    Bangkok Bank work with the agents who 'abuse' the accounts! They take a nice cut of the agents fee. 🙄

    Yes, it was Air Asia, but it was booked through Booking.com. I got the full amount transferred to my bank account in a couple of months or so. I still have the return flight with them, but I'm not happy about it, and will not be booking with them again.

    It happened to me. I should have been arriving in Indonesia at 6pm, but the cancellation meant arriving after midnight! I cancelled the flight and got a full refund.

    Do you have a contract with a specific number of contact hours? If so, and this extra teaching exceeds those hours, you would have a case. When would the classes take place? I would want paying for after school hours or even worse, weekends! I remember being asked once, but it was for a few hours during Summer School, which was no hardship.

    I would keep half and then report to the police that I have found a box containing ...erm....a lot of money! This would be in the knowledge that if nobody came forward to claim it, it would be shared between you know who. I've just made sure of my cut. 😉

    Until 3 or 4 years ago, you were able to obtain a certificate of residency or affirmation of residence from the British embassy for fifty pounds. Used the service twice myself.

    I know the British and US embassy no longer deal with certs of residency, so what embassy would that be as a matter of interest?

    Well that's just it. They don't wear them. Especially the younger generation. Will the threat of up to a 2,000 Baht fine change that? I'm sceptical.

    I doubt many of the Thais I see riding without a helmet are capable of stumping up a 2,000 Baht on the spot fine. I wonder if there are some payment plans in place for those unable to pay. That's a big chunk of your average Thais monthly pay. (Just noticed the 'up to 2,000 Baht' . So very flexible then. 🙄)

    If somebody uses an agent, usually from Pattaya or Bangkok, then that is where the COR would be obtained, which means that it is useless for using in their home province, eg: a driving license with their home address. That is what I am trying to get over to you.
