  1. My question is on the proof of accommodation requirement when applying for a METV. As I currently have a 1 year rental contract on a condo in Thailand, is it going to be sufficient to use a copy of this? I realise it's not the same as a hotel or guest house booking which tourists usually have... so I'm wondering if this is likely to be an issue or if the rental contract should be acceptable for meeting this requirement? If the the rental contract is not likely to work and I need a hotel booking instead, how long does the booking need to be for?... I'm hoping not the full 60 days of the entry as it will be a pain to make refundable reservations on hotels for that length of time. (For example, it appears the main hotel booking websites don't allow single bookings longer than 28 days at a time, which means I would need to make multiple bookings and then join them together.)
  2. To add some more detail - yes, I'm on visa exempt and trying to get extra 30 days (based in Bangkok). The agent was supposed to get me an extension by now but has not followed through on it at all. They are being evasive and seem completely disorganised, for example keep forgetting about my case and asking for 'photos of my passport' every time and when I go there to ask about its status/whereabouts they don't give straight answers. Or complaining about how busy they are because the boss has disappeared. I'm at my wits end dealing with them because as mentioned in my original post, I'm now just about out of time before the expiry date and I'm stuck as for what to do next if I can't get hold of my passport?
  3. I'm in a stressful situation where my visa exemption expires in 2 days but my passport (UK) is with a visa agent and despite my pleading with them it is looking increasingly unlikely that they are going to return it in time for me to either make an extension or exit Thailand before the cut off. Please could I get some advice on what my options are from here? Any help and guidance will be very much appreciated.
  4. Please could someone confirm if it's true that as a UK national I should be fine to 2 border runs in a 12 month period (by land or air), obtaining a visa exemption upon entry each time? If so, please could you also let me know if it's ok to do these 2 border runs consecutively in a row / back to back? Thanks
  5. Since the recent changes to insurance requirements, has anyone had any luck extending their STV (particularly in Jomtien) with the lowered 10k USD coverage for Covid medical treatment? At Chaengwattana it seems they are still sticking with the 100k USD coverage requirement... Also could someone explain why the cover must be from a Thai company only? As I have worldwide medical cover from an insurance company based in the UK but it wasn't accepted at Thai immigration and I don't understand why this might be the case.
