This week, I attended my language school and spoke with the Administrator who informed me that 'NOTHING HAS CHANGED'. Until they hear otherwise they are continuing to process ED visa applications using the same original MOE forms and income originating outside Thailand IS NOT REQUIRED.
In what province was that. There was information that for the time being the two new MoE forms would be used on for applications at schools in Bangkok.
The school where I attend is indeed central Bangkok.
If you require the name of the school Maestro, pm me and I will be happy to divulge this info,

Not everybody have English as their first language (included me:-).
One "grammar police" post deleted
To the OP, as many people say, get a flight ticket, 20.000, nice dress and don't worry
It certainly sounds like a simple process according to you. Whether it be 4.5 yrs or 9 yrs overstay and you can get to the airport 'in time' before you are caught with having no valid visa. Certainly a risky business prolonging your overstay, would you not agree?

Thaivisa.com thanks Walen School of Thai for pointing out these new requirements.
--------------------------------------------
The above taken from George's initial post and yes, perhaps we could have sight of the income requirement from the police order not from the Walen School as it wasn't them that asked for this requirement.

As the subject title suggests, it's abusing an ED visa for those that want to remain in Thailand indefinitely and the 'easy' option therefore is to apply for a 90 day ED visa with 90 day extensions.
I'm surprised that the income requirement wasn't introduced a long time ago.
I will again be attending school next week and I will enquire further on this subject.

Shouldn't be a problem at all. Just make sure you have the 20,000 baht ready in crisp 1,000 bills. I know someone who had a 9-year overstay (yes, nine) and had to return to the US to sort out an inheritance matter (death of his mother). He paid the 20k, no questions asked, spent 3 months in the US and then returned to Thailand with no visa, getting 1 month on arrival, again no questions asked despite his 9-year overstay. This was about 2 years ago, and as far as I know he's still in Thailand now and has not made a visa run in the past 2 years. Overstay is no big deal, as long as you keep a low profile.
I would think this guy you are referring was very lucky to return to Thailand and no questions asked. And, as you say, he's still in Thailand with no valid visa.
Furthermore, as you stated, 'overstay is no big deal as long as you keep a low profile'. What an absolutely stupid comment to make.

But they will require proof that you will start a new study and also require proof of when your current study ends.
The day your study ends is when you have to leave the country, so you must make the studies connecting.
Thanks Mario.
Understand Mario. I intend to study for a further 180 lessons and of course will notify the school accordingly and in plenty of time before my current course of study expires on 28 June 2014.
Happy New Year.

My final para I should have said, when reporting to immigration end May/beginning June will I receive a further 90 day extenson or will I have to leave the country to obtain a further ED visa?

I am sure this question has been asked previously for which I apologise.
I currently have a Non-Immigrant ED single entry visa issued on 05 June 2013 and I commenced a Thai language course (180 lessons) on 24 August 2013, Since the issue of this visa, I have made two 90 day extension, one on the 02 Sept 2013 and a second extension on 26 Nov 2013, which bring my stay up to 03 March 2014 and of course, 90 day address reporting.
I am due to attend immigration again just before 03 March 2014 to apply for a third 90 day extension which will bring me up to end May/beginning June.
As my one year course (180 lessons) actually finishes on 28 June 2014, my question is when reporting to immigration end May/beginning June (ED visa issued 05 June 2013) will I have to leave the country to obtain a further ED visa?
Happy New Year.

There are three, that I know of, that issue verified by visa online debit cards, Kasikorn, Bangkok and Krungthai. Occasionally I use my Krungthai shopping card for online purchases including AirAsia.
