  1. Hey guys did you had any luck yet?

    I have an update.

Went to Chatuchack market (JJ) in Bangkok on wednesday, and i found 2 vendors near one of the entrance where the toilettes are, bought a small Rosmarin for just a 100 Bahts, about 20cm high and 10-15cm in diameter.

The other stall has other Rosmarin about double that size but he's asking 290Bahts....

Coudn't find Sage, Origano, Thyme, etc.....only Rosmarin and lots of thai plants and flowers.

Keep posting your findings pls, thank you ;)

  2. Have you seen the customers touch each and every piece of BBQ'd chicken at the food stalls! What's that about they think it's ripe fruit or what.

Possibly just a way to take away that unpleasant smell with a different one, especially after they have cleaned up their lower back ends bare hand or picking up between their filthy toes after a whole day going shoeless.....

  3. Or if he happens to be Catholic, go to confession, say 20 'Hail Marys' and then back to killing, stealing, whatever it goes etc

Yes Thailand - West all the same-same, after all, whom isn't familiar with the image of someone becoming a priest at his own will, maybe for just a week end and those ones going killing muslims and burning down their houses or again the gangsters becoming priests just to avoid the prisons.....

Make us a favour and just change your lenses when you have a chance, will you?

  4. You have to love the truly xenophobic farang who only see evil

No, no, we all hate farangs, we know that thai people cannot do these things (as we are constantly reminded by locals and wannabe locals of that), so, people, just try to keep your eyes open for a farang wearing 2 huge elephant's tusks in Walking Street tonight...

  5. This thread is months and months old and not one person has said "I am from Finland and I got an income verification from the Austrian Consul and used it successfully to extend my visa."

I just can't believe they would do it.

    Please prove me wrong... anybody.

    'nuff said

That's possibly because you are not reading all the answers here, i can see several confirmations....just try to read, it helps, sometime.

  6. they do eat the cockroaches and house lizards. Harmless but scary to some people.

That's great to knows! I always thought they where some dangerous kind of spiders because of the way they look, as the Tarantulas.

I hope they will help me in getting rid of all those Gekos as they get into anything, leaving around their excrements and blowing up computers, tv and anything else that works with electricity causing many 1000's Bahts in damages, those Jing-Joes are really annoying...

  7. The local postal's service it's simply rotten and corrupted to the bone as the most of the things operated in a local's manner, after all, why they should be any different? Aren't they operated by these people full of "cultural" (in Thailand this phenomenon is addressed as "culture" by locals and wannabe locals) values??

Regularly even the bills get "lost", the postman say it depends from the sender and not him, so why then i often get those mails opened up and from the neighbours?

    Ahhhh those thai mysteries!

Very much thai, but not much of a mystery any more to whom want to see things for what they really are.

  8. I think little miss hairy and python were fighting over that 10baht coin..!!

Perhaps it was just some sort of a "Charon's obol"...

    EDIT:

this is the second time i try to repost the link, there is a technical problem with this forum as it doesn't seems to accept the " ' " as part of a link, you will have to type it by yourself in the address's bar to make it work.

  9. Sorry but i disposed off it alreadyfacepalm.gif Man, cobla vely good fo eating! thumbsup.gif

Some people around here likes to eat snakes, but as far as i know, around here they eat anything that moves really, including ants, rats, etc.

A local Mom&Pop store, which always sell cheap noodles with meat inside, always had lots of dogs there, then, little by little they disappeared....i am wondering how they manage to keep their noodles's prices so low and from where that meat originated from, just a thought.

  10. Showed the picture my FIL and he said it's a Cobra - serp serp.

He doesn't like vipers to eat as they are to small but if he catches one it ends up in his Lao Khao with a lot of herbs. This year so far he took five snakes from around our home.

So he infuses the lao khao with snakes, then drinks the lao khao?

Plenty of "whiskey" bottles with small and large snakes inside, at the Chinatown's market in Bangkok, some people made a business out of it.

  11. They are very rare in Thailand these days Mr SOMe TAMe you are lucky to have seen a King in the flesh. Some herps go all their lives without ever seeing one. Where do you live if I may ask?

If this is "luck"......well, i actually have seen another Cobra a few years back, no doubts that time because it's wasn't hideing somewhere but going trough the fields in the typical Cobra's way, with his head up and a large "hood".

That time it was about 3 meters away, we both had a look at each others and then the Cobra went back from where he came from, heading towards the woodlands.

I live at the footsteps of the Khao Yai national park, in one of the many micro-villages around it.

I read that in this park there are still bears, tigers, crocks and leopards in the wilderness...
