How do you know Sturgeon or anyone from the SNP tried to get an innocent man jailed?

Is there any question in your mind that someone is lying here and someone is suffering from acute amnesia, why are the Scots Nats putting up with all this scandal, corruption and lying.

Yet another person has been charged with being naughty, a former senior advisor to Angus Robertson, it's almost getting a daily occurence, tell you what if you can get some tickets for the next SNP Christmas Office Party I'll be up for that, they sound a real hoot.

So given the long list of Tory politicians who have broken the laws or rules or indeed lied why are you not calling for their heads?

I'm struggling to think of one that tried to imprison an innocent man, if you can remind me of that person I will agree he or she needs to go to jail also.

But whataboutery is the tool of the Scots Nats it would appear.

The Presiding Officer is a Labour MSP, but I didn't expect that you would have known that anyway, given your scant understanding of Scotland or Scottish politics. The make-up of the committee investigating the affair is, as standard, proportionate to the parties represented in the parliament, hardly Sturgeon's fault that the electorate sees the alternatives as woeful. But I am reluctant to pass judgement until the committee has ruled.

But you have failed to answer my question. Do you think that SNP politicians should be held to the same standards as Tory politicians when they are found to have broken the rules or broken the law?

I don't care who it is, Scottish MP, UK Mp, fishmonger, door to door salesperson, footballer or even a clown with dodgy doors on his car, they themselves should go to prison for a crime of false imprisonment.

Bring down the SNP? Is this on your drive to eradicate opinions which differ from your own?

Let's see what the outcome is, shall we, and if guilty of misconduct, let's hold her to the same standards as she would be were she in the Nasty Party.

Or do you think she should be held to a different standard?

I think that anyone who tries to imprison an innocent man deserves everything that can be afforded to her, and when there was a hearing called it happened to be weighted in Mrs Sturgeons favour and even the presiding officer was her friend and fellow SNP member, sounds about right for the corrupt and Sleazy National Party, one might look at this as a crime, what say you RR?

That's no problem - Patel broke ministerial rules; Hancock broke the law; Johnson lied to parliament and Mogg lied to the queen, all without even a murmur of disapproval.

Those are all facts; all Davis has are 'suggestions' of which he is so uncertain, he doesn't have the balls to say them outside parliament.

I think you are under-rating what is being said here RR, we are talking about an innocent man being sent to prison, this should bring down the SNP never mind Sturgeon and her inner sanctum. You seem to be blowing a bit hot and cold about Sturgeon at the moment, this is a hot potato RR.

  6. "David Davis MP, former cabinet minister, has used parliamentary privilege to reveal leaked details from a whistleblower relating to the Alex Salmond inquiry at Holyrood.

Davis said on Tuesday evening in a debate at Westminster that documents from the whistleblower suggested there was a “concerted effort by senior members of the SNP to encourage complaints” against Salmond."

I dislike being called a sweaty sock and I can't stand the typical English man like will carling. I also hate that song about chariots and Mr kiplings cakes. Actually, quite a few other things.

So it's taken you 4 days to think of why you dislike the English and this is the best you can come up with.

You don't like being called a sweaty sock, I cannot ever remember using that expression, jock strap yes but not sweaty sock.

I seem to remember that Will Carling was the only one man enough to attack Mr Blobby.

But at least you tell the truth and don't try and cover the real reason for partitioning the UK like some on here.

The rules for the next referendum have to be the same as for the last one. If you had no objections back then there can be no objections now. You cannot start gaming the system to suit yourself. However much you want to.

The EU referendum was a UK vote. Other nations in the EU had no say. In a Scottish independence referendum the same rules apply. England, Wales and Northern Ireland get no say because its not up to them.

Did the UK get a say when Australia left? Or Canada? Or New Zealand? Malta?

No because its up to those countries do decide their future for themselves.

Now I understand you have this overwhelming desire to have a say but you cant.

Sometimes rookie I just despair at your replies. ????

But the fact that it was a UK vote and the wishes of the Scottish electorate were ignore - it this not exactly the same reason that was given for the UK having to leave the EU?

    Getting control back.

The 2014 Referendum was a Scottish only vote and when I say Scottish only I mean selected Scots, the Scots living other than Scotland never had a chance to decide on the future of Scotland, however the SNP decided to also include 16 and 17 year olds for the first time, well 16 and 17 year olds might be good on playing Ghosts and Goblins but to decide the future of the country most people would say it was a big ask and again purely done by the SNP to give themselves a better chance of 'winning', but as history has proven their sneaky antics and untruths fooled no-one only themselves.

The EU referendum was a UK vote and a completely different kettle of fish, it was not a Welsh, Scottish, English or NI vote but a collective vote of our Island nation, we can't start going down the route of throwing teddy out of the cot because the vote didn't go the way we wanted tebee, now that would not be very democratic now would it.

But because we have left the EU it has certainly increased the sale of William Wallace T shirts across the water. Be realistic tebee the Scots want to remain in our union and some peoples bitterness will not change that one iota.

Your attempts at amelioration are genuinely not a good look, Vogie. To try to liken ALL foreigners being required to carry papers in a foreign country with the proposal by our government that only certain specific sections of our own countrymen must comply with the same requirements or face jail is patent nonsense.

