    What is wrong with it?

I normally just buy a new one.......but TukCom South Road, 4th floor (floor above PowerBuy)....as you come off the escalator look to the left he will sort it

Only snag is carrying it there....

It's (one of) the "wheels" that feed the paper into the printer. I have a Canon Pixma which is not more than a couple of years old and since I just replaced the ink cartridges with original ones (you can only refill so many times) I thought I'd try to have it repaired.

Guess I'll head for Tukcom then.

    You mean afterfire?

A common cause of afterfire is from running rich (too much fuel going into cylinders), or faulty ignition possibly a fouled (dirty) spark plug, coil, or plug wire.

I was not familiar with the term but after googling it I guess it fits. Been filling 95 gasohol on it the whole time so I guess it probably is the ignition system.

55-60ms as far as i remember results in very smooth gameplay so if you are experiecing lags it may be your PC. download proces shacker for free and when gaming check on it whether its cpu, memory, disk, or gpu lagging

The lag is not constant. It comes and goes and sometimes I can play for days without the lag so I don't see how it can be my PC.

I doubt very much that there is any translation program that can help you with things like Lyep looy.

Well, it seems you're wrong. I tried speaking lyep looy (intentionally pronouncing it incorrect with l's instead or r's) into Google Translate and it came up with the right answer (เรียบร้อย) and it said the word means neat. But as second choice it said completed and I guess both are correct.

I must say I'm impressed with Google Translate, they must have improved dramatically since I first tried it.

You could install an outdoor digital terrestrial antenna  like this ( from Amorn Tukcom)

    D15E.thumb.jpg.9f37fb038d9a83961ad550fbdb61f3e7.jpg

    use the website   https://dtvservicearea.nbtc.go.th/webpeople/

to find pointing directions to the transmitter...don't use the share location as its often inaccurate, instead

zoom into the map (with mouse wheel) to find your exact location then click on the blue teardrop symbol on the top left  then  move mouse cursor to your exact location and left click  and the site should then show detail like this.

    2082255433_PattayaTVtransmitter3.jpg.ccc7844fa67e90041ebf2f96242e6340.jpg

It shows the distance to the transmitter  in my case 9.9KM  and the compass direction to point the antenna in my case 325 degrees.

    IMG_20160430_124407_1.thumb.jpg.5b732900d0f56e0b5e0b689a929a4578.jpg

Its a good idea to find the pointing direction before buying the antenna as you may not physically be able to point the antenna in that direction..say for instance you live on the other side of a condo building or have a huge building blocking line of site then it could be almost impossible to get a signal obviously the closer you are to the transmitter the smaller the antenna needs to be and some people can use indoor antennas.

in some cases  the set top box or TV tuner  does not catch all the signals  or picks up signals from Bangkok  so the  MUX frequencies are  useful to make sure you are actually tuned to the correct transmitter...I had was able to get  lots of signal from Bangkok  but it was very variable from  100%  down to nothing fluctuating during the day and confused the  set top box no end..constantly retuning itself so had to turn off the auto scan and  manually tune to each MUX

That sounds like something I could use but since I'm the opposite of a handyman I will need someone to do the installation.

In addition to internet TV We also have a DSTV dish and decoder box for dozens of free Thai channels

So is that a one time cost for installation or do you pay a yearly fee? Also, I tried doing a search for "dstv pattaya" but nothing came up. Can you please tell me where I can find them?

  8. I want to cancel the Sophon Cable subscription since I only use IPTV and the Mrs can get the Thai channels for free so I'm looking for a company that can come and install a dish/antenna that can get all the free channels available.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

  9. Thanks to all posters. I entered "completely" instead "completed" in the translation program I'm using hence the confusion.

BTW, I find that the Thai2english is better than Google Translate but are there other programs/apps out there that are even better?

Decided to fire up world of tanks today and the lag is awful. Much worse than the last time I played. I would call it almost unplayable.

It seems to me weekends are worse than weekdays. Do you have the same impression?

I play World of Tanks and Warships on PS4 connecting to Sony servers in Singapore, then to WG servers in the US and Europe. I have experienced occasional issues such as slow response of control commands, moving, turning and shooting. I never have issues playing COD, Battlefield, Sniper Elite or any of the other shooter games I play.  I have found that when WOT or WOW become unplayable, if I close the game, then restart it the issues are sometimes resolved. This leads me to think that slow game play is not an internet latency issue but from the WG Servers, that PS4 connects too. I consistently get 170+/70+ speeds to Sony servers in Singapore using the consoles Network connection test.

I used to get a ping of about 30 ms when the Asia server was located in Singapore but when they moved it to HK it doubled. Not a problem in itself but there seems to be more connectivity issues now then before.

I've got the same 3BB connection (way out in the boonies) and play World of Tanks on it - never needed to turn off my firewall or virus protection. I notice that some games like League of Legends can play perfectly for weeks on end then one day I start getting random lag spikes up to 500ms ping. World of Warships never had any lag of any kind.

Do you always get the lag or is it just now and again?

It comes and goes but it's getting more frequent. I've been told that it probably is caused by many people using the internet at the same time but according to 3bb only 8 people are using this line.

Just had the technicians here again and they found nothing wrong.

whats your ping from hong kong vs say an oceanic server?

My ping rate to the HK server is 55-60 ms. Not sure what you mean by oceanic server.

  14. I'm playing an online game called World Of Tanks and occasionally (more and more it seems) I have problems with lag (like right now it's impossible to play). I have a 3BB 600/200 fiber connection using a LAN cable.

I'm using Ping Plotter to check the connection (ping and packet loss) to the server which is in Hong Kong but even when this is showing that all is well I can experience lag. I also use Task Manager to verify that no background programs are using all the memory and have tried turning off all virus and firewall shields as well as resetting my router. 3BB has been here many times and changed the router as well as some stuff outside the house but nothing helps.

My question is; are there more thing I could try before possibly changing the ISP?

PS. I have tried to bring up the subject of packet loss with the technicians who have come to my house but none of them have understood the term. This is very surprising as I would have thought this term would have been adopted into the Thai language or at least understood by a computer professional. Does anyone know the Thai words for this?

I'm afraid not.  You are just in the ADMIN folder in command prompt window.  You need to run the command prompt window in admin mode.  Right click on the app icon to get the option as in the image above.

Thanks for the help, worked like a charm:)

You need to run the command prompt window with admin privileges.

But the prompt says C:\Users\ADMIN>. Doesn't this mean I'm already logged in as admin? And if not how do I go about doing that?

  17.  On my desktop PC even when I shut down all programs a third of the available memory (8GB) is in use. I know there are always some programs and processes that run anyway but according to what I can see using the Task Manager that doesn't account for more than a fraction of that number.

Can anyone please explain to me what I can do to find out what's using all this memory or if this is just normal when running Win 10 Pro?
