Ari might be worth checking out. Quite close to the centre of town on the SkyTrain, but feels outside. Laid back but quite a compact area. Increasingly fashionable. No On Nut types.

Any further relaxation of social restrictions from December 1 announced? Or under consideration?

PayPal is cancelling personal accounts in Thailand from next year
SheungWan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just confirming. Only applies to Thai PayPal accounts? Accounts registered in UK and elsewhere unaffected. Yes? Or will Ppal block the use of these if currently staying in Thailand? -
Re heart meds, I do not think there is a local equivalent of Eliquis Apixaban. Available in Thailand but expensive so worth shipping over, yes?

Sure to take their 40 baht custom elsewhere.

Re banking the Metro Bank was mentioned above. It is worth noting that they have extended opening hours and also are/were open at weekends. Some branches eg the one at Holborn, London also rent out security boxes if you need somewhere safe for docs., cash etc. -

Walking around a 12 year old building should give you plenty of indications of whether the place is managed adequately. -
The number of Pattaya homeless around no more prominent than the numbers on The Strand in central London.

I look forward to when anti-vaxxers have to show evidence of vaccination for renewal of visa retirement extension. The discussion will end right there.

Nobody leaves their phone on the dresser when going out. It goes with you everywhere and at all times. Try some other excuse.

Re the 800,000 baht requirement, 799,999 baht or less is a fail. No prizes for close, closer or very close. -
People who retire in Thailand - Whats your plan?
SheungWan replied to Leveraged's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
One might make provision for a nurse care-giver, but if your condition escalates to that of needing hospital treatment and ICU then that is on a different level. Only a limited number are covered for this. It's a judgment call if and when to return to one's home country. Declining physical mobility surely a game changer. However, a number determined only to leave after its all over. -
How to keep a Thai phone number? Leaving Kingdom
SheungWan replied to Matt199's topic in IT and Computers
H'mm. I must admit I assumed that since I am able to use UK Amex to pay bill inside Thailand, I can continue to do so when outside Thailand. -

MyAIS app: set up cheapest option with assistance from AIS shop and then make payments from anywhere using any visa card or MasterCard or Amex. -
Do you object to being asked if you’ve been vaccinated?

I always ask my Fox News Fan friends so they can do their agitated dance and away with the fairies routine for my entertainment. -
My marriage is kind of 'on the rocks', crumbling around me.

There is no magic solution. Whatever the OP does will result in him losing something. I would say though that giving "The Talk" is a waste of time. Return to Europe/stay with the wife and child/move out are the choices in front of him and all are plus/minus. It sounds though that for now it is a slow burner of indifference so can be waited out until the Covid situation gets better. She is neither playing up or throwing tantrums so at least that is a plus. However I would take the opportunity to do two things. The first would be to make sure personal finances are sorted and salted away for options. The second thing would be to buy some extra chocolates for the dog. -
So what did you get out of the 2020 Olympics?

If you think Sophon is a waste of money at 3600 BAHT a year, then welcome to the vastly more expensive True which I am very glad to say I finally managed to dump last year. I use Sophon for news and that means Bloomberg, CNA and NHK. Sure I would like CNN and CNBC but not enough to sign up ever again with True or mess around with the dodgy boxes.
