Many Thanks, I did take the bike (on the pickup) to Korat. I wanted a 46 k service, but they they did the 42k service again, which Udon should have done 6 months ago at 40k,
The 46k service is a simple one, but they believed the Udon service was not properly done as spark plugs were not changed, valves weren't checked and the rear wheel split pin was a piece of bent wire...etc. etc..
I was very happy with Korat, even though it was 1000k round trip, the Versys rides and sounds like new again.
Many service parts were corrected or changed - they also had Bike Ramps for the pickup, so I a got a couple.
Smileygc,
I have my eye on a 650 Versys, new. The 42K and 46k services.... just wondering if you ride the bike hard or is this really typical of what is needed? Just trying to get a handle on what I could do myslef vs having to take it in every 5K. Thanks for any input.

If you plan to travel back to USA after I suggest fiancé visa and marry in USA. WAIT time for her visa is quite different.
-
Ask the wife about the truck that comes through Buriram every so often and drills for next to nothing for farms. Government sponsored.
-
Wish I could remember the name but there is a "resort" behind big C that I looked at once and is very nice. I was going to build rooms in the area but the land prices went way out the roof so there is no way I can do it now.
Best of luck. I can call family and get contact info if you are unable to locate it.

I could not agree more. One of the many reasons I love living here. I am a bit fed up of these little western nazis trying to impose there values on places like Thailand. If the law doesnt effect you stop trying to impose it on others. I know when I get in a car without a seat belt or bike without a helmet that it is more unsafe. My choice end of. I dont need a government to try and save me from myself.I love my freedom here and riding my bike with NO helmet, it is called freedom and I hate all the nanny state do gooders who preach about safety all the time, jeees it is not safe to walk down the street so we will all have to stay indoors in padded cells to stop hurting ourselves!!!! Live your life how you want to and stop telling others how to live theirs.
Then don't expect the same government to care for you when in a vegetative state pissing and drooling all over yourself.

You mentioned first Thai wife. What happened there regarding the marriage? Why do you believe this one is "worth" more?

Check out Alan the Builder.
I got a rough estimate from him. Quite pricy compared to the rest.

I found Bangkok Hospital very good.
I e-mailed for an appointment through their web site, got a response in 24 hours and was received at the hospital with all information all ready for my card, appointmets, etc. hospital where if either needs anything, they help each other.
This is only my opinion, and usually only post things that I know might help someone else. <snip>

Thanks Jocose. Very helpful, the best reconnaissance I have seen so far. A lot of knee-jerk reactions dismissing the place because it is expensive. Fair enough, but it is important to have a sense of what you are getting (or not getting) for your money. On those occasions where you can get what you need by a quick trip to the "Doc-in-theBox" at the corner clinic for a few hundred baht, so be it. To get antibiotics for a run of the mill infection, I would choose the "Doc-in-theBox" over a hospital any day. But hospitals obviously have their place and it is important to have some basis of comparison so you can make an intelligent choice.

Chevrolet Colorado is all new for this year. It is truck of the year in USA and will use same platform world wide. The sport model is just right for me and as far as resale I'm not selling so no issue. Good luck in search for what suit you.

OK I am new at this but when the visa is issued you have 90 days in which to enter or the visa is null. That's why when applying for non o marriage or retirement you need to do so within 90 days of your travel to Thailand. Ubonjoe please let me know if this is correct or not. I'm getting my info from thai consulate in Los Angeles.

Some good info here thanks!

IF...and I mean IF...because I didn't know him, If he was a long term heavy drinker a single fall could cause death. Minor trauma could result in bleeding in the brain if atrophy has occurred.
