  1. "I forgot to ask about the interim rules for anyone who has only just started sending their required income to their Thai bank - sorry!"

I got many months before my next renewal so no drama  .. but I am assuming as the new rules officially start March 1st .. that my importing the required sum each month starting this March fulfils the rules.

Previously income could be in home country. But Im from a fab 4 country.

I will have "only"  9 monthly imports. I believe some big boss .. maybe it was BJ said flexibility / lenience will be granted this first year but strict 12 months imports required in future.

But worrying a tiny bit I may get an IO on a bad day. I guess many will be in same position.

I know .. Im being an old woman "worrying" about it. ???????????????????????? But it got me thinking.

Getting the question answered useful me thinks. Other officers wont have same ruling but good to follow what the "bleep" is supposed to / may happen.

    Helpful OP.

This thread is very naughty. I am gonna go back to one of the squillion new - visa rule threads. Too rude for me here.

Then she made him happy. No harm, no crime. Just a bunch of religious bigots and a BIG POLICE STATE in US.

    Exactly.

There is more concern / legal restraints about what consenting adults agree to do behind closed doors .. harming no one .. than there is concern about combat type guns in USA.

You can buy a mass murder machine gun legally in some states but not tip legally a consenting partner for the night / hour.

Oooooops sorry  .. Being opinionated not good but America is not as Great as it thinks it is.

So you are just regurgitating what someone else posted here and presenting it as fact.

    Nice

I was refering to links or cut and pastes of agents sites statements ... that SPELT OUT that the new regs wont effect / be a problem regarding the corrupt way of renewing your visa.  The links are on this site. As stated tooooo many posts .. thousands to search through.

I.e Its what the AGENTS are saying. Not me.

You not reading my post before presenting it as regurgitating what someone else said. Its what the AGENTS are saying. Durrrrrrrr

    Nice.

  5. No link.

But others have posted links .. way tooooooo many threads for me to find the link(s). And there were discussions about it,  Research if you not believe me. I believe me ????????????????

An agent did a talk at an Expats meeting recently in Pattaya. Reports on here were he said new regs not a problem. The meeting was only 300 yards from my condo ... so maybe I should have gone but I read the reports.

    No it is not.

The is no rule/regulation or directive from the TIB waiving “seasoning for agent-applications.”

Seasoning is waived for agent applications. A well known fact. They themselves advertise this. They dont even bother to hide it.

Or am I missing the context of what you were saying.

Its called bribery / corruption. I think that was the point being made.

The same agents are advertising the new regs wont effect their business.

No it is not. On the TM.7 it is entitled:

APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM

Yep. Your right. My memory is it used to say retirement visa too but your right.. just looked very latest ones not say. Sorry ????  Well spotted.

All them Immigration Officers calling them Retirement Visas though .. and them signs and passport stamps and the 99.99999 % people saying retirement visa .. the dictionary meaning ... permission to stay is a visa. But hey ho.

Its like insisting there is no such thing as a baht bus. Correcting them that the official name is Songthow (or something) and correcting anyone who ever says baht bus.  If its called a baht bus by 99.99999 percent of people .. I tend to call them that toooo.

    Just saying.

I think you should say how you really feel about the place .. not hold back.  ????

Last time I checked it was not compulsory to visit Pattaya.  Dont like it .. dont go there.

We dont all move in your high end circles. Us people you dont want to meet or socialise with are really gutted.  PLEASE change you mind.

Off to the Opera tonight are you ? Or is it Bridge at the golf club. Jeez wish I had your class. I gonna have to make do with scantily dressed temptresses dancing whilst Im trying to concentrate on my beer. Its so boring here.

  10. Is this not good news, in small part, for those from "non grumpy 4"  embassy countries.

I reckon squillions of you who have income from home countries no longer need an embassy letter.

Did not some have to go to BKK personally ?  They now accept other proof.

But of course it has to come here. And be in inconvenient monthly blocks .... and a bank letter needed now.  And you can now not bring in cash in pocket from trips home that will count.

    Maybe not toooooo good.

Just might be a tiny bit good though .. for some .. maybe.

    Possibly.

Both my Apple Mac and IPad access Kasikorns website fine via Safari... The App seemed to only allow one device (preferably your phone which you must ink the phone number to at an ATM)...

    Thanks for info.

The problem is with Samsung's / Android "Chrome" default browser.  Amazing really as its so widely used.  Before I knew ... I once spent days trying to buy tickets for an event in Dubai. Many phone calls got me no where. Online purchase only.  On the 4th phone call the girl told me .. their system wont work with Android default browser.

  12. Its argueably now more adviseable to keep a close track of bank account(s).  Getting passbook updates not always convenient.

    For Info ...

Kasikorns Cyber (online banking) site does NOT seem to like Android default browser (Chrome). I have found many sites dont work with Chrome. Including some features on my English bank site.

But I still persevered struggling to get it to accept my new user name and password. After 2 hours and phone calls to Kbank I remembered. Durrrrrrrr ! tooo many beers over the years. ????

Had to download and use a different browser. I downloaded Firefox and it works a treat.

Errrrrrrr except Firefox has very annoying features. I.e Its possible to download your account history for offline use/printing. But when I try to do that .. Firefox asks for permission to access my photos and files. What the Ferk !!!!! WHY !!!!!!!!

I say NO .. and the download wont occur. I got rid of Firefox before because of this VERY annoying feature. So no printout possible with my set up .. so passbook only printed record.

I might have to dust off my crappy old Windows laptop to get a print out if I feel the need. The internet bank shows in lovely big bold letters in full International Transation Deposit. But IOs will know the codes in passbook very soon.

