to be there for 6 months before availing yourself of NHs and other benefits. You would also need somewhere to live as housing wait lists are very, very long . You would have to be very desperate to return as the uk seems to be in the process of collapse. On return to Thailand pension would again be frozen unless you play/fiddle the system and maintain a uk address.UK are looking into some folks bank accounts and it is rumoured that Thai authorities to assist uk in tracking down delinquents. There is a world wide Campaign on frozen pensions but after 50 or so years it has been unsuccessful despite the totally unjust system. ‘Despite having paid in to the system for over 35 years mine has been frozen for over 10 years and battling inflation here. ‘The obvious messages to take in is never rely on the state to look after you in old age and be careful where you live in retirement. Philippines may be an option for you.
  9. I have 2 pools ;one under the wash basin too
  10. I wrote to The Trump Center for Climate crisis last year about this but not had a reply yet!
  11. Most Thais are thoroughly fed up with nominees setting up businesses for non Thais. The next step is to go after those who buy land for foreigners, although this would be an administrative nightmare for government bodies. If you don’t respect the law here, simply move. in