But it is entirely relevant this thread. I can understand your wish to not have it spoken about, but as we were discussing how Brexit is motivating more and more Scots to want to leave the union, and as Brexit was marketed as a racist endeavour with our politicians fanning those flames, the slow descent into genuine fascist state continues - hence the relevance to this topic.

Fine words butter no parsnips, the top and bottom of it is, I knew the rules of the Thai Kingdom before I made my mind up to live here, but wouldn't it be hypocritical of me to move here and to start moaning that now I don't repect those rules, it is no hardship for anyone except for the people who try to turn everything into something it really isn't.

Every country has rules and if we don't like those rules we have two choices, follow those rules or don't, if you don't, be prepared for the consequences. Simples.

Could not agree more..........absolute mystery .......and the worst of it is.......what is the way forward?

145,000 covid deaths, the destruction of the economy with an atrocious half-baked Brexit deal, the potential break up of the Union and the real possibility of a return of troubles in NI.......and he is still ahead in the polls.

    We are genuinely doomed.

Don't be such a down in the mouth, I read it this morning that two thirds of the covid deaths may have been caught in hospital, if so I want my claps back. Our union isn't going anywhere, you do know that nationalism and socialism are poles apart and you didn't strike me of being a nationalist so why you are offerring your support to such a "movement" is a mistery.........oh wait.

Nobody wants any return to the troubles in NI and nor do we ignore a democratic vote just to appease the terrorists. Come on 'Surely' I have known you long enough to know that you know it makes sense.

Combine this with Trumpian voter suppression, dictating what teachers might teach in their 'spare time', 10 years for damaging a statue, but 8 years for rape (sentence, not time served)........it is all going the wrong way.

At least Johnson is the best PM other than Churchill, we have ever had.

It must be a tough time at the moment for Labour supporters, you have my sympathy. No matter how much you think the Tories are they are still streets ahead of the opposition.????????????

The Police and Crime bill, being rushed through Parliament by the tories at the moment, will require certain ethnic minorities to have to carry papers confirming their ethnicity with them at all times or face 3 months in jail and fines of up to £2,500.

What a truly revolting country the UK has become.

Very much like Thailand then, but it doesn't spoil my enjoyment of the kingdom, but there again I don't try and find fault with the UK constantly like some on here.

Scotland has about 10% the population of England -- and England has 80+% of the total population of the UK.

In the EU - made up of 27 countries.   Countries in the EU with about the same population as Scotland or less:  Denmark, Finland, Slovakia, Ireland, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Malta...   The single largest country in the EU (Germany) and has about 22% of the EU population... Scotland in the EU would be a sovereign state within the EU, while in the UK it is only sovereign when it comes to fielding certain sports teams.  (they apparently even have to get permission to hold a referendum to leave, while the UK as a sovereign state in the EU did not).   Being a Union of 27 countries, countries have to find common ground with other countries (and there are always countries with the same viewpoint).

Let's stop portraying Scotland as the victim here, if England wanted to leave our Island Nation it would have to go down the same road, this is how our constitution works and will always work even after the EU has long gone.

Let's not forget that Scotland has had a referendum on partitioning the UK, it failed miserably to attract enough support to do this. We know that Scotland doesn't want to leave our Union, that is not in doubt as proven. Why suddenly are some wannabe Rob Roys so determined for Scotland to have one, for example everyone in my household knows that my dog Ting Tong doesn't like mushrooms, so it would be totally pointless trying to feed him some, a total waste of time. Imagine one of my neighbours turning up with a punnet of mushrooms and saying 'these are for your dog' to which I would reply 'he doesn't like mushrooms' and then he keeps insisting he should have them anyway, what a waste of time for all concerned I'm sure you'll agree.

Are you suggesting nationalism had nothing to do with the Brexit vote?

Equally are you suggesting that UK nationalism has nothing to do with wanting to keep Scotland and NI as part of the UK?

I think the Scots were cheated, but surely you must agree that's what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

Just to clear things up, I am not suggesting anything, I am saying all this support for Scottish Nationalism is the result of a democratic vote and Scotland wasn't cheated out of anything as it was a UK vote, as soon as the remainers start recognising that fact they might be able to move on with their lives.

  16. Now the SNP are having polls to see when they're going to have a poll and Angus Robertson is totally ecstatic about it, I thought it was going to be this year. If this is meant to keep the SNP followers gnashing at the bit, I think he has miscalculated judging by the reaction of the next post, another follower gone. ????????????

Hate? Your entire post is laying bare the hate that is consuming you. You literally want to eradicate those who do not share your opinion.

The only hate on display is your hatred of democracy and freedom of speech. Your views are genuinely worrying, and given the overt authoritarianism of the current Westminster government, it bodes very ominously for the future of the right to self expression that its supporters share the same intolerance.

Yesterday's disgusting treatment of peaceful women protesting in London is just the tip of the iceberg. Brexit enabled a right wing neo fascist government and so many seem to be walking in lockstep with them. That is truly frightening.

Deflect as much as you like, one as only to read some Scots Nats posts to realise the direction the discord is travelling.

Fascist government , would that be the same government that believes in democracy.????????????
