Have a word with the gearbox supplier...Aisin......
Looks like they supply the housing but not positive based on website. I will call tomorrow. -
Today the customer service rep and "Fortuner tech" came from BKK to Buriram to evaluate the problem.
There was a programming update which was installed which corrected the hard shift to sixth gear but it did not resolve the issue of having to remove my foot from the accelerator to get the thing to shift into sixth.
The response from the "experts" is that this is normal. I can't believe that this is normal and expressed my concern that the transmission has a problem and it should be corrected before it gets worse.
Final outcome from today's visit: Hard shift to sixth resolved, but whining and shift to sixth not resolved. Response from the staff was "you have 3 year warranty if you have any more problems. "
Has anyone had similar issues and if so how was it resolved? -
I have stopped for young adults waiting to cross to university. There is a multi colored cross walk that has many warning signs. You would think I was wrong for stopping based on the honking and finger throwing at me. Someone will be killed there because of Thainess and their driving "skills. "

Agreed, especially at 4700 km. But I think if now better than higher mileage or out of warranty.

Thank you sir!

Buriram. We actually drove with a laptop connected to the vehicle proving the shift to sixth was not occurring. I was driving so could not see what it indicated but it was the dealership service manager who suggested the next step in the algorithm which is to get the expert from BKK to take a look. I think we are moving forward. They are very responsive to this point.

I'm just hoping for an appropriate resolution. If it takes a little time no problem. Toyota expert in hospital ( they only have the one???) so I'm hoping for his quick recovery then we can move forward.

Waiting for an appointment with the "experts " from Bangkok to come evaluate it.
I hear it takes months to get parts for the ford! -
I am having issues with the six speed auto tranny. There is a whining noise which correlates with output shaft speed not engine rpm, and it won't shift to sixth gear at any speed with steady throttle. It will make an audible klunk shifting into sixth if I remove my foot completely from the accelerator.
Dealership tried to blow it off as wind noise or engine noise then said it works fine in cruise control.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues that has found a resolution?

I bet most people bailed on the classifieds and look elsewhere.

Thank you for the info all. Very helpful.

Headed there next week. Just didn't want to do all that travel and waiting if what the wife's friend said was confirmed by someone who has actually gone there. It didn't sound right to me.

Has anyone not of Thai birth gone to stand in line to pay respect at the palace? I have been told no foreigner allowed.

Reminds me of a comment made by the sister of a young thug killed while burglarizing a residence in America; "How else is he going to get the money for nice clothes?" Oh the logic....

Thanks!

I have a Honda Forza and it is due for a new set of tires. The rear tire I want is 150-70-13 and stock is 140-70-13. I just wonder if using the different size tire will effect ABS function and if so how?

Why do they keep mentioning cremation if the body is still in the bag? Were certain parts cremated?

Grass was so thick I didn't want to stop every 2 minutes to empty the bag.

I can confirm the report is basically true. However it should have read "instant noodles of any brand" because the vendors charging 10 times the retail price buy the cheapest thing on the market. They sell a LOT of noodles.

I did indeed buy an Elvis Troy Bilt mower at Ruangsangthai. Outstanding machine. It cuts through the wild grass with no problem. The variable speed self propelled function works great so cutting overgrown area like a walk in the park. Couple that with one of the many models of brush cutter Ruangsangthai has in stock and you are ready to tackle any lawn job. And for those hard to reach places you like to keep trim Ruangsangthai offers the bump feed string cutter attachment for the brush cutter. Happy trimming!

Yes I tried. No have and they refuse to let us test a new one. Only demo model. The Revo with same engine trans combo we did drive was flawless.