So dont struggle with Kbank with Chrome ... in my experience it wont work.

  13. "My TW transfers to Kasikorn only show as 05027 (International Transaction) when they use Kasikorn as their local banking partner (as shown on the TW receipt pdf). If they use BBL then it gets coded as 07416 (Stock Trading) or more recently 07206 (Receive Other Transfer)."

I have no idea but now I got all the codes meanings  .. I can see ALL my internet requested transfers over the past 2 or 3 years show very clearly they from my UK bank. Well to be acurate .. thats its an international transfer ... Probably also before that but old bank books destroyed.

Phew .. all good. I can stick with Kasikorn.

I always send in pounds not let Lloyds do the exchange .. They always give 2 auto warnings I will lose money and create a delay.  BS .. they want to make money on the exchange rate.  Banks suck.

It might be if sending in baht it not get TFN code ... pounds arriving down them wires to be exchanged gonna generate some different code. ????????????

  14. Wow. Ballpoint. Your a star.

    Many thanks

I will put PDF on my phone to flash under Immigration Officers nose if needed.

Im sorted .. providing rules not change again. The 4 countries citizens needing to show 65k or more income from abroad a big contrast to ALL the rest proving income that need not come anywhere near Thailand .......a HUGE difference in fact.

.... never been discrimated against before ????????????????

Kasikorn Bank uses TFN05027 - 05032 as its "International Transction" (sic) code:

    image.png.d869cb108848b507de45cea1c39a8c70.png

That list is exactly what Ive been searching for ... for many days.

Thanks for posting.  My account book's list and other posted lists not include all the international codes. Gonna print this and take to immigration when renewing. Sorted .. errrrrrr I think.

No idea why all the posts that you gotta move to Bangkok Bank and use TW. Spooked me.

Soon immigration will be experts on bank transaction codes but nice to have it printed out.

I suspect all the codes will show on internet banking which Ive just applied for today but this list good info.

I wont get 12 inward monthly payments in but they have been ordered to be lenient the first year and accept fewer imports.  I must print put BJs letter that says allowances be made. Previously I did 2 or 3 large transfers in a year.

What a performance. 800k route as a plan B hopefully not needed after first year if it all ok.

  16. Many years ago I opened an account with Kasikorn bank near/at the Avenue complex in Pattaya. The girl did the opening bit ... as she started a sales talk regarding me taking out accident insurance. It was cheap and she was quite charming not pushy. She was very dissapointed when I at first said no.

I asked if it was compulsory to buy if opening an account and she replied yes .. but with a cheeky smile.

I think I paid 5,000 baht for a years coverage .... in the end. I was just so pleased I had an account and taken another big step towards getting  a "visa" extension .. I didnt care.

Later I realised she had charmed a stupid old man with a pretty face and cute smile (her not me had the pretty face and cute smile????) and gained some commision. It was never compulsory ... it was a little perk for her.

In bars you get hit for lady drinks .... in banks sometimes its accident insurance it seems. But it was genuine insurance not coloured water ????.

After 1 year I was not asked or reminded to renew.  Health insurance obtained elsewhere.

  17. Not much to do with this story really but I will share this ..

Many years ago I was food shopping in my local supermarket.  In England. Nearing completion of my shop I was mentally ticking off my shopping list and realised that one item (cant remember what) was not in my supermarket basket ... but I was convinced I had picked it up. Thus I was confused.

Eventually I found it .. I had accidently put it in my personal bag. Completely freaked me out. If a store detective had seen me do it and I had not realised ... jeez ..

I imagined being detained in front of locals as I left .. court .. local newspaper .. criminal record.  Humiliation .. in eyes of neighbours and work colleagues. They always prosecuted shoplifters in them days.

Who would believe me .. "I accidently put in my bag and accidently not pay" your honour.

30 plus years later I still will never ever take my own shopping bag or even wear a coat into a shop however cold or wet the weather is. (Its left in car).

I am conscious of the menace of plastic bags but still cant buy and carry a reuseable bag for life. I still not want any bag as I shop.

Ok weird of me .. I admit.

  18. I think I have read so much of these threads that Ive possibly confused myself. Sorry.

Im in a hotel that has no English TV,  isolated out in sticks, no bars near, and wifi not good enough for things like U tube.  I think Im on ThiaVisa overload. ????????????????????????????????.

Those of us from the 4 countries whose embassys are not doing income letters have to proove 65k every month comimg in from abroad. (In many many cases bleeping impossible .....)

ALL others just have to proove 65k income in their own countries (that wont neccessarily come anywhere near Thailand) as before.

    Is that right ?

  19. "If Big Joke really wanted to get rid of agents and their under the table practices, then why not simply put a sign on each office that states........."NO AGENTS". Unless they are representing an individual who for medical reasons cannot make the visit to the offices"

I think that is a tad simplistic.  A while back I had a visa related question and as an agent had an office yards from my condo and which I passed umpteen times a day ..on a whim I went in.

His welcoming smile dropped when I requested to ask a question for free ????. Shock horror.  His answer was he did not know but I suspect he was not even listening and still in shock at the word 'free'.

But he went on to say that an Immigration Officer came by his office every lunch time .. he will be there soon he said ... to see if there was anyone needing their assistance.

He also said I dont understand your problem but he would sort a visa for 30k .. of which he got only 500. Im doing it as a favour for you. Yeah yeah. But that is beside the point.

My point is a notice banning agents or actually banning them from Immigration Office wont do much in my opinion.  It will save agents going to them and put some kilometres on IOs vehicles thats all.

But it would stop us having to see agents placing a dozen passports on the IOs desk.  They dont seem to feel the need for discretion.
