Hey.. be nice... Joe did donate vaccines to Thailand. They just did nothing to help the Americans living here. It was Thailand who offered some vaccines for free to any foreigners at one point. Nothing from the US was mandated by the government to do so. Unlike China and other countries who demanded their free vaccines be first given to their respective citizens in the country.

Waiting the Thai locals to pick up on this and demand the government curb tourism some. But will never happen.

I have been in Thailand for 13 years now. Never have I been to Phuket and I have no inclination to go there. Everything reeks of a superfluous society aimed at taking your hard earned money, and lots of it. And for what? There are other places in Thailand with beautiful beaches, good food, and good weather. Phuket is a rip-off city. Those who go there should not care about money or losing a lot of it. The women are overpriced even if they are only your GF. Much better in other places in Thailand. With less problems as well.

a few years back. I was working in a chinese school. There was a boy 9 years old in my class. Every day the chinese teachers complained about this boys behavior. They could not control him. He would throw stuff at the teachers. Throw his chair around the room. Insult and abuse the Chinese teachers. They would even tell me to ignore him because there was a problem with him mentally. One day in my class he decided to try this. I stormed across the room as loudly and angrily as possible towards him. When i got to him I told him as loudly as possible to come with me. I took him by the hand and forcibly made him go to the hallway with me. He was terrified. I talked to him in a normal tone in the hallway but you could easily see my feeling was not normal. I told him if he did not sit properly in my class, do what he was told, and behave, that i would take him out again and kick his butt all the way down the hall. He walked back into class in tears ashamed. Miraculously,this child began behaving in class and became one of my best students. I met with the father on parents day and the father said the child loved me as his teacher. I was shocked haha. The other Chinese teachers were amazed because this boy still terrorized them in their classes. But was the best behaved in my class. Even my Chinese co-teacher was amazed at the difference in behavior this boy showed in my classes. Needless to say, they wanted to watch my class to see how i managed him and the class. in class I would always make him participate and do what was asked. If he did not i would remind him what would happen. Quietly, so other students would not hear and he would not lose face. Within a month he was walking in and hugging me and his work would be done and would be excited to show me his work was done. Some children need a show of strength from an elder. Someone who can make them have a little fear and at the same time be hard with them. I think it is Ok to instill a little fear as long as there is also a show of concern and love and not singling them out. This kid went on to be my best English student in the class. His parents were so proud of him and always so nice to me when we would meet and talk. If i saw a problem, I could count on the parents to support me in my actions. In my eyes, the boy was the same as my own. To treat him with love and discipline the same I would do my own. As a father of 4 boys and 3 girls. I would never allow a student to walk all over me and disregard my instructions and act so badly. This boy in the article maybe just needs someone to be strong and instill a little fear into him. Clearly the teacher was not that person. Show the boy he is really just a little boy and not a child that can scare an adult or be allowed to act so badly.

So what you mean is now the foreigners are the kettle and you are the pot calling them black. Look at your own problems first. Do you think the foreigners came to Thailand looking to cause problems? Or perhaps instead they see it happening already within the Thai population? You have naked Thai men running in the streets. You have Monks stealing, deceiving, having sex with married women and little boys even killing people. You have teachers assaulting or raping little kids or selling them to provide sexual services for money. You have Thai attacking foreigners unprovoked. You have thais selling drugs in every city. You have Thais doing all and more than what you have said in your post. It rarely to never gets posted in social media the way they do for almost every foreigner incident. I do not think what you are saying has any justice in it at all. The only difference now is that social media is easily accessible and Thais like to show when a foreigner is caught doing something that the Thai do but do not want to see it done by a foreigner. Your question and post should instead be why are foreigners copying Thai behavior now and doing the same bad the Thais do normally every day? Why is it, when a foreigner is caught doing something, the news always blatantly say the netizens are outraged whereas if a thai is caught doing the same the news rarely says more than the report states. I do not post these things likely. It is simply an observation easily seen if one takes the time to read. One more note here. If there is a squabble between 2 thais. The police will not get involved. It will not get reported. It there is a squabble and a foreigner is involved. It becomes national news with an outcry by netizens.

Usually, the teacher is more expendable than the teacher. The parents pay money and blame the teacher. The teacher must take responsibility. So in most cases the teacher is the one in trouble. I have seen it happen many times. Parents will not accept their kid is a monster. They will blame the school for not controlling this child. Thai education system is a travesty.

Sounds like he stole that line from another previously. Let him stay until the elections decide. Then when he loses he can encourage his hardliners to forcibly keep him in office. I do not think the laws have changed for this. You can get a one year work permit with it easily extended yearly only. I may be wrong though. Your employer should know the current laws relating to this.
